She didn’t speak, but her eyes, as they looked at him, were filled with defiance and disobedience.

The man’s expression carried a trace of arrogance that seed to stem from his very bones, his voice cold and disdainful, "Keep looking at like that, and see if I don’t make you cry right here."

She wasn’t sure if his words had frightened her...

Wen Ran’s almond eyes flickered, and she hesitantly averted her gaze.

Fu Chenlie raised his hand, gently touching her face.

His thumb, calloused, lightly traced her cheek, carrying with it a hint of lingering harshness if there was any tenderness.

He looked at her coolly, "Rember, don’t test my patience. If you truly anger , I’m afraid you won’t be able to handle it. Be smart, and at least in terms of money, I won’t let you suffer."

She bit her lip and stayed silent.

The man tightened his grip on her chin, his tone deliberately punishing, "Cat got your tongue?"

Wen Ran brushed off his hand, her anger barely contained as she asked him, "Are you still going to the social engagent?"

Fu Chenlie was surprised that she dared to speak to him like that at that mont.

Just then, she even managed a smile, trying to sound light-hearted, "If I delay the negotiation of a contract worth hundreds of millions because of , even if you killed in bed, it wouldn’t be worth it..."

After saying this, Wen Ran turned and walked towards the passenger side.

Almost the mont she turned around, her vision blurred with a foggy moisture.

She swirled her eyes, holding back the tears.

Fu Chenlie watched her retreating figure, his expression extrely complicated.

He actually felt that he could no longer see through this seemingly straightforward woman.

Usually obedient and cheerfully innocent, as if she was the most blaless and naive person in the world, but at tis, she was stubborn to the core, courageously impressive even to soone like him who had navigated the business world for many years.

Wen Ran could be said to be the only person over the years who dared defy him!

And she was a woman!

Fu Chenlie couldn’t help but suspect that this woman was specifically brought by Grandma to deal with him.

No, to tornt him!

A nesis!

Thud—

The passenger door was slamd shut by Wen Ran.

Lost in thought, Fu Chenlie snapped back to reality.

He closed his eyes, suppressed the displeasure within, and then opened the driver’s door to get into the car.

On the way, the man felt an inexplicable irritation within his chest because he hadn’t completely subdued Wen Ran earlier, causing him great discomfort.

...

Twenty minutes later, at the hotel.

As Fu Chenlie entered the private room, a table full of people were seated inside.

He was the last to arrive.

The business partners stood up to greet him when they saw him, but upon noticing he was accompanied by a woman, they couldn’t help asking, "Mr. Fu, who is this lady behind you?"

Fu Chenlie responded indifferently with two words: "The driver."

"Oh, so she’s the driver. She’s so pretty, I thought she was your girlfriend."

Soone at the table interjected, "President Gao, Mr. Fu has been celibate for many years, how could he suddenly have a girlfriend? Do you think everyone is like you, always chasing after the new?"

"That’s true, Mr. Fu has eyes only for Ms. Wan Ning," President Gao responded, while observing Fu Chenlie’s expression.

Almost at the instant the na "Ms. Wan Ning" was ntioned, the man’s eyes darkened.

His imperious gaze swept over the people present, his voice chillingly cold, "Are you here to discuss business, or to talk about won?"

The other executives exchanged looks, too frightened to even breathe.

The silence lasted about twenty seconds before soone boldly tried to lighten the mood, "Mr. Fu, please have a seat, let’s talk business over dinner."

Fu Chenlie unbuttoned his suit and took a seat, glancing at Wen Ran who was still standing, "Co over."
