Chapter 535: Chapter 534: We’re All n, I Understand
June 25, 2021.
People of Daxia welcod the second phase of the competition in the hot sumr season.
“Hello, dear viewers, what you’re seeing right now is a live broadcast from the Imperial Capital Broadcasting Television Station, and I’m your host, Tan Xin’an.” After the young man in a suit introduced himself and paused briefly, he looked towards the two guests opposite him. “These two are our competition comntators, Shang Zijun and Dong Ningshuang. Welco to our live studio.”
Once the two guests had greeted the cara, host Tan Xin’an continued, “I believe the first phase of the competition has left a deep impression on everyone. Regarding the previous matches, I’m sure the audience would love to hear the insight from our esteed comntators.”
“Let share my thoughts first,” Shang Zijun brushed a stubborn lock of hair on top of his head. “I must say, the first stage of the competition was very disappointing to .”
Dong Ningshuang blinked in surprise, slightly astonished that Shang Zijun would make such a comnt during a live broadcast at the Imperial Capital Broadcasting Television Station.
The expression on Tan Xin’an’s face faltered slightly, “Disappointnt, I wouldn’t say that…right?”
Shang Zijun spoke agitatedly, “How can you not? Look at their performance. Seeing the new generation of our country so slack, I am truly angered inside. They have already forgotten how the older generation struggled so hard. How can we confidently entrust the future…”
Young viewers watching the live broadcast suddenly felt unhappy upon seeing the person talking non-stop on-screen, as various barrages of comnts instantly flooded the screen.
“Who’s this old geezer, doesn’t he have a brain when he talks?”
“Maybe he’s here to exercise his intelligence…”
“Isn’t intelligence supposed to be developed before the age of three? Shouldn’t he apply for intellectual disability benefits?”
“Don’t talk nonsense, my two-year-old daughter speaks better than him.”
The live barrage of comnts was filled with attacks, seriously affecting the flow of the program.
“Ahem.”
After getting feedback from backstage, Tan Xin’an placed his fist to his mouth and coughed lightly, “Excuse , Mr. Shang, I have to interrupt you for a mont. We’ve just received news from the front that the first round of competing teams are now in position. Let’s hand the ti over to our reporter on the field.”
Without caring whether Shang Zijun was happy or not, the live broadcast swiftly switched to the central venue.
The young female reporter on screen was youthful and beautiful, with a sweet smile on her face. The oversized T-shirt she was wearing couldn’t hide her proud figure, and instead, it added a playful charm.
Behind her was the center venue capable of accommodating 100,000 people, with the audience seats buzzing with noises. The cheers and whistles of the crowd were endless, and many of them had colorful school emblems on their faces, trying to grab the cara’s attention with various antics behind the reporter.
The viewers who were just aggressively spouting criticisms were now captivated by the female reporter, and they began expressing their opinions, making the barrage beco unusually harmonious.
“Good morning, friends in the audience, hello Tan Xin’an. My na is Wang Luoling, and I’m here at the central venue. As you can see, the audience is very enthusiastic. Next, I will introduce the first-round participants for you, they are…”
In the players’ preparation area, Shao Zifeng’s gaze was scouring the contestants for sothing.
With more than 400 institutions participating in this competition, even if you discount those unlucky ones already eliminated, there were still over 2,000 competing students. Therefore, finding one or two familiar faces under these circumstances was quite challenging.
“Captain, what are you looking for?”
At that mont, Hu Shiwu’s faint voice ca from beside him, startling Shao Zifeng.
He glanced sideways at Hu Shiwu and said indifferently, “I want to see where Li Jiang University of Political Science is.”
With Hu Shiwu’s consistent disregard, Shao Zifeng had basically beco accustod to being called ‘Captain’ by strangers every day.
“Hmm?” Hu Shiwu looked at him dubiously.
Feeling sowhat uncomfortable under his gaze, Shao Zifeng countered, “Why are you looking at like that?”
Hu Shiwu suddenly revealed an understanding look, and with a mischievous grin, he squinted his eyes, “No need to explain, I get it.”
?
Shao Zifeng was utterly baffled.
You understand jack.
Hu Shiwu looked around and then lowered his voice in a cheeky manner, “The captain must be checking out a pretty lady, right? I get it; we’re all n here.”
“I just found a few of good quality earlier but had no one to share with. Don’t look back at now, look to your left, at the missy facing the cara.”
Shao Zifeng instinctively glanced in the direction he indicated, and saw a reporter with fair skin and a beautiful appearance…
Pah!
He quickly shook his head, feeling sowhat hazy about the mory he just had, as if sothing was instantly forgotten, creating a gap in his recollection.
Wasn’t I looking for Wang Hao? Why was I suddenly staring at that missy?
While he was pondering over life, an arm draped over his shoulder, and a sowhat familiar voice rang in his ear, “Hehe, captain, isn’t this missy really hot? I’m telling you, this type of missy is top-notch, not at all like Yiren, who’s just a green young girl. If I…”
Shao Zifeng turned to see Hu Shiwu’s sleazy face, and his previously fuzzy mories instantly connected.
Thinking back on everything, Shao Zifeng didn’t even bother to look for Wang Hao anymore. He said with a dark face, “If you screw up, focus on the ga.”
“Oh.”
Hu Shiwu’s face showed so unwillingness.
Clearly, it was the captain who wanted to look at the lady, yet he snapped at him.
“What are you two discussing? The match is about to start.” Amidst the roar of the crowd, Yu Xiaoyu turned back, put on a straight face, and began lecturing, “Although many teams have been eliminated, we can’t take it lightly.”
Having been lectured by him in front of so many people yesterday, Yu Xiaoyu was ready to assert her authority as a teacher to quash him!
Shao Zifeng sat down next to Yu Xiaoyu, glanced at the ssy competition venue, and asked, “Have you noticed any schools worth focusing on?”
Because the main competition area was so large and divided into ten parts for simultaneous matches, it made it difficult to watch the entire competition. Unless there was a team already of interest, it was easy to get distracted.
Yu Xiaoyu frowned upon hearing this, mumbling uncertainly, not knowing how to respond.
She didn’t understand the competition at all. Why would you ask her such a difficult question? When her school sent her here, they only ntioned handling logistics!
The two stared at each other, and the atmosphere suddenly beca delicate. Yu Xiaoyu wanted to appear strong, but the more she faced Shao Zifeng’s calm gaze, the more her resolve wavered.
“Captain.”
At that mont, Li Yiming’s voice ca from beside them, and Yu Xiaoyu quickly breathed a sigh of relief.
Shao Zifeng turned his head, “What’s up, Yiming.”
Li Yiming pointed forward, “Look at that competition area.”
Following his direction, Shao Zifeng’s expression slightly stiffened.
Wang Hao was in the midst of a battle.
(PS: I’ve been struggling with this part of the plot for the past two days, but now I’ve figured it out. The competition was set up in advance, and it’s the key to kicking off the next part of the story; I can’t just skip over it. However, I will try to minimize the fight descriptions in the beginning, which I’ve ntioned before in the book fan’s circle. The outco of this competition is not the goal of this segnt, but an important turning point for the whole story’s direction.)
