"Of course, thank you." Sabrina smiled at the man who’d handed a laptop over to her.
"You better be careful, Sabrina. I an, you’re tech good, but doing this sort of job for people, it’s a bit kind of risky. Don’t you think so?" the man asked worriedly.
She smirked at him, shaking her head. "I’m fine. There’s nothing to worry about." She waved at him. "Good bye Jiandro." Walking off, she proceeded to bag the device, however, sothing dragged her attention, bringing her to a stop.
Turning her head, she paused at the incredibly massive building that looked like it was almost touching the sky. The size was enough to make one dizzy, but that was expected as it was a company.
Bratva to be specific.
The entrance was frad by tall, sleek posts, between which a deep midnight blue collapsible barrier stretched out shut.
She dragged a deep breath. No matter how hard she’d tried, she hadn’t really been able to find anything on Nikolas Bastiani. And here she stood now in front of Bratava, the company she suspected he was the boss of.
Shaking her head, she was about to leave, but then sothing snatched her attention. The retractable barrier gate was being opened by the security n. And just a few minutes later, she saw two cars approaching, which made her hurry over to hide from sight.
The first car was a Rolls Royce, speeding into the parking lot of the company. Following behind was a BMW.
Her heart was pounding as she watched. Who was coming down from that car?
A pair of italian shoes settled on the concrete floor before a figure rose to a full height which she didn’t doubt was over 6’5. And she could swear she knew soone who was that tall.
"No way, it couldn’t be." Sabrina shook her head. She’d been trying to find a way for over two weeks now, and this is how she was going to find out?
The figure weaved his fingers through his hair. And she saw the rings. There was no mistaking it! That was the exact ring Viviana had given that man—she’d presented it at their wedding, so she knew!
Impossible!
There’s no way—
Her eyes widened, and her pupils shrunk to the size of a pin. He’d turned. Nikolas Bastiani had turned, because in front of the skyscraper, there were n and won dressed so professionally in suits. Definitely Bratva workers. And in unison, they bowed deeply, not rising until this man gave a nod.
But that wasn’t even what shocked her.
It was the fact that standing behind him, was the man the world knew as Nikolas Bastiani bowing to him. Freaking bowing to him!
The rumours had been right. This man was just a proxy. The real Nikolas Bastiani kept himself anonymous and he was...
Sabrian slapped a palm over her mouth.
Viviana’s husband.
’This is insane!’
’Oh this is crazy’
"Viviana is married to Nikolas Bastiani." Sabrina swallowed. "That makes no...sense." That day a month and a half ago, she’d seen Nikolas’s picture from the woman who claid to be his friend, she’d only approved of it because he was stupidly handso.
A beautiful woman like Viviana deserved to try a handso man, not an average like Fernando.
To think she’d ended up accidentally matching her with the real Nikolas Bastiani.
"I knew it!" She covered her mouth, trying not to scream. "I knew it. There was no way he was just a random man. I freaking knew it. My intuitions never lie!"
Sneaking out of her hiding place, she tried to hurry off, but stopped.
If she just told Viviana that her husband was Thee Nikolas Bastiani, she wouldn’t believe her right? At least, not without evidence.
So, she needs concrete evidence, one that would give Viviana no room for doubt.
"Oh, I will be back, Nikolas Bastiani." Sabrina grinned. "I have no clue why you’re keeping your identity a secret, but you will not be keeping my best friend in the dark. And I care for her above all else."
Gripping her bag, she walked off, gleeful that she’d finally solved this.
———
Viviana walked into her company, lifting her head to look around. Just like Dawn had said, the entire place had been completed. The rooms, working halls, offices, designing rooms, they were all ready, clean and cleared.
"What do you think?" Dawn, who held a massive smile, walked up to stand beside her.
Viviana nodded. "It’s good. We should be able to launch fully by the first of next month." She looked at her. "Dawn, are you sure about working for ? And not at my father’s company?"
Dawn smiled widely. "Boss, my family are well off, so I didn’t really need the job. I jsut didn’t want to be bored at ho, and that was why I went for it in the first place. So, no, I have no problems working for you."
"Is that so?"
She nodded.
Viviana let out a soft breath. "I’ll transfer your paynt to you a little later. And as for the—" Her phone pinged.
She fished it out of her bag and looked at the screen to find out it was an alert. The money had been transferred back into her account, nonetheless by...
Her face fell.
Nikolas.
He sent the money back to her. What was his problem? This was their initial agreent in the beginning. Why wouldn’t he take it now?
Viviana glanced at Dawn. "Give a second." She walked off, dialing Nikolas.
"Nikolas!"
[Hi, sweetheart]
"First of all, do not call that. Now, my question is, why did you send that money back?"
[Woke up on the wrong side of the bed, Darling? Or are you still just mad at for last night]
"Don’t test , Nikolas."
[Yes, ma’am. I’m so scared]
Viviana’s left eye twitched. "You know I happen to assu you were only insufferable in person. To think over the phone wasn’t an exception."
[Are you sure about that?]
"I’m not going to do this with you. I am working and I do not appreciate you ssing around with . Now, I’m going to send that money back and don’t you dare—"
[I’ll send it right back]
"Nikolas—"
[That deal is long dead. We don’t need it, because this thing between you and I, it’s not contractual, and you know it. Don’t waste your ti]
"Nikolas."
[Yes, Viviana] He spilled her na. And she could hear the smirk he probably had all over his face right now.
Vivaian swallowed, rapidly flickering her eyes. She threw her head back, took a deep breath and ended the call.
She breathlessly reached up her hand to her pounding chest, clutching. Her throat bobbed as she swallowed, and she turned on her feet only to find Dawn passing by.
"Oh, boss there’s a package dow..." Dawn’s words trailed off.
Vivaian raised a brow. "What?"
"You’re beet red."
"Huh?"
Dawn pointed. "Your...face... is beet red."
Viviana dilated her pupils at her. "I was angry." She blurted out coldly, storming past her to leave.
Dawn glanced over at her, shouting out after her, "A delivery ca for you downstairs."
Vivaian paused. "A delivery?"
What delivery? And why would anyone send her sothing here?
