The smile on Wen Ran’s lips faded a little.
Jiang Wan Ning just arrived in Jiang City yesterday, and Fu Chenlie agreed to let her join the Fu Group so quickly?
If she has the capability, there’s nothing wrong with giving her this job.
What made Wen Ran uncomfortable was that she learned about this news from Jiang Wan Ning herself.
No matter how unhappy and frustrated she felt inside, when looking at Jiang Wan Ning, Wen Ran’s expression remained calm and indifferent: "I never interfere with my husband’s decisions at work."
"Is that so? I heard Ms. Wen is a driver for the Fu Group. If any clients need a driver in the future, I hope you can cooperate and not do anything against professional ethics just because I’m Ah Lie’s ex-girlfriend."
Wen Ran’s face showed no clear expression change: "Of course, driving is my job, and I will naturally follow the normal work arrangents from my superiors. I believe Ms. Wan Ning is not soone who would purposely make things difficult at work just because I’m your ex-boyfriend’s current wife, right?"
"Why wouldn’t I be that kind of person?"
"Because I trust Ah Lie’s judgnt. The woman he once liked would never be a workplace scher."
Jiang Wan Ning’s lips twitched: "Naturally."
Wen Ran smiled lightly, every expression and look perfectly appropriate, leaving Jiang Wan Ning without a taunting point to pick on.
Seeing Jiang Wan Ning fall silent, Wen Ran gently asked, "Ms. Wan Ning, have you finished saying what you wanted to talk to about today?"
The latter smirked proudly: "That’s all for now, but we’ll have many opportunities to et at the Fu Group. If I have other matters to discuss with Driver Wen, I’ll find you."
Wen Ran glanced at her, about to say sothing when her phone suddenly rang.
She glanced at the caller ID —
Boss.
Wen Ran answered without hesitation, calling out, "Husband."
Fu Chenlie asked her, "Where are you?"
The latter smiled lightly: "Ms. Wan Ning sohow got my phone number and arranged to et at the park near the hospital. I’m chatting with her now. Do you need for sothing?"
Hearing this, Jiang Wan Ning looked at Wen Ran in disbelief.
Her lips moved slightly, seemingly wanting to explain, but realizing Wen Ran was just talking on the phone with Fu Chenlie, she forced herself to take a deep breath and remain calm.
"You t with Wan Ning?" Fu Chenlie asked her.
Wen Ran affird.
"I’m coming over to find you now."
"No need, we’ve talked enough. I’m planning to head ho now. You must be busy at the office. If there’s sothing you want to tell , let’s discuss it when we et at ho tonight.
With that, Fu Chenlie didn’t insist further, leaving it at a simple "Okay": "ssage when you get ho."
"Okay."
When Wen Ran hung up the phone and looked at Jiang Wan Ning, she noticed her expression wasn’t good.
Ignoring it, she said, "Ms. Wan Ning, I heard from my husband that you fainted at ho right after getting off the plane last night and were still in the hospital for tests this morning. Since you’re so weak, you shouldn’t be running around; it’s better to return to the hospital soon."
"Did Ah Lie tell you all this?"
"Yes, my husband usually tells what he’s doing in advance so I won’t worry."
With those words, Wen Ran smiled and said "Goodbye," then turned to leave.
Watching her silhouette disappear, Jiang Wan Ning suddenly felt that the battle to win back Fu Chenlie was more challenging than she had imagined.
