"Lest, I need blood."
"Ah, Fuola, you're hungry for blood again? Let's go then."
Lest and Fuola began making their way out of the cave.
It seed that Celeste was sleeping so it was just the two of them at the mont.
Through the night, the two vampires searched for their prey. Vampires have the ability to detect even the faintest sll of blood, hundreds of tres away. However, just recently, the entire vampire population was beginning to run out of food.
So groups tried to fix this issue by keeping humans like livestock, but without the equipnt and knowledge required to do so, many of the humans they kept either escaped or died. It was cruel, but it was no crueller than what humans used to do to other animals. Life had a hierarchy, and humans were no longer at the top.
The two vampires dashed through the forest, searching for any signs of human civilisation.
In the past few days, the vampire population exploded, as a result, many groups of humans have been wiped out as the insatiable hunger of the vampires slowly culled them all. Now, there were a very small number of humans who were still vulnerable and sitting out in the forest as easy prey.
Many humans had grouped up in cities and villages, with extensive preparations and defences. Not only that but there were also leaderboarders wandering around, with the powerful Shadow Hunter System. These humans were capable of fighting hand-in-hand with so of the weaker vampire royals. As a result, many vampires have been forced to act a lot more cautiously.
However, fighting was but a small issue for Fuola and Lest. They were both the highest in terms of vampire royals, only second to the progenitors. They had still not yet t a single human who has been capable of even competing against them.
Eventually, the two of them managed to find a pretty big city of humans. It was not a gacity by any definition, but it had more food than the two vampires could ever want.
"What do you think of this place?" Lest asked.
"L-let's go, they look yummy."
"That's the spirit."
It was a pretty big settlent that was surrounded by a wall. The wall was made out of stone, it was sothing that could be easily broken through by the two of them. Several humans managed to see them coming and went inside to alert the others, but it was to no avail.
Fuola raised his leg.
In one big kick, an entire section of the wall began crashing down. Dust and rubble filled the space, mauling down everything in its way like a big tsunami. Through the opening, Lest and Fuola began making their way into the settlent.
"Alright, have fun, Fuola."
Lest stood back and watched the chaos unfold.
A large number of soldiers began pouring into the area, engaging Fuola in combat. Arrows and various other projectiles rained down upon him. There was so much action that Lest could hardly even see what was going on anymore.
A few monts later, like a flash of lightning, Fuola cut down the defenders one by one. Before they even had ti to react to his attacks, they had already fallen to the ground, clutching onto their life.
"Sword, drink my blood."
Suddenly, a thick aura surrounded Fuola's blade. With the energy gathered around his weapon, he swung it toward the back line of defenders. All of the humans who were previously shooting at him from a distance were all blown to the ground with a single attack. Before they could get back up, he had already made his way over, drinking blood from a few humans of his choosing.
"Aw, co on Fuola, how co you don't drink from any of the girls~"
Lest picked up a young girl from the ground.
"Co on, they're tastier."
Suddenly, Fuola's expression darkened. In one swift swing, Lest's arm was cleanly cut off. It fell to the ground with a thump as blood began gushing out of the wound.
Ah, that was a little bit scary, even for .
Lest placed the girl back on the ground.
"Sorry, I didn't realise you felt like that~"
Fuola still appeared unhappy.
"Fuola, I didn't an to push you like that, can you forgive ~"
"Fine, but don't do it again."
"Hehe, I promise~"
Eventually, Fuola got back to drinking blood from his victims. He drank only from the male victims, making sure that they were dead before doing so. It seed that Fuola had kept so of his humanity, which was odd for a vampire.
Lest decided to go around and drink so blood as well. Seeing what happened when he offended Fuola, he chose to only drink from males as well, for the ti being.
A few minutes later, both of the vampires had drunk enough.
Lest grabbed his arm off of the ground and reattached it to his body.
"Do you want to go back now, Fuola?"
"Sure, but there's sothing I want to have a look at."
"What is it~"
Fuola leapt onto the surviving portion of the wall and looked out into the distance.
"What are you looking for?"
"Maia, I want to see her again."
"Maia? Who is that?"
"She... she was my... friend..."
"Oh, so you want to make her into a vampire?"
"No... I-I... don't know what I want to do."
"That's fine, we can look for her."
"Really?"
Lest lifted his head and sniffed the air.
"She was the girl who was with you when I made you into a vampire, right?"
"Yeah."
"I can't seem to get her scent, we can keep looking around if you want."
"Um, yeah, I want to see, if she's going well..."
"Aw, aren't you a little emotional boy?"
"Shut up."
The two of them jumped down from the wall and began making their way through the forest once again. There were quite a few zombies lurking around but it seed that they generally avoided the vampires.
Fuola continued to walk around with a distressed expression on his face.
