Her downcast eyes moved slightly, and casually, a slight smile appeared at the corner of her mouth.

Very faint, almost as if it wasn’t there.

She replied to him, "No need, it’s already been resolved."

Fu Chenlie responded with a "hmm" and didn’t drop the topic, but instead asked with concern, "Last night, I gathered from what you said that your friend was in trouble. Ms. Jiang, is she okay?"

Hearing his concerned voice, Wen Ran let out a self-deprecating laugh.

A short syllable slipped out from her throat, reaching the man thousands of miles away.

This sound made Fu Chenlie frown: "What’s wrong?"

Wen Ran denied it three tis in a row: "Nothing’s wrong, nothing at all. The boss must be very busy, right? You go on with your work; I’m going to sleep now, goodbye."

Just when she was about to hang up, the man called out to her, "Wen Ran!"

"What is it now?"

"I found Wan Ning."

The hand holding her phone suddenly tightened.

It was her turn to speak.

However, she didn’t know what to say.

After a brief silence, Wen Ran pulled the corner of her lips into a smile, "Congratulations, after searching for so long, you finally got what you wanted. Now you don’t have to worry about looking for her anymore."

"She’s ill and needs to be hospitalized for a while, I’ll take care of her here for a couple of days and then return to Jiang City."

"Got it."

Fu Chenlie began making arrangents for her, "You rest in Jiang City for a couple of days. If you’re bored at the Huan Island Villa, you can go back to Grandma’s. I’ll pick you up when I return."

"You don’t need to pick up."

"Why?"

Wen Ran’s tone was indistinguishable in emotion: "There’s no need. Just let know when you co back, and I’ll return to the villa myself."

He didn’t give a clear response, only saying, "We’ll be in touch then."

"Mm, hanging up."

"Madam–"

Wen Ran failed to hang up again, her tone suddenly more impatient, "Can you say everything at once?"

On the other end, the man seed puzzled by her sudden coldness, "What’s wrong with you?"

"Nothing’s wrong. If you have sothing to say, just say it."

"Mrs. Fu, in Jiang City, have you missed ?"

She tilted her head, moved her eyes around, forcing the mist in her eyes to dissipate, and simply replied, "No."

"Why not?"

"Why should I miss a man who was in such a hurry to go abroad for his first love? I’m not the person in his heart, so why should I eagerly like him?"

Fu Chenlie let out a slight sneer, "When you like soone, do you consider whether they like you back?"

"Otherwise, what should I consider?"

"Let’s not talk about it now, Wan Ning woke up; I’ll go check on her."

Wen Ran’s nails pressed into her palm, feeling inexplicably that his words were truly cruel.

She didn’t reply with a single word, just hung up the phone directly.

Putting down her phone, Wen Ran curled up on the sofa, only feeling that the air around her dropped several degrees, chilling her back.

Fu Chenlie’s words replayed in her mind over and over—

I found Wan Ning.

I found Wan Ning.

I found Wan Ning.

Jiang Wan Ning, the person who existed for her like a ticking ti bomb, was finally found.

Her husband was currently abroad with her, turning off his phone for her, unable to receive calls from her, Mrs. Fu, forcing her best friend into a marriage.

Wen Ran knew clearly in her heart that she couldn’t help Ah Yan because of her own incompetence.

But Fu Chenlie found Jiang Wan Ning; yet sohow, she felt wronged and wanted to bla it all on that man.

It’s all his fault.

After a strong surge of resentnt in her heart, Wen Ran was forced to consider another issue she had pondered countless tis in the dead of night—

When Fu Chenlie brings Jiang Wan Ning back, what should she do then?
