Wen Ran’s face showed a faint hint of dejection.
Ten minutes later, the car stopped at Huan Island Villa, and the two of them got off and went ho together.
Wen Ran entered the living room with her head lowered and silently made her way upstairs, moving quickly as if subconsciously wanting to avoid Fu Chenlie as fast as possible.
But as she had finished climbing the last stair and was about to enter her room, a man’s voice ca from behind her—
"Stop!"
Although she really wanted to ignore Fu Chenlie, her reason reminded her that she couldn’t.
Eventually, Wen Ran ca to a halt.
She didn’t turn around, just slightly tilted her head, glancing at the man who was about to co upstairs using her peripheral vision and asked indifferently, "What is it?"
Fu Chenlie went upstairs and stood right in front of her before he spoke at a leisurely pace, "How much money do you want?"
Wen Ran frowned, not understanding why he would suddenly co up with such a question.
He seed to have read her expression, "What? Shocked by the favor?"
She laughed lightly and countered his previous statent, "Will you give whatever I ask for?"
Fu Chenlie was a whole head taller than her; when they stood face to face, he looked down on her.
As he spoke, there was a sense of superiority in his tone, "You are Mrs. Fu; there’s no denying that. Although I find you disagreeable, and marrying you was against my will, you are still the woman registered under my na. Money is just a number to . Since you like it, it’s not unacceptable to give you a portion."
She looked up to et his gaze, smiled faintly, and actually nad a figure, "Then I want two hundred thousand."
The man further inquired, "Why that amount?"
Wen Ran genuinely gave him a reason, "You gave Xu Tong one hundred thousand, so why can’t I have double that?"
"Fine, I’ll give it to you tomorrow."
"Thank you, husband."
With that, she smiled, "If there’s nothing else, may I go to sleep?"
"As you wish."
"Oh."
Wen Ran lifted her foot and brushed past him.
Upon entering her room and closing the door, the smile on her face disappeared instantly.
What one hundred thousand, two hundred thousand...
She didn’t like money that much.
At least currently, she had no worries about food and clothes, and could afford what she needed. Money was far from as important to her as Fu Chenlie imagined.
Reporting that figure was only because Fu Chenlie always bluntly said she loved money, and she couldn’t let herself be unjustly accused. She might as well own up to it, taking the two hundred thousand. If there ca a day it could be used, it might not be a bad thing.
...
At ten minutes to eleven at night, Wen Ran, having taken a bath and dried her hair, ca out of the bathroom in her pajamas.
She was about to go to bed when soone knocked on the door.
Wen Ran walked over with suspicion and opened the door.
Fu Chenlie’s imposing figure entered her line of sight.
At this mont, he had taken off his suit jacket and undone his tie. Now he was wearing only a white shirt, the top two buttons undone, revealing his wheat-colored skin, looking healthy and full of masculine allure.
Wen Ran found this man to be truly handso.
Not to ntion his tall and straight stature, his face could be considered flawless from every angle.
She didn’t let herself drown in the allure of a handso man, forcibly pulling her reason back and stared at him, feigning indifference, "What do you want, coming to at this late hour?"
"Settling the score."
"..."
Wen Ran imdiately beca guarded, "Settling what score? How have I offended you again?"
Fu Chenlie gave a cold snort and took a step closer to her.
She instinctively stepped back, "Just stay where you are and talk. I can hear you."
Wen Ran was now wearing her pajamas, bare underneath; she inherently felt insecure.
He took another step forward, and she imdiately felt even more endangered.
