The reason she wanted to send a letter to Fu Chenlie was not out of pity for Jiang Wan Ning’s sadness, but to break up Fu Chenlie and Wen Ran, to vent her own frustrations.

Although that day at the Tongque Building, the two n Fu Chenlie found were only there to scare her, not truly defiling her purity, the fear was almost worse than death for her.

She could never forget that nightmare-like experience.

Now, Jiang Wan Ning is back.

She wanted to see just how deep the feelings between Fu Chenlie and Wen Ran really were.

She didn’t believe there was a marriage in the world that couldn’t be broken, let alone Wen Ran could hold onto the position of Mrs. Fu with Jiang Wan Ning, the ex-girlfriend and savior, around.

Xu Tong was peering into the café, the couple holding hands entering the café seed puzzled by her actions and glanced at her involuntarily.

Xu Tong felt embarrassed, coughed lightly, and turned to leave.

She sent a text ssage to Jiang Wan Ning.

[Wan Ning, I’ve already placed my letter in front of Mr. Fu. If he reads it, his attitude will probably be different the next ti he sees you.]

Inside the café.

Fu Chenlie stared at the crumpled letter on the table, hesitating to touch it.

He didn’t know when "Jiang Wan Ning" stopped being an obsession for him.

When he heard this na, he could only think of how she saved his life five years ago, and how she left when he was in a coma two years ago.

He could hardly rember what happened between them during their ti as lovers or any morable incidents.

Instead, every day he saw Wen Ran, he would occasionally recall the not-so-pleasant tis at the beginning of their marriage, and sotis, the thought would curve his lips unconsciously.

For him, that feeling was fresh and comforting.

...

A little after eleven, Wen Ran finished her exam.

When she walked to the school gate, she imdiately spotted Fu Chenlie in the crowd.

He wasn’t the tallest in the crowd, but his deanor was unmatched on the scene.

The first feeling she had upon seeing him was reassurance, then she went from walking to a small run, running to his side and taking his arm: "Have you been waiting for two hours? Is it boring?"

"I had coffee and enjoyed the view, it was alright."

"Let’s go ho for lunch then."

Fu Chenlie chuckled softly, looking at her with a pampering gaze: "Hungry?"

"A little, after all, answering questions consus a lot of brain cells."

"Hmm, let’s go."

In the car, Wen Ran started speaking as she buckled her seat belt: "Actually, I shouldn’t have made you wait for . After dropping off, you could’ve just gone ho, and I’d take a cab back ho for lunch. I have to co back this afternoon anyway, otherwise, picking up and waiting for like this is a waste of ti. You probably lost tens of millions this morning, right?"

"It’s not that exaggerated. Besides, by your logic, sleeping at night is a waste of ti too?"

"Sleeping is resting, that’s different."

Fu Chenlie ruffled her hair: "I’m willing to wait for you, whether it’s tens of millions or billions, it doesn’t matter for you."

Wen Ran paused: "What’s up with you?"

"What?"

"Saying things like that out of the blue makes feel pressured."

He chuckled: "Don’t overthink, let’s go ho."

"Okay!"

The black Bentley slowly drove away.

Wen Ran leaned on the passenger seat, turned to look at the scenery outside the window, then looked at the man: "But this afternoon I should go by myself. If I can’t, I’ll drive myself, you can just focus on your own work."

"I’ll take you to the exam site first, then I’ll go find Jinglun to see if he needs any help with his engagent."

"Alright."

Responding, Wen Ran couldn’t help but express her concern: "There should be a lot of people at the Lu Family’s engagent banquet, right? I wonder if Ah Yan can handle it. Also, I hope Mr. Lu doesn’t cause any trouble."
