Susan Wilde felt ward by the words, but seed concerned as she explained, "I knew that after I left, he would definitely co to ask you, which is why I haven’t contacted you all."

Shannon Quinn: "So how are you now?"

Susan Wilde: "I’m doing well, actually, I didn’t go far."

Shannon Quinn: "Then how about this, send your address on WeChat later. I’ll co alone to find you tomorrow, I have sothing to tell you."

Susan Wilde hesitated for a mont before replying, "Okay."

The next morning, Shannon Quinn gave so instructions at work, and after finishing the morning eting, drove to the address sent by Susan Wilde.

It was quite a secluded small town, but the environnt was quite beautiful, with blue tiles and white walls, small bridges and flowing water.

The car was parked by the roadside, and she followed the navigation to walk along the cobblestone path.

Susan Wilde ntioned she was working at a café now. When Shannon Quinn reached the navigation’s endpoint, she looked around and spotted a café at the corner.

Shannon Quinn glanced around at the entrance, noticing two plump cats inside the glass door, eyeing her.

Just as she was about to push the door open, a familiar figure walked out from inside the shop.

"Shannon!" Susan Wilde was a bit excited when she saw her.

The two hugged each other, with the cats lazily lying on the ground nearby, looking indifferent to everything.

"Co inside and sit."

Shannon Quinn glanced around inside the shop, and all she saw were cats everywhere.

She had once thought of opening such a cat café.

"Is this your shop?" Shannon Quinn asked.

Susan Wilde shook her head, "How could I have the skill to open a shop in just a few days? I’m just helping out for a salary."

Shannon Quinn found a random seat and sat down, picking up a plump ginger cat beside the chair, gently stroking its head, and the cat lay comfortably on her.

Susan Wilde brought over two glasses of juice and sat down opposite Shannon Quinn.

Stirring the juice with a straw, Shannon Quinn asked her, "Are you planning to stay here forever?"

Susan Wilde lowered her gaze, "At least for a while, I’m planning to. I like it here; it’s peaceful."

"Mr. Rhodes has been looking for you; you probably know that he has a heart condition, right? A few days after you left, he was hospitalized. He also doesn’t avoid smoking and drinking; his health might not hold up."

Susan Wilde sighed, silent for a while before simply saying, "He’s not a kid; he knows his own body and will take care of himself."

"Skylar, I know you have your difficulties, but have you seriously considered this? What you’re doing indeed gives the public an answer, but what about him? Is this the result he wants?"

Susan Wilde lowered her gaze and stayed silent.

Shannon Quinn: "I believe, from Mr. Rhodes’s perspective, he would rather be busy with those exhausting company matters every day as long as you’re by his side, he’d definitely be happy."

"Now the company is under Vincent’s managent, and its operations are indeed gradually returning to normal. Mr. Rhodes has hardly been managing the company these days, but his face no longer has a smile."

Susan Wilde also wanted to return to his side, but having made a difficult decision, she plucked up the courage to act on it, and now everything has returned to peace: "Maybe he will look for now, but after three to five years, he will eventually let go. Even if I return to his side now, the result will still be the sa. Perhaps he doesn’t care about what happens to the company, but I don’t want to see him so tired and worried. Marrying any other girl would be much easier and happier than being with ."

Shannon Quinn: "Last night, Grandpa planned a matchmaking for him. But do you know what Mr. Rhodes said?"

Susan Wilde looked at Shannon Quinn in confusion, listening to her continue: "Mr. Rhodes said he wouldn’t marry anyone other than you."

Susan Wilde smiled, a smile that seed happy yet carried a trace of bitterness.

How much he loved her was unquestionable and indisputable.

"Have you t the girl he was supposed to match with?" Susan Wilde asked.

Shannon Quinn nodded.

Susan Wilde: "How is she?"

Shannon Quinn: "Quite good, Grandpa was very satisfied. But no matter how good, in his heart there’s only you, he really needs you."

Susan Wilde smiled lightly, pursing her lips, "Can you go back and persuade him for ? Check out the girl he’s supposed to marry, and if she’s good enough, help him forget ."

Shannon Quinn frowned, "Skylar, doing this is irresponsible to both you and him."

Susan Wilde: "I’ve tried, Shannon. When the situation arose, I never thought I’d leave him, but do you understand that feeling? You love him deeply, but your love is harming him. Seeing him brings heartache, guilt, remorse, thinking if only the person he loved wasn’t you, he wouldn’t be like this. It’s really hard to bear thinking about it."

Shannon Quinn sighed, seriously asking her, "But can you let go of him?"

Susan Wilde smiled and shook her head, "That doesn’t matter."

Shannon Quinn saw that Susan Wilde seed determined never to return, behind her seemingly cold and heartless deanor lay an indescribable amount of reluctance and pain, known only to herself.

"I will convey your aning to him, but whether he listens, I don’t know."

Susan Wilde thanked her and then got up to walk over to the cash register, fished out a pale pink pouch from her bag, and handed it over, "Take this back to him."

Shannon Quinn accepted it with curiosity, vaguely feeling the emptiness inside, gently sensing a circular tal object.

Intuition told her that the pouch probably contained a ring.

Respecting Susan Wilde’s decision, she left with the ring, also promising not to reveal Susan Wilde’s current whereabouts to Simon Rhodes.

On her way back, Shannon Quinn called Simon Rhodes and found him in a bar.

He hadn’t drunk much, slightly intoxicated but capable of normal conversation.

"Mr. Rhodes, why are you drinking again?"

Simon Rhodes smiled and said, "It feels slightly better this way."

"Health is important. If you don’t take care of yourself, how can you find Skylar?"

At the ntion of Susan Wilde, Simon Rhodes’s expression dimd slightly, but he shifted the subject and asked Shannon Quinn, "Shannon, what did you find for?"

Seeing him like this, Shannon Quinn hesitated to bring out the pouch, but knowing it had to be done sooner or later, she decided to get it over quickly, long pain is worse than short pain.

"There’s sothing I need to give you, all this ti I kept forgetting."

Simon Rhodes puzzled, "Hmm?"

Shannon Quinn sat down beside him, taking the pouch out of her bag and handing it to Simon Rhodes, "... This is from Skylar before she left, she asked to give it to you. I just rembered."

Simon Rhodes glanced at the pouch with blurred eyes, reached out and took it, directly untied the strings, and when he saw the contents inside the pouch,

he took a deep breath, closed his eyes, and tightly clenched the pouch in his hand.
