"Of course, back in the days when we were still in our ho village, there was a family doing this kind of work. I even carried you on my back to help them out, and in the process, learned the craft. I never thought that in this lifeti, it would finally co to use," An Dafu said with a hint of nostalgia.
"So when do we start?" An Ning asked. When it ca to building a farm, she definitely didn’t know as much as An Dafu, so she didn’t plan to get involved.
However, this lifeti was still long, and she couldn’t rely on her dad for everything.
"There’s no rush. Let’s wait until things on the mountain are settled, and I also need to prepare so stuff from the county first. We’ll take it slow," An Dafu replied.
In just one day, everything needed for the farm construction was ready.
Construction started the following day.
The buildings for the farm didn’t need to be too good; they just needed to be sturdy, and since it wasn’t technically challenging, it went up very quickly.
Half a month later, once the farm was completed and after a day’s cleaning, An Ning’s ho was finally restored to its pristine condition.
All the chickens and pigs at ho were moved to the farm for rearing.
Everything was personally done by An Dafu and An Ning. During this ti, An Ning released all the chicks from her secret space, leaving only a dozen hens there.
Anyway, in a few days, there would be a new batch of chicks.
Even with Tutu’s help collecting eggs, there were still so missed. If she relied on herself, constantly going in and out of the space to collect eggs, there would likely be even more new chicks popping up.
Even the pigs in her space had grown to over a dozen.
Once everything settled down, they finally began to think about making century eggs.
During the farm construction, the few ducklings An Ning had bought had grown, but there weren’t too many, so they hadn’t planned on any century eggs yet.
The eggs, both from the space and outside, were piling up, so they needed to address that issue first.
It was now already July.
An Dafu went to the county to prepare the necessary items, while An Ning stayed ho and worked with Qiu and her daughter to gather all the eggs, waiting for An Dafu to return so they could start.
In their free ti, Yaya asked An Ning, "Sister An Ning, the peaches on the mountain have ripened. Many of the kids from our village have gone to pick them. Can we go after we’re done?"
Erlaizi’s bad reputation had also affected his family.
Yaya, whether then or now, never really had any playmates. She just knew the other kids looked down on her.
Not only did they disdain her old, tattered clothes, but they also despised her father, fearing they’d get entangled with his family.
But it was different with An Ning. Since An Dafu often visited, Yaya, after spending ti with him, was no longer so afraid, and she followed him here.
Yaya wasn’t much of a talker, but she was swift with her work.
Without needing An Ning to say anything, she’d join in feeding the pigs and chickens and even helped An Ning gather pig fodder outside.
Compared to An Ning, who had no real work experience, Yaya, though two years younger, worked much faster.
