Ran, Chen Ze certainly knew about it, but the ran Hastur ntioned definitely referred to Japanese ran; don’t ask Chen Ze why because Hastur’s outfit made it obvious.
"So, are you sure you want to eat ran dressed like that, in this cosplay?" Chen Ze’s mouth twitched, honestly not knowing how to describe his feelings anymore.
"Yes, is there a problem?" Hastur turned his head, looking innocently.
Chen Ze took a deep breath and then went back to the kitchen; whatever Hastur did was fine by him, he felt he could accept it.
Just wearing a "Student Koizumi Loves Ran" cosplay outfit, right? I’ve seen it!
"By the way, I want tonkotsu ran." Hastur made another request, but Chen Ze still refused, after all, he didn’t have the right ingredients.
"How about eel ran?" Chen Ze offered another suggestion, as he had bought plenty of eel and had experience making it.
"That works too." Hastur then continued watching Elena.
"Uncle... I... I also want ran..." Elena timidly voiced her request, and Chen Ze readily agreed.
Japanese ran has beco its own system, especially the broth of the Japanese ran, which can be said to be the essence of ran. A good bowl of ran, the broth at least accounts for a large part.
But this didn’t stump Chen Ze; after all, when Chen Xingchen went to Japan, he had already sent Chen Ze so common ran recipes, and all Chen Ze had to do was follow them to the letter.
Furthermore, since Chen Ze had specifically bought Japanese seasonings and soy sauce, he was confident that he could create a dish with a 90% authenticity level.
Unlike the eel used for eel rice, eel ran in Japan typically uses fried eel. Although one could continue to use the eel prepared for eel rice, Chen Ze decided to follow the recipe and would later adjust it based on the System’s evaluation.
"Big sister, is sothing the matter?" Elena couldn’t help asking, having been stared at by the big sister for quite so ti now.
"I’ve heard that when people are eating, they can’t enjoy their al if soone else is staring at them, I wanted to see if it’s true." Hastur continued watching Elena.
Elena couldn’t help looking at her hands and then the table; she hadn’t even started eating yet, so why would the big sister say that?
She had a feeling that the big sister wasn’t very bright.
Chen Ze looked at the simring ran and took out another small pot to start boiling an egg.
Anyone who often eats ran or watches Japanese ani knows that ran usually has a cut-in-half boiled egg, which is the soft-boiled egg. Of course, so people prefer to use flavored eggs, and there are no strict requirents.
Chen Ze had even tried a version of ran with a fried egg before; the taste was simply beyond words. Fried eggs certainly do not go well as ran toppings, they don’t match at all.
Chen Ze looked at the ran in the pot with so indecision; Japanese ran cos in different degrees of firmness, but he didn’t know what Hastur preferred.
So, in the end, Chen Ze chose to make a bowl of ran with a nine out of ten softness level, leaving a bit of a firm core.
[You’ve made a decent bowl of ran, your experience in making Japanese Cuisine has increased by 7.5 points]
The assessnt given by the System was quite good, and Chen Ze was satisfied. For a first try, achieving this result was already very impressive.
"Betty, co in and serve the ran." Chen Ze clapped his hands and started making the next ran.
"Elena, here’s your eel ran." Betty brought out a bowl of ran with a rich aroma and a cut-in-half soft-boiled egg, looking particularly appetizing.
"Why, why did it turn out like this? I was here first..." Hastur said, his head lowered, his face filled with disappointnt.
Chen Ze almost couldn’t help but spoil the soft-boiled egg in the kitchen. Why did his own restaurant have a plagiarist too?
Before long, Chen Ze had another bowl of ran ready, and then Betty brought it to Hastur, who was repeating himself.
Really, are all the beings from the Cthulhu mythos a bunch of repeaters? Or has the essence of humanity already influenced these entities?
"Hastur, what gas have you been playing lately?" Chen Ze sat nearby, having prepared a bowl of ran for himself and Betty too.
"? I’ve been playing Alliance lately, and occasionally playing so PUBG." Hastur took a bite of the eel, which was nicely done, but it didn’t feel as good as a grilled eel dish.
Chen Ze nodded. He hadn’t really been watching Hastur’s livestreams lately, so he didn’t know what Hastur had been playing.
"By the way, do you want to co play Monster Hunter?" Hastur lifted his head, his eyes shining brightly.
"I am playing, I’m playing Monster Hunter XX." Chen Ze sipped the broth, which was indeed delicious.
"Monster Hunter XX? I haven’t played that, I’m playing Monster Hunter World." Hastur wiped his mouth, having finished his al.
"You should try it, there’s a monster in it that pilots a Gundam." Chen Ze rembered the mantis. The first ti he saw it, he nearly thought he had launched the wrong ga.
"Okay, okay, I’ll definitely give it a go next ti." Hastur waved his hand, then left a ring behind and departed.
Chen Ze picked up the ring and glanced at it. There was a huge gemstone set into it. He casually put it in his pocket, realizing that his cabinet would again be graced with another space-occupying item.
Elena watched this scene and swallowed nervously. She didn’t have any rings, and even though she had dined here many tis, this was the first ti she had seen anyone leave such a large gemstone.
Dear God of Light, it’s so big. If it were sold, it would be enough to buy a house for and my brother, and maybe even so land, right?
"Elena, don’t be nervous, I usually just take whatever for the al cost," Chen Ze said, watching Elena. He nearly laughed out loud; the child was too adorable.
"Eh? Uncle, how did you know?" Elena asked Chen Ze curiously.
"Because of your actions." Just now, Elena had been drinking soup, but when she saw the gemstone, she imdiately put it down, despite there being plenty of soup left.
Moreover, Elena was never one to waste food.
Every ti Elena and Andrew ca to eat, they would finish their food completely.
"Thank you, Uncle!" Elena waved her hand and then pushed open the door, but hesitated for a mont.
She turned around, looking at Chen Ze, hesitant to speak.
"Don’t worry, I promise you’ll see a lively and jumping Andrew tomorrow," Chen Ze said with a smile.
With Nyarlathotep around, Chen Ze was very confident.
But thinking of Nyarlathotep’s look today, Chen Ze hesitated again. Naya wouldn’t get so interested all of a sudden and turn Andrew into a cyborg, would they?
Surely not, right?
