No matter how fearso Fu Chenlie was in the business world, causing many to shudder at the re ntion of his na and keep their distance, in front of Granny Fu, he was just a genuine grandson without much real say.
At the mont, he could only keep silent.
Granny Fu suddenly asked again, "Where do you plan to take us to eat?"
"Zhongyuan Restaurant."
"Good. I’ll now call Lu Jinglun, so he can co and get to know Ranran."
Fu Chenlie looked displeased, "Is it appropriate to inform him about dinner on such short notice?"
Granny Fu glared at him, "Can’t I ask him if he’s free before inviting him to dinner? I’ve eaten more salt than you have rice, do I need you to teach how to handle things?!"
His thin lips pressed into a straight line, he said no more.
Wen Ran watched Fu Chenlie repeatedly get put in his place in front of Grandma, and she felt a bit of schadenfreude.
Serves him right!
That’s what he gets for being tough on her.
Granny Fu called Lu Jinglun, who not only was free but also happened to be near the restaurant. Without hesitation, he agreed to join them for dinner.
She was very pleased. After hanging up the phone, she turned to Wen Ran, "The grandson of your Grandma Lu has a very good character, so much better than my grandson, and he is especially good at making girls happy. You’ll have fun learning to drive with him."
In the driver’s seat, Fu Chenlie listened as Granny Fu enthusiastically sold Lu Jinglun to Wen Ran and took a dig at him, feeling aggrieved.
Who was her real grandson, after all?!
He glanced in the rearview mirror.
That silly woman, Wen Ran, looked quite pleased and cheerily said to Granny, "Thank you, Grandma, for going to the trouble of finding a driving instructor."
"Hey, I’m happy to."
"Then I’ll tell my classmate that he doesn’t need to bother anymore."
"Alright, go ahead."
"Okay!"
Wen Ran ssaged Zhao Xiuyun, thanking him for taking the ti to teach her driving today. She also apologized for standing him up last minute and not joining him for dinner, and then she told him that she wouldn’t need his driving lessons for the ti being, but they could still et for dinner soti.
Zhao Xiuyun was easygoing and readily agreed.
However, he also tentatively asked her—
[Ranran, why do I feel like Granny Fu especially wants to match you with your boss?]
Wen Ran saw the ssage and instinctively adjusted her sitting posture.
Zhao Xiuyun had noticed?!
She and Fu Chenlie had an agreent—she couldn’t reveal the nature of their relationship.
Wen Ran: [Just now, it was my boss who did sothing wrong, and Grandma was just making him apologize to . I wouldn’t like soone with such low emotional intelligence as my boss. Don’t overthink it.]
Zhao Xiuyun: [Haha, I was just asking.]
...
Ten minutes later, the car stopped outside the restaurant.
After getting out of the car, Wen Ran helped Granny Fu walk towards the restaurant entrance.
Perhaps Fu Chenlie really was a filial person at heart; he walked ahead to the entrance and held the door open for Granny Fu.
As Wen Ran was helping Granny Fu into the restaurant, a lazy voice laced with amusent drifted over from not far away, "Grandma, it’s been a few months, and you’ve gotten even younger!"
Following the source of the voice, Wen Ran caught sight of a handso, delicate face.
The man was wearing a well-tailored light blue shirt, his every move exuding an indefinable nonchalance; clearly, he was a veteran of the romance scene.
Granny Fu, flattered by the complint, bead, "You rascal, you’re still so good with words."
Once they got closer, Lu Jinglun’s beautiful eyes landed on Wen Ran’s face, "Grandma, who is this by your side?"
"This is Wen Ran, Ah Lie’s new wife," Granny Fu introduced.
"Oh?" Lu Jinglun glanced at Fu Chenlie, his smile ambiguous, "So you have a thing for the ’Little White Rabbit’ type, huh?"
