Chapter 1131: Chapter 1131: Blinded by Greed

"Mr. Ye, our people have discovered a tunnel leading to the Hound Base. When Sheridan led his people to gather intel, they encountered danger and were completely wiped out. Not a single one survived."

The Fourth Elder approached Ye Fan and briefly explained the mixed truths and falsehoods of Sheridan’s death.

He didn’t ntion his eagerness for success that led to heavy losses, nor did he bring up intentionally keeping Ye Fan in the dark.

He tried his best to show that he was on the sa side as Ye Fan, treating Sheridan’s actions as personal initiatives.

"Dead is dead. They’re all gone now, what’s the point of telling ? I don’t have the power to resurrect the dead," Ye Fan said indifferently.

"Mr. Ye, you’re joking. Sheridan’s death has weakened our forces. What should we do now?" The Fourth Elder said anxiously. "At present, we don’t know much about the Hound Base, and whether our current forces are enough to crush it is unknown. If Mr. Ye feels that the forces are insufficient, I can deploy more."

After the fact that Sheridan was easily annihilated, the Fourth Elder has clearly realized the terror of the Hound Base.

"What’s the use of more people if they can’t take down the Hound Base? They’re just ornantation," Ye Fan said coolly. "Since you bypassed

to authorize Sheridan’s attack on the Hound Base, I’m sure you have a thod to defeat the enemy, Fourth Elder."

"Mr. Ye, I was wrong. I shouldn’t have acted on my own." The Fourth Elder admitted his mistake.

"You’re not wrong. How could the Sky Net’s Fourth Elder be wrong?" Ye Fan said nonchalantly.

"Mr. Ye, it was my mistake," The Fourth Elder confessed sincerely, his face turning red. "Walker and others are waiting for your instructions, please guide our next steps without hesitation."

"Lead the way!" Ye Fan didn’t bother to argue with the Fourth Elder.

"This way, Mr. Ye," The Fourth Elder had no temper in front of Ye Fan.

"Mr. Ye!" As soon as Walker, Eddy, Smith, and Oliver saw Ye Fan, they stood up to greet him.

"Thank you all for your hard work. I congratulate you on your triumphant return," Ye Fan said lightly.

Walker and the others blushed with sha.

"Mr. Ye, you embarrassed us," Walker said politely. "But Mr. Ye, you also bear so responsibility for such significant losses. After all, you are our leader, and such a major incident is also due to your poor command."

"Isn’t it inappropriate for you to be so gleeful over this?" Oliver grumbled.

"Half of my Hound Hunting Team was lost, and Sheridan died miserably. Although everyone perford their duties to the best of their abilities and died honorably, was it not a bit too insensitive of you to say such things, Mr. Ye?" Smith said with a sullen face. As one of the captains of the Hound Hunting Team, he was most distressed and regretful over Sheridan’s death.

"Don’t try to pin the bla on . I wasn’t aware of your private actions. I thought you won a great victory. What happened? Did so many from the Hound Hunting Team die?" Ye Fan said indifferently.

"You didn’t know? How is that possible? Stop playing innocent. The Elder said you were aware, and because you couldn’t personally handle such a small thing as attacking the Hound Base, you let us do it. Now you’re denying it," Smith accused with an angry stare.

Imdiately, Smith’s gaze turned to the Fourth Elder.

Eddy, Walker, and Oliver realized sothing too and involuntarily looked at the Fourth Elder.

"It was my private arrangent and misrepresentation of Mr. Ye’s intentions," The Fourth Elder said. "I deeply regret Sheridan’s death, but we shouldn’t focus on blaming here. Instead, we should find a way to avenge Sheridan and destroy the Hound Base to complete the task assigned by the higher-ups."

Smith and the others fell silent. Whether it was the Fourth Elder or Ye Fan, they didn’t dare to be too presumptuous.

"Sheridan’s death was not entirely worthless. At least it gave us information about the Hound Base," The Fourth Elder said. "From now on, all matters related to attacking the Hound Base will be entirely entrusted to Mr. Ye."

The Fourth Elder had no way to deal with the Hound Base and could only leave it to Ye Fan.

Ye Fan felt no pressure, appearing relaxed. If the Fourth Elder knew that Sheridan’s death was intentionally set up by Ye Fan to let Dais leak a flaw in order to eliminate so of Sky Net’s forces, he might cough up blood three tis over.

The Fourth Elder realized this thoroughly and dared not overstep his bounds again. Now, he only hoped to avoid mistakes.

"Before I issue the attack plan, everyone is to remain on standby and take no action," Ye Fan said firmly. "I don’t want to see this situation happen again. I hope you understand."

"With this lesson learned, we will act carefully and appropriately," Walker and the others promised.

"Especially you, Fourth Elder, you understand, right?" Ye Fan said coldly, staring at the Fourth Elder.

Even being reluctantly assigned as the leader, leading the Sky Net Hunting Team against the God Organization required so discipline. Without a certain level of prestige, it won’t work. It is crucial to have a firm grasp of the leadership position.

"I understand, Mr. Ye, I won’t overreach again," The Fourth Elder said honestly.

"Try to keep a certain distance from the people in the town. Avoid excessive interaction," Ye Fan instructed. "No one knows how many enemies may be lurking in the town, and we must remain vigilant."

Walker and the others followed Ye Fan’s directives unconditionally.

As the ones being ordered, they didn’t want to act upon differing opinions; that would ruin big plans.

Walker and the others left.

Ye Fan focused all his energy on infiltrating the Hound Base’s network.

Fourth Elder’s residence.

"Elder, Ye Fan did not give you any face in front of Walker and the others and scolded you; it’s outrageous," Twain fud.

"The Elder’s face wasn’t honored, but I feel this might not be a bad thing," Green had his own perspective.

"What do you an?" Twain asked.

"If Ye Fan wasn’t focused on leading the hunting team to attack the Hound Base, it would be cause for suspicion. Now, as he’s focused on attacking the Hound Base, appropriately asserting his authority to establish so prestige is necessary and not a bad thing," Green analyzed.

"Now that you ntion it, it makes sense," Twain pondered.

"I indeed was in the wrong, so it’s no big deal to be reprimanded by Ye Fan," the Fourth Elder said gloomily. "Although I’m a bit upset, I deserved it. I ssed up with my pig-headedness."
