"Aristocratic Assassin?" Chen Ze asked curiously.
"Yes, it is said that this assassin sends out invitations to the nobles beforehand and not a single one of them survives," Betty answered excitedly as she wiped the tables.
For Betty, humans were detestable, especially the nobles. Betty didn’t bear any malice towards ordinary civilians, but when it ca to human nobles, she wished she could pick up a knife herself.
Then Betty colorfully recounted a widely circulated story that she had heard recently, which sowhat threw Chen Ze off.
After all, an assassin who only targeted the greatly wicked and never hard civilians sounded almost like a superhero.
So the current situation was that a possible superhero had erged in this otherworldly world?
Chen Ze thought that if he ever t this person, he would probably applaud, walk up, and ask for an autograph.
Betty had co in very early today, primarily because Chen Ze had specifically instructed her; after all, the schools were closed during this ti, so Chen Ze was running the cafe during normal business hours.
Betty, for her part, had no complaints about the arrangent. As a Succubus, she was always an outsider in the human city.
If it weren’t for Riesel’s specific instructions, Betty would probably have been captured by the Church of Light and sent to the Heretic Tribunal by now.
"Manager, did Lady Lafra not co in yesterday?" Betty asked, poking her head up after finishing wiping the tables.
"Lafra? No, she didn’t co by, probably had sothing to do," Chen Ze scratched his head. Yesterday had seen few custors, and Lafra didn’t co to collect her daily box of cola.
Chen Ze didn’t think too much of it, simply preparing two boxes of cola in the kitchen, so that he could hand them directly to her when she ca by.
Chen Ze opened the fridge to see what was inside; he planned to experint with a new dish today but needed to check what ingredients he had.
"Is this... intestines?" Chen Ze pulled out a string of intestines, not even rembering when he had bought them.
"Should I try making ’Nine Turns Intestine’ from Shandong cuisine?" Chen Ze touched his chin, thinking it might be worth a try.
’Nine Turns Intestine’ was a dish from Shandong cuisine, famous yet also problematic because Chen Ze found many different recipes while searching for one.
"This recipe says to just clean and chop up the intestines, and that’s it – this one says you need to coil the intestines nine tis for it to be ’Nine Turns Intestine.’" Chen Ze scratched his head, feeling his decision-making anxiety acting up.
In the end, he decided to coil it nine tis. After all, if it was just about chopping the intestines, why would it be called ’Nine Turns Intestine’ instead of just sausage or soaked intestines?
So the crux of ’Nine Turns Intestine’ must lie in the ’nine coils’ according to Chen Ze’s understanding.
Looking at the previously frozen intestines, Chen Ze eventually gave up on the idea of using them for the dish, since the freshness of the ingredients could affect the final quality of a dish.
Of course, there were also certain recipes that specifically required frozen ingredients, but ’Nine Turns Intestine’ wasn’t one of them.
"Betty, watch the shop for , I’m going out to buy so stuff," Chen Ze said to Betty before heading out the door, planning to buy so fresh intestines from the market.
"Okay, Manager," Betty blinked and watched Chen Ze leave before sneakily making her way upstairs.
"Hehehe~ The manager would never guess that I can already understand their writing~" Betty was full of excitent; she had devoted a lot of ti to learning Chinese.
"Let’s see... ’Sekiro’? Sounds like a ga about playing with wolves, doesn’t seem interesting," Betty proficiently turned on Chen Ze’s computer.
"Dark Souls? Doesn’t seem fun to , I’d rather play sothing pink."
"Doki Doki Literature Club looks really interesting, let’s play this one~" Betty double-clicked the mouse and opened the ga.
When Chen Ze returned to the restaurant, he saw a panicked Betty hurriedly running down from the second floor.
"Manager, good morning~" Betty blinked and smiled sweetly.
Chen Ze glanced at her and then at his phone, "Betty, it’s already noon."
"Ahaha~ Is that so~" Seeing Betty’s flustered expression, the corner of Chen Ze’s mouth twitched.
"What were you playing just now?" Chen Ze walked into the kitchen and placed the intestines on the cutting board.
Even though the intestines from the supplier were already cleaned, Chen Ze decided to wash them again for cleanliness, and took the opportunity to marinate them.
"I wasn’t playing anything, I can’t understand your language." Betty secretly rejoiced in her heart, had she not always pretended not to understand Chinese... to keep up the demon-setting?
Chen Ze rolled his eyes, it must have been soone who "couldn’t understand" yet enjoyed playing so much that they had replayed so of his gas.
anwhile, Lafra was in a foul mood.
"How many tis have I told you not to bother with these trivial matters!" Lafra angrily stomped on the demon who was trembling and kneeling on the ground.
"Great Crimson Overlord, please do not be angry, only you can adjudge matters between Duke Raphael and Prince Burvare," the Necromancer respectfully looked at Lafra.
"Haven’t I given a solution already?" Lafra said, growing even angrier.
"My Sovereign, the solution you gave is just..." The Necromancer felt like crying just thinking about Lafra’s proposed solution.
Though his eyes only held burning Soul Fire and were incapable of shedding tears.
"Oh? Are you questioning ?" Lafra narrowed her eyes and slowly walked over.
The Necromancer’s heart skipped a beat; he could feel a murderous aura. Even though his Life Casket wasn’t here, he had no confidence in betting whether Lafra could remotely destroy his Life Casket or not.
"Sovereign, but having the Duke and Prince decide the mine’s ownership over a ga of chess, this..." The Necromancer gnashed his teeth and insisted on expressing his opinion.
"Hmph! So Lao Gu’s suggestion is better?" Lafra dismissively sat back on her throne.
"Let that so-called Duke and so-called Prince go to the Arena of Life and Death then, we’ll go with Lao Gu’s approach." Lafra took out a small knife and began to file her nails.
"My Sovereign, this, this..." The Necromancer was close to tears; both were big shots, and he couldn’t afford to offend either. What could he do? He was also in despair.
Chen Ze looked at the well-prepared intestines, satisfied with his work, he nodded; it was ti to officially start making Nine Turns Intestine.
But the next mont, Chen Ze heard the sound of wind chis.
"Eh eh eh? What place is this? Is there ran?" The sound of wind chis brought a blonde-haired Ghost.
