Chapter 714: Chapter 81: Shooting
The sprawling real-life filming studio covered thousands of square ters and was divided into several areas, so dense with trees like a tropical rainforest, so covered with yellow sand resembling a Gobi desert, grasslands, river valleys—each scene was extrely realistic. Giant green screens were pulled up on the towering walls of the studio, this was the film shooting base specially built by Pioneer Headquarters for “Pet Beast Chronicles.”
In a mountainous area strewn with rocks, the nearly six-ter-tall Yaya stood restlessly among the rubble. Around it, dozens of crew mbers were busy making final preparations for the shoot.
Its amber-colored vertical pupils moved around, and it only relaxed when it saw that familiar figure.
Shao Zifeng was dressed in a fitted black leather armor, his carefully designed long hair casually draped behind him, a leather strap tied around his forehead, and asymtrical black cape fixed on his right shoulder—this outfit from the ga highlighted his outstanding temperant even more.
Perched on his shoulder, Qiqi wore so small accessories, the little guy’s deep blue eyes converged together, staring intently at the blue gemstone embedded in the forehead.
It raised its little paw wanting to touch it, but feared it might smudge off, looking very adorable.
Standing beside Shao Zifeng was a female assistant, holding docunts and speaking about sothing.
The young assistant’s face was tinged with a light blush, seemingly a bit shy to et Shao Zifeng’s eyes, “Duke, the first phase requires taking a set of photoshoots for you and your pet beasts. It would be best if the pet beasts could perform so skills to coordinate.”
Shao Zifeng nodded, “Alright, is there anything else I should pay attention to?”
“Um…” The female assistant flipped through a few pages of docunts, “According to the latest update plan, as the spokesperson, the ga models of you and your pet beasts will undergo so optimizations. Let see… the list needing optimizations includes your Fire Dragon King, Rockslide, Starlight Queen…” (People outside aren’t aware of the nas of Shao Zifeng’s pet beasts.)
“Wait.” Shao Zifeng frowned as he glanced at the docunt in the assistant’s hand, “There are so pet beasts that are currently inconvenient for shooting.”
The assistant paused surprised, then she looked up at Shao Zifeng; her breathing gradually beca rapid when her gaze t his, “I… you… give a list of those that can’t participate in shooting, and I’ll ask around for you.”
Once Shao Zifeng ntioned Lingling’s na, the young girl quickly marked it on the docunt and ran off.
“Zifeng, why can’t it be fild, duck~” After the young girl left, Qiqi’s puzzled voice ca near Shao Zifeng’s ear, “Isn’t being on TV a very happy thing?”
Shao Zifeng held Qiqi in his arms, gently stroking its smooth fur, “Because Lingling is evolving.”
“Oh.” Qiqi made an expression of sudden realization, “Then when it finishes evolving and sees us on TV, it will definitely be unhappy.”
Shao Zifeng playfully tapped its little nose, “You think everyone is like you, huh?”
“ow~”
Qiqi restlessly wriggled in Shao Zifeng’s arms, making owing noises.
Soon after, Shao Zifeng saw the female assistant running back, with Li Changfeng who was panting heavily beside her.
He ran up to Shao Zifeng, gasping heavily, “Duke… Duke, I heard from Xiaoyi that your Starlight Queen isn’t convenient for participating in the shooting?”
Shao Zifeng nodded, “Yes.”
“How can it be inconvenient?” Li Changfeng looked sowhat anxious, “We’ve put so much effort into this update, and moreover, this was an assignnt from higher-ups, you…”
Xiaoyi, seeing Li Changfeng’s faux pas, quickly reached out to tug on his sleeve.
Shao Zifeng looked down at him, his tone containing a hint of impatience, “Are you threatening ?”
“I…” Li Changfeng clenched his teeth and said softly, “Sorry, I’ve been overwheld recently, I didn’t an that.”
At that mont, a middle-aged man dressed in a vest full of pockets, looking like a director, called out to them, “Director Li, we’re ready over here, we can start now.”
Shao Zifeng huffed lightly and walked towards the shooting location, holding Qiqi.
Xiao Ai looked helplessly at Li Changfeng before trotting away.
Watching Shao Zifeng’s retreating figure, Li Changfeng clenched his fists tightly; he took a deep breath and replaced it with a smile, “All departnts, get in place, prepare for shooting.”
…
“Roar!!”
The amber eyes of Yaya sparkled, and its domineering roar echoed inside the studio.
The director, intently watching the wild Yaya on the monitor, excitedly shouted through the gaphone, “Yes, yes, just like that, bring on a Rockslide!”
Boom!
As his words ended, the ground of the entire studio shook, forming a collapse pit centered around Yaya; dense web-like cracks quickly extended outward, and rubble burst into the air, creating a powerful visual impact.
When the rubble hit the ground, the trembling also ceased, and everyone’s eyes turned towards the director, especially the prop designers who would have to work for another half day if the director disapproved.
“Great! Fantastic!” The director excitedly slapped his thigh, “This take is good, everyone has worked hard, prepare for the next one.”
Hearing his words, the staff cheered and hurriedly started to pack up, moving to the next location.
Li Changfeng, watching Shao Zifeng not far away, tried once more, “Duke…”
“Sorry.” Shao Zifeng glanced at Li Changfeng and turned to leave; he had never liked this man, and now his impression was even worse.
It was hard to describe the feeling, but he subconsciously didn’t want to interact too much with him.
After several location changes, the photoshoot for Qiuqiu, the deer, and Jingjing had finished; now it was Beibei’s turn.
In the misty lotus pond, fish swam among the blossoms while Qiqi stood on a small bridge, her face full of naive joy, watching the fish in the pond.
The director, staring at the monitor, said, “Yes, kitten, take another step forward and pretend to fall in… good, now.”
“ow~”
Qiqi, panicking, fell towards the pond when suddenly a burst of white smoke rose into the sky, lifting her body.
As the smoke ascended, it continually transford, depicting fish, birds, sprinting deer, and flying dragons, which successively appeared in midair, eventually forming a white kitten just like Qiqi.
The two kittens faced each other on the bridge, one backed by ink-like lingering smoke, with various creatures morphing within it, looking like a classical ink painting.
The director excitedly jumped off his chair, “Great! Fantastic! This take is good too.”
After a busy afternoon, the staff revealed tired smiles while Qiqi joyfully ran towards Shao Zifeng, and the white cat Beibei blinked and followed closely behind.
Shao Zifeng squatted down and hugged the two little ones, “You’ve worked hard.”
Qiqi squinted her eyes and rubbed against his palm, “Not hard at all, so happy ow~”
Beibei mimicked the motion and rubbed too, “Beibei~”
As Shao Zifeng was petting the cats, Li Changfeng approached once more.
“Duke, there is a battle scene to shoot next, could you prepare a little?”
