Laughing loudly, I step outside; we are not re workers.

Although ng Xu really wanted to say this, unfortunately, even in the apocalypse, he still had to work. Holding a thick stack of leaflets, ng Xu stood in front of the company stairwell and took a deep breath.

Good news: His company was on the fourth floor, not too high, so he could take the stairs down.

Bad news: Once his presence was exposed, zombies could climb stairs quickly.

Thinking of this, ng Xu couldn’t help but feel a bit of a headache.

Being overly cautious gets you nowhere! Courage to move forward is essential for success!

But careful planning is also essential.

“Bang.”

A wandering sound, like knocking, ca from behind him. ng Xu turned to see it was Chi Wei. Because he was standing here, Chi Wei couldn’t exit and just wandered in the neighboring office.

Besides Chi Wei, the neighboring office now also housed another zombie—his forr superior, the manager.

As for the chubby colleague, he was now reduced to half a body; with his belly split open, intestines spilled out, writhing and struggling on the office floor.

They deserved to die!

ng Xu coldly observed their fates.

Because their affection level had decreased by 100 points before they died, the zombified manager also now ‘detested’ him and was unwilling to approach him.

However, suddenly, ng Xu ca up with an excellent idea.

“Let Chi Wei and the manager lead the way; wouldn’t that be wonderful?”

Without hesitation, ng Xu imdiately put his plan into action.

“The safest thod is to sweep the floors. So zombies are trapped in rooms; their intelligence hasn’t reached the point where they can open doors. I can stuff leaflets under the doors or attach them to the door. After sweeping the building, I can move to the streets. Until my strength reaches 100 points, I can’t risk a direct confrontation!”

The third and second floors were the cafeteria, and the first floor was the lobby; only the fourth floor and above could be swept.

The whole office building was fifteen floors high, so it looked like ng Xu could complete the majority of his task within this building.

There was a ti when ng Xu despised those who stuffed random leaflets everywhere—so rude and inconsiderate.

But now…

Despising leaflets, questioning leaflets, understanding leaflets, becoming leaflets!

“Let’s begin the operation.”

ng Xu took a deep breath and, without hesitation, pulled out two leaflets and enthusiastically addressed Chi Wei and the manager, “Miss Chi, Manager Zhang, how about swimming fitness? New store opening, buy a monthly card and get ten billion free…”

Upon seeing ng Xu approaching, Chi Wei and Manager Zhang acted as if encountering a natural enemy, quickly retreating in all directions. But it didn’t matter; ng Xu had already thrown the leaflets towards them.

【Polite language, enthusiastic smile. Although your attitude in distributing the leaflets is proper, you threw the leaflets at the custors’ feet, which is very impolite behavior. Please rectify this imdiately, or it will affect your task rating.】

ng Xu ignored this, went straight to grab a nearby rope, and planned to tie up Chi Wei and the manager, leading them outside with him.

Thankfully, the neighboring office had just been renovated, leaving behind several buckets of paint and air conditioner safety ropes. Otherwise, he would have had to find sothing else to drag them along.

The crumbling corridor was stained with fresh blood, and the lingering stench in the air was nauseatingly strong.

On the eighth floor, blood splatters on a glass door were still not dry, and the toppled shelves seed to tell the tale of a horrifying incident.

In a restroom on the eighth floor, a girl was trembling, carefully listening to the sounds outside. Amidst her terror, she let out a long breath of relief.

‘What has happened to this world? Why has it beco like this?’

‘Is this the apocalypse? Didn’t the news say that symptoms first appeared in the U.S. last week and that the crisis started on the peninsula just yesterday? How did it get here so quickly?’

‘…’

A myriad of thoughts swirled through the girl’s mind. She was shivering, barely able to stand, gripping a broom tightly, and barricaded the door with various items to prevent anything from breaking in from outside.

Her na was Shen Zhaozhao, a recent graduate. Last night, she had insomnia with nothing to do, so she decided to get up early and arrive at the company by 5 a.m. to impress her superiors.

But to her shock, that very morning, upon arriving at the office, she witnessed through the window the overturned vehicles, people writhing and screaming in terror, and indescribable zombies rampaging the building.

Since this was an office area and early in the morning, few people were around. However, the sight of the chaos on the streets was enough to leave her trembling, unable to run.

Her colleagues, who had been working late, suddenly fell to the ground, convulsing and rolling their eyes. Within seconds, they turned into ferocious figures, sprang up, attacked the team leader and the office was filled with the sight and sound of blood and screams.

Luckily, she reacted quickly and escaped to the restroom.

Otherwise…

She didn’t dare to imagine what her fate would have been.

“Is there anyone who can save ? God, please…”

In the storage room, Shen Zhaozhao silently prayed for a quick restoration of order and the removal of these things.

Shivering, she pulled out her phone, trying to call for help through the sporadically functioning network.

Since the zombie crisis began, network signals have been unstable, with only so connectivity in open areas. In a place like the storage room, the signal was intermittent.

After turning the volu to zero and disabling vibrations, Shen Zhaozhao carefully logged onto various networks, only to find screens filled with pleas for help. The top news headline was a notice urging everyone to stay ho and avoid contact to prevent infection.

It seed like everything happened suddenly.

Yesterday’s festivities turned into today’s hell on earth.

Without any gradual transition, the outbreak happened abruptly. People were caught off guard.

Although so had preemptively stockpiled food, most were unprepared, hardly paying attention to the news before.

The zombie crisis had co too fast.

The earliest reports were only six days ago.

“Boom!”

While Shen Zhaozhao wallowed in self-pity, a noise suddenly ca from outside, startling her. She quickly realized this sound seed a bit different.

“Sir, how about swimming fitness?!”

“If you’re not interested, fine, no need to rush!”

“Hey, you in the room over there, how about swimming fitness?”

“…”

The spirited voice from outside left Shen Zhaozhao baffled.

Swimming fitness, seriously?

It’s the apocalypse, and soone is out there distributing leaflets?!

Shen Zhaozhao felt as if being locked up had caused her to hallucinate.

Peninsula – connected to the mainland, forming a protrusion into the surrounding body of water
