Chapter 269: Chapter 266: Why Sister Dao Likes Won

On the way to the company, Ye Fan’s thoughts raced, contemplating various matters. Whether it was dark forces or elite teams like those on the surface, countries categorize power into nine levels, divided into nine stars.

People like Du Xueqi and others have power at the six-star level, which already marks them as top-notch assassins.

Internationally, saying soone’s danger level is a certain number of stars represents how strong that person is.

Breaking through the shackles of six stars and advancing to seven stars is a qualitative leap that very few can achieve.

Ye Fan could guess that the captain of the Ghost Squad, Ghost, is likely a seven-star danger level. Such a person is already a legendary strongman, though in his eyes, that’s all it is.

"The Blood Rose has sent people to kill again. Should we be on special alert?" ngyao interrupted Ye Fan’s thoughts.

"Just be a bit more cautious, no need to scare ourselves into constant vigilance. Zhang Lu has almost uprooted the Red Skull’s forces completely. Although the Ghost Squad’s individual skills are strong, they’re like blind n now. It’s impossible to plan a ticulous assassination without accurate intel, so there’s no need for extra caution. From this probe, it’s clear they’re gathering intelligence," Ye Fan said dismissively, then gently admonished, "Don’t worry about anything. I won’t let anyone harm a hair on your head."

"As long as you’re by my side, I’m not afraid of anything," ngyao chuckled lightly.

At the company, they basically summarized the matters regarding the auction of the Jinluo Bay project. Tomorrow is the auction day, and everything that needs preparation has been prepared. Now it’s a matter of whether the efforts will yield the expected results tomorrow.

In the blink of an eye, after a busy day, Ye Fan and ngyao went back to the villa early.

...

At the hiding place of the Ghost Squad, Ghost looked at Minako and the short man with a sorrowful expression and asked unhappily, "Tell , what exactly happened? Where is Takeko Jiro?"

Takeko Jiro was the suit-wearing man who died at the hands of the five won led by Du Xueqi. Although Ghost had hinted to Minako that if circumstances forced them to abandon Takeko Jiro, it was acceptable, as the captain, he naturally had to show concern for his team mbers’ lives in front of others. This was his duty as a captain. Even if there was an inclination not to care about an individual’s life or death, it could only be decided in secret—such things could not be known to others.

"He died, at the hands of five k-mbers," Minako said indignantly.

"How is that possible?"

"Weren’t the k-mbers all sacrificed?"

"Besides, we trained them personally, how could they possibly betray the organization?"

"Impossible, definitely impossible."

The Ghost Squad mbers were slightly agitated, each one finding it unbelievable.

"Are you sure you weren’t mistaken? Takeko Jiro died at the hands of k-mbers who the organization thought were dead?" Ghost asked, staring at Minako, word by word.

"I swear on my life, there was absolutely no mistake," Minako pledged confidently.

"What do you say?" Ghost looked at the short man.

"Captain, what Minako said was entirely true. Takeko Jiro indeed died at the hands of k-mbers. If it weren’t for Minako’s decisive retreat, we might not have made it back either. We hadn’t even seen Ye Fan before encountering the five k-mbers who got out of a car. They attacked Takeko Jiro crazily, killing him in three to five moves," the short man reported truthfully, despite having too many things in his mind that didn’t make sense, now was not the ti to ponder over them.

"This?" The Ghost Squad mbers all began to believe this fact.

"Minako, you’ve done well," Ghost appropriately complinted, then said coldly, "Since that’s the case, let’s eliminate these traitors for the organization and give them no good end. We trained them, now we’ll destroy them. As for how they betrayed the organization, that’s no longer important. The main task now is to complete the mission and kill Ye Fan. The k-mbers are rely an additional task. Although it increases the difficulty of the mission, as long as the plan is precise enough, we can annihilate our targets."

The squad mbers could not refute Ghost’s words.

Eliminating traitors for the organization was sothing they had to do.

As for why the k-mbers betrayed, they had thought about it but couldn’t figure out why.

"Our conditions are still manageable; why not find a way to report this to the organization? It will surely be taken seriously. There have never been any traitors among the people trained by the organization," Minako protested unwillingly.

"Find a place and report it to the organization. This matter is too important and must be reported," Ghost ordered without dispute.

"It’s all that Red Skull, overestimating his abilities, exposing all his dealings. Now we can’t even stay in a decent place, and we eat poorly. It’s too frustrating. When have we ever suffered like this?" soone complained.

"Stop complaining and see what kind of place this is. It’s a forbidden zone for people like us. A misstep could cause big trouble. Before completing this mission, I don’t want to see anyone exposing themselves too much and leaking our whereabouts," Ghost said, his words full of killing intent. "Takeko Jiro is already dead. Anyone who disobeys my orders and acts recklessly, I will kill."

The squad mbers quieted down. Despite their dissatisfaction with their living conditions, they could only endure it.

"Minako, keep gathering information about Ye Fan, do it covertly, and be extrely careful. Find a suitable target to strike, as long as it can threaten Ye Fan," Ghost gave a strict command.

"Yes," Minako agreed.

Ghost was also frustrated. Red Skull’s death left them very passive. Whatever they did, they had to personally explore and ascertain, which was too ti-consuming.

...

Ye Fan and ngyao returned to the villa and found Xu Qianqian exhausted, lying on the sofa while Chu Biyao teased triumphantly.

"Do you know why your idol big sister, Sister Dao, likes won and not n? If you want to know, go wash so fruit and prepare to cook, and I’ll reveal so secret information to you," Chu Biyao coaxed.

Chu Biyao’s questions ca one after another, step by step enticing Xu Qianqian to do chores. Xu Qianqian, wanting firsthand information about her idol big sister, went all out.

Chu Biyao took quite so effort to make Xu Qianqian miserable.

From Zhang Lu, she gathered so information about Lu Junwen who wanted to bully Xu Qianqian, to the matters of Qiu Wen and Lu Xuehong, and until now, she found ways to make Xu Qianqian work, doing the kind of work usually done by servants.
