“Boom!”

“Roar——!!!”

“……”

What was once a bustling shopping mall has now turned into a hell on earth.

Countless zombies sward in, savagely pounding on the doors of the third-floor mall.

Inside the mall, a dozen or so people were desperately barricading the doors, dragging anything they could find as obstacles to push against the doors.

“What’s happening? Why is this happening?!”

A young man, who looked barely out of his teens, glanced in terror at the ferocious horde outside.

He was in a panic, his legs quivering, and barely able to support him.

While the young man was paralyzed with fear, an elderly man in a security guard uniform roared,

“Close it! Don’t let them in!”

The shout jolted the young man back to his senses. He quickly rushed to help block the door.

For a mont, the zombies couldn’t break through and just kept ramming against the barricade.

Just then, a commotion erupted not far away!

A massive zombie, imposing and hulking, suddenly appeared, making its way toward them!

Its eyes glowed faintly red, and its shoulders towered high. Just its appearance radiated a sense of overwhelming pressure!

“Roar!”

Upon seeing the survivors in the mall, the zombie let out a deep roar and charged at them!

As it barreled forward, any zombies in its path were swept aside without hesitation.

One zombie that blocked its way was smacked with a single swipe, sent flying, and crashed into a wall not far away.

“Smash!”

With a crisp sound, the zombie’s head shattered, splattering blood all over the wall.

The mont the imposing zombie appeared; it threw everyone into a panic.

Won scread, children cried, and even the n looked utterly desperate.

What kind of monster is this?!

Why would such a creature appear here?!

What is actually happening?!

Just as everyone was on the brink of giving up hope, thinking they were dood, the zombie suddenly stopped in its tracks.

It seed confused, looking around for a mont before accelerating and then leaping from the third floor of the mall and walking leisurely outside.

Seeing this, the survivors inside the mall were all stunned.

What just happened?

Did we… get saved?

Though they had no idea why the powerful zombie suddenly left, everyone was overwheld with joy and relief.

However, while this intimidating zombie had left, others were still swarming in like a tidal wave.

A man who seed to be the owner of a shop suddenly shouted, “Fall back; let’s head to the food court and block off the route!”

Imdiately, people began to respond and gather.

In an apocalypse, unity is key to survival.

【How can a beautiful life be wasted on idleness? Go out and take a walk; the evening breeze might bring you different opportunities and an unforgettable encounter.】

【It’s after work; don’t stay in the office. Hurry ho, take a hot shower, and get yourself ready!】

【Diligence is the path through the mountain of books; hard work is the boat navigating the sea of learning. To have a perfect life, you need a lot of knowledge. Go to the library; perhaps you’ll have an unexpected gain.】

“……”

ng Xu ignored the system’s reminders completely.

Shopping?

Going ho?

Visiting the library?

“Heh.”

ng Xu responded to the system’s reminders with just a dismissive “heh.”

He knew the system’s reminders were likely correct—these actions might trigger tasks or events, leading to morable encounters or valuable rewards.

But…

ng Xu didn’t elaborate further and just glanced at Chi Wei outside the door.

Those who understand, understand.

Yet staying in the office was proving to be rather uneventful.

Bored, ng Xu gazed at the high-end suit not far away but did not attempt to change into it.

Covered in bloodstains, wearing a suit would be inconvenient. Besides, he figured it would get dirty again soon enough.

It would be better to wait until his clothes were completely filthy before considering a change.

With that in mind, ng Xu casually took out his phone and discovered, to his surprise, that it had a faint signal.

Overjoyed, he quickly went online.

Even if he didn’t find any useful information, it would help pass the ti.

“Help, help, help! I’m at XX City, XX District, XXX Building. I have two million. Save !”

“Haha! I always knew a zombie crisis would happen. I stocked up on supplies early. Finally, I can be soone important! Trading a can of beef for a female college student’s companionship now!”

“I’ve read novels, killing zombies is like killing chickens. Everyone, don’t panic!”

“……”

ng Xu scrolled through these posts while making instant noodles.

The office still had power, and there was always an electric kettle handy.

“Sizzle~”

While enjoying his instant noodles, ng Xu couldn’t help but sigh, “This system is quite useful. Having it is better than not having it.”

After a while, his phone lost signal again, leaving ng Xu a bit disinterested.

However, during the brief ti he was online, ng Xu had gathered quite a bit of information.

First, the most valuable piece of information confird his suspicions.

This biohazard crisis did not only erupt in Heqing City but spread globally, breaking out simultaneously.

Thankfully, he didn’t stay in major cities like the capital or Shanghai after graduating.

Secondly, the authorities were indeed taking action, but from their official reports, it was clear that gaining full control of the situation would be a long process.

Certainly, not sothing that would be resolved in the next few days or even months.

With this in mind, ng Xu rubbed his temples, feeling so pressure.

“It looks like I’ll have to rely on myself for the short term.”

ng Xu set a small goal.

Since that’s the case, he decided to use this office building as his base and clean it up thoroughly!

With that thought, ng Xu imdiately stood up and turned on the lights, illuminating the entire office.

Then he began to clean up.

Since this would be his base, everything needed to be tidy and well-arranged, not haphazard!

Thinking this, ng Xu started humming a tune and began his daily cleaning routine.

【A perfect life starts with a comfortable environnt; a good setting improves one’s mood.】

【Triggered Task: Major Cleanup】

【Task Rewards: Point

1000, Allocated Career Experience

1.】

As ng Xu grabbed the broom, he noticed the text appearing before him and was montarily stunned. He then let out a deep sigh.

“If only this wasn’t the apocalypse, how great would that be.”

Earning a thousand yuan just by sweeping the floor—such a life was unimaginable in the past.

However, ng Xu was now more eager for the arrival of the senior talent—a bodyguard.

He was curious about what kind of expert it would be.

Once recruited, wouldn’t he be even more secure?

On the other hand, considering the system’s tendencies, shouldn’t he start a company? It might activate more tasks.
