Xu Tong nodded, not saying anything more.

Before leaving, however, she looked toward Wen Ran.

Feeling her gaze, Wen Ran directly t her eyes and smiled, playfully raising her eyebrows.

Xu Tong quickly averted her eyes and turned to leave the private room.

Wen Ran felt the room was stuffy, slouching on the sofa while playing with her phone.

Fu Chenlie caught a glimpse of her pale complexion and said indifferently, "Why aren’t you drinking the juice?"

"I’m not thirsty."

"Jinglun kindly ordered it for you, drink it."

She silently gritted her teeth.

It’s ordered by Lu Jinglun, what does it have to do with him?

He even controls whether she drinks juice or not; why doesn’t he just regulate the frequency of her breathing, too?!

Though Wen Ran felt discontent, she still picked up the juice that Xu Tong brought and after taking a sip, she realized it really didn’t taste good and placed it back down with a "pop".

Fu Chenlie frowned, "What’s wrong?"

"It doesn’t taste good."

"When did your taste beco so picky?"

Lu Jinglun chuckled lightly, "Co on, Ah Lie, this is a place for drinking alcohol, not juice. It’s understandable if the taste isn’t authentic. You’re here to drink with us tonight, why keep talking to Little White Rabbit and pay us no mind, Mr. He and I?"

Fu Chenlie then shifted his attention away from Wen Ran.

He started discussing business matters with Lu Jinglun and Wang Zhenghe.

Wen Ran sat to one side, her thoughts still on that Xu Tong.

No, what she was mainly thinking about was one hundred thousand yuan.

One hundred thousand yuan was a lot; even if she got the highest salary for a driver, five thousand a month, it would take twenty months to earn that much—almost two years.

Wen Ran had roughly deduced that Xu Tong was not Fu Chenlie’s ex-girlfriend.

Firstly, with Fu Chenlie’s worth in the trillions, he wouldn’t let an ex-girlfriend stoop to working as a waitress at Tongque Building after breaking up.

Secondly, the way Xu Tong looked at Fu Chen—with a respectful yet constrained gaze, filled with admiration and fear—was not how one looked at an ex-boyfriend.

Furthermore, she ntioned Jiang Wan Ning in front of Fu Chen...

Wen Ran supposed that Xu Tong might be a friend of Jiang Wan Ning, and Fu Chenlie’s assistance was probably out of regard for his first love, Jiang Wan Ning.

Thinking of this, she couldn’t help but feel a sense of irony in her heart.

He was so good to Jiang Wan Ning, even to the extent of loving everything associated with her.

Suddenly, Wen Ran felt annoyed.

She sent a WeChat ssage to her best friend: [Ah Yan, I’m so annoyed, don’t ask why, I don’t even know myself.]

Jiang Yan didn’t reply imdiately.

Probably still on her way ho from work.

"Little White Rabbit, how has your driving practice been these past two days?" Lu Jinglun suddenly brought up Wen Ran.

She snapped back to reality, looking up from her phone at him: "It’s alright, I guess."

Lu Jinglun nodded seriously and then asked curiously, "Who do you think teaches better, Ah Lie or ?"

His question seed designed to provoke.

eting his gaze, Wen Ran smiled, "Of course, it’s Mr. Lu who teaches better. It’s just a pity you only taught for one day."

Upon hearing this, Fu Chen’s face darkened visibly.

His glance towards Wen Ran was as if he wished he could throw her into a at grinder and grind her to feed the dogs.

On the other hand, Lu Jinglun seed quite pleased: "It seems Little White Rabbit still appreciates quite a bit, I am honored, truly honored."

Wen Ran’s phone vibrated.

She didn’t continue talking to Lu Jinglun and looked down at the ssage.

Jiang Yan replied: [Aren’t you just annoyed about the thing with you and Mr. Fu? Did he ntion Jiang Wan Ning again? Are you unhappy that your husband always has another woman on his mind?]

Wen Ran: [No, I’ve always known he likes Jiang Wan Ning. If I were to be annoyed by that, I would have been long ago.]

The real issue now was that anyone remotely related to Jiang Wan Ning would receive kindness from Fu Chen, and yet he treated her so poorly.

Why?!

She felt it was so unfair and suffocating!
