Chapter 1182: Chapter 1182: The Choice Between Life and Death
Ye Fan, the Third Elder, and the Fourth Elder stopped imdiately upon reaching the edge of the castle.
The Third Elder said anxiously, "Mr. Ye, things are not looking good. According to the latest information, bombs are planted throughout under the castle, and the Ghost Squad and the Hunting Team are all in danger. One wrong move, and they could all be blown to bits. If the Ghost Squad and the Hunting Team both perish, then Sky Net will suffer a loss it can never recover. What should we do?"
Facing such imnse intimidation, the Third Elder beca uneasy. If this power is truly lost, Sky Net is dood.
To eliminate Deceitful Fox, half of the Hunting Team has gathered, along with the terrifying combat force that is the Ghost Squad. This is Sky Net’s most powerful battle force. If the Ghost Squad and the six Hunting Teams are wiped out, the situation will be exceptionally dire.
"Mr. Ye, Deceitful Fox’s people have asked for you to et him personally. Deceitful Fox wants to see you face-to-face. What should we do?" The Fourth Elder revealed this issue, showing a troubled expression.
The Third and Fourth Elders truly felt ashad to ask Ye Fan to et Deceitful Fox, as it was a task of near certain death.
Ye Fan was rely a pawn used by Sky Net; they had no right to demand Ye Fan face life-threatening danger. If they made such a demand, they were unsure if Ye Fan might not react with murderous anger towards them.
Therefore, the Third and Fourth Elders were especially troubled, not knowing what to do next. The only thing they could request from Ye Fan was to ask him what to do next.
"Then I will et with Deceitful Fox. To be honest, I want to et him too. Isn’t this what you truly want?" Ye Fan said bluntly, "If I go to et Deceitful Fox and can secure the safety of the Ghost Squad and the Hunting Team withdrawing from danger, isn’t this what you desire?"
Truthfully, if Ye Fan were indeed to die at the hands of Deceitful Fox but could ensure the safe retreat of the Ghost Squad and the Hunting Team, the Third and Fourth Elders would be very pleased to see this outco. After all, Ye Fan was destined to stand against Sky Net eventually, and sacrificing Ye Fan to save the Ghost Squad and the Hunting Team was the best possible trade.
Such thoughts the Third and Fourth Elders did not dare voice; they could only ponder silently. Now that Ye Fan had exposed their intentions, they both appeared rather uncomfortable.
"Mr. Ye, you worry too much. How could we dare ask you to et Deceitful Fox alone in danger? Even if it is for the Ghost Squad and the Hunting Team, we can’t let you go alone to et Deceitful Fox." The Third Elder responded, though his heart disagreed with his words.
"Mr. Ye, do you see any other middle-ground solutions?" The Fourth Elder inquired.
"Deceitful Fox wants to see . Then I will go. Besides that, I can’t think of any other solutions." Having said this, Ye Fan strode towards the central area of the castle.
"Mr. Ye, Mr. Ye..." The Third and Fourth Elders called out anxiously but saw Ye Fan walking away without turning back, leaving them silent.
Ye Fan entered the castle while the Third and Fourth Elders dared not take a step further.
"Ye Fan’s eagerness to et Deceitful Fox is indeed beyond our expectations," the Third Elder remarked with relief. "At least agreeing to Deceitful Fox’s request gives the Ghost Squad and the Hunting Team a chance for survival."
"Let’s hope so. Even if Ye Fan dies at the hands of Deceitful Fox, saving the Ghost Squad and the Hunting Team is still a good outco." The Fourth Elder stated, "Ye Fan knows he is not his own master, and for the greater good, he must go. Since Deceitful Fox has made such a request, using the Ghost Squad and the Hunting Team as leverage to et with Ye Fan, Ye Fan has no reason to refuse."
"It’s inevitable. When it cos to sacrifice, even without asking Ye Fan to do it, he would willingly go." The Third Elder said with a mysterious smile, then suddenly looked puzzled as he recalled, "Oh wait, before we ca, Ye Fan ntioned that he wanted to see Deceitful Fox one last ti. He seed certain Deceitful Fox would et him one last ti. Could he be clairvoyant?"
"I think it might be for different reasons." The Fourth Elder considered, "Ye Fan and Deceitful Fox are mortal enemies. Now, Deceitful Fox is about to die, largely thanks to Ye Fan. Deceitful Fox, understandably upset, uses the safety of the Hunting Team and the Ghost Squad as leverage to et Ye Fan. From any perspective, Ye Fan would go without a doubt. Perhaps Deceitful Fox has grasped the factor of Sky Net pressuring Ye Fan and wants to see Ye Fan one last ti, likely aiming to drag Ye Fan down with him. To Deceitful Fox, eliminating Ye Fan is more important than exterminating the Ghost Squad and the Hunting Team, as Deceitful Fox loathes Ye Fan the most, the one who has caused him peril."
"With such reasoning, doesn’t it seem certain Ye Fan is dood to die?" The Third Elder expressed regret, "This can’t be right. Ye Fan is trendously valuable to us; if he dies, how will we annihilate Fire Phoenix and the Butcher? Those bases can’t be breached without him."
"We will take it one step at a ti. Right now, as long as Ye Fan’s potential sacrifice allows the Ghost Squad and the Hunting Team to survive, then Ye Fan’s death maximizes its value. Future matters can be considered in the future." The Fourth Elder said.
Compared to the safety of the Ghost Squad and the Hunting Team, the Third and Fourth Elders really didn’t care about Ye Fan’s life or death.
"We should move back a little. We originally thought we could see Deceitful Fox one last ti, but now it seems impossible. For our own safety, it would be wise to stay in a safe location." The Third Elder suggested.
"A wise man does not stand under a dangerous wall." The Fourth Elder chuckled.
The two Elders retreated, fearing the explosives beneath the castle might explode and affect them.
...
Smith contacted the Elder and, upon learning Ye Fan was on his way, finally breathed a sigh of relief. If Ye Fan didn’t co, then the ones who would die would be them. If Deceitful Fox beca ruthless, they truly wouldn’t escape.
"Ye Fan is coming. Once he arrives, we need to ensure a safe exit." Smith said.
"Compared to Ye Fan’s importance, your lives an nothing to the leader." Garcia laughed coldly, pleased to learn of Ye Fan’s impending arrival.
"Let’s hope so!" Smith pondered.
The Ghost Squad and the Hunting Team understood too. With reflection, Terminator’s importance to Deceitful Fox was irreplaceable. Given Deceitful Fox’s extre hatred for Ye Fan, he likely wouldn’t care much for their lives.
Understanding this point thoroughly, they were completely reassured.
