As the two approached, Grandma asked, "Ranran, Tianxin, why did only the two of you co? Where’s Jiayue?"

Just as Wen Ran was about to speak, Fu Tianxin hastily said, "She claid that sister-in-law is just a tool used by brother to appease Grandma. I was upset when I heard it and scolded her, so she probably felt too embarrassed to co here and went to her parents instead."

Grandma imdiately frowned, "What nonsense is that child talking about!"

Fu Chenlie’s expression also darkened considerably.

He looked at Wen Ran, saw her lips slightly pursed, and noticed a hint of embarrassnt she tried in vain to hide, which triggered a strange sensation in his heart.

Had she been bullied just after leaving his side?

Grandma reached out, pulled Wen Ran to sit beside her, and said, "Ranran, don’t overthink it. Jiayue is close to Jiang Wan Ning, so she might be biased against you. Let’s just ignore her."

Wen Ran softly responded, "Grandma, I don’t mind."

She then smiled at the elder, who felt heartache watching her.

Being spoken to so harshly; how could anyone not care?

Grandma knew Wen Ran said this only to avoid worrying her and felt sowhat guilty.

Holding her hand, Grandma carefully said, "Ranran, are you doing well at Huan Island Villa? If you really don’t want to continue living with Ah Lie, Grandma agrees that you can divorce him now."

Wen Ran looked at her in shock, "Grandma, are you... are you serious?"

Her grandmother nodded firmly, "Yes, you are a good girl, deserving of soone who sees your worth and cherishes you. I was too hasty before, pushing you into a pit of fire."

"Who’s a pit of fire?" Fu Chenlie said with a harsh tone, interrupting them.

Wen Ran instinctively turned toward the sound, his displeasure evident on his face, his eyes cold and dark.

She imdiately averted her gaze.

At that mont, Grandma snorted coldly, "Don’t you know?"

Fu Chenlie looked displeased and didn’t respond to Grandma but turned to Wen Ran, "Do you want a divorce?"

Of course, Wen Ran wanted a divorce.

But seeing the look in his eyes, she felt that if she dared say "yes," he would certainly crush her.

She didn’t speak, but shook her head.

The man’s lips curled in satisfaction, then he looked at Grandma, "Grandma, my bringing her today was to keep you company, not to discuss divorce. And also, getting married was your insistence, so is the divorce supposed to be your decision, too? Do I look like soone who can be manipulated so easily?"

Grandma snorted coldly and glared at him, "If you don’t want a divorce, then treat our Ranran better. Stop showing off in front of !"

Fu Tianxin also caught the intention behind her brother’s words and tily added, "Yeah, brother, be nicer to sister-in-law. I really like her. You two must stay together forever in happiness."

Fu Chenlie glanced at her expressionlessly.

Upon seeing her smiling at him with her heavily made-up dark eyes, he scoffed internally.

Wen Ran remained silent.

...

At lunchti, Fu Jiayue did not return.

Only Wen Ran, Fu Chenlie, Fu Tianxin, and Grandma sat at the dining table, the atmosphere pleasant and harmonious.

After lunch, Wen Ran stayed awhile to chat with Grandma.

When Fu Tianxin was helping Grandma go upstairs for a nap, Wen Ran and Fu Chenlie left.

As Wen Ran casually walked shoulder to shoulder with Fu Chenlie toward the door, her wrist was suddenly grabbed by the man.

Her first reaction was to look down at her captured wrist and then look up to et his gaze, puzzled, "What’s wrong?"

His eyes were complex as he stared intently at her and spoke in a deep voice, "Did Fu Jiayue bully you?"
