Under the influence of Simon Rhodes, Susan Wilde also began to look forward to their future.
With the support of her best friend, Susan felt more courageous as well.
However, she did not tell Simon about her decision and thoughts; she wanted to tell him after the divorce.
She also used this ti to observe him further.
Having experienced a bad relationship once, Susan was still a bit worried about making the sa mistake.
Even though Simon and Owen Bellamy were completely different kinds of n.
First of all, Simon basically could have anything he wanted, so Susan didn’t have to worry that he was approaching her to gain sothing from her.
Secondly, Simon always acted more than he spoke; he used his actual actions to prove many things.
In the evening, Susan had dinner at Shannon Quinn’s house before heading back.
When she arrived, Shawn Rhodes’ car had just stopped in the yard.
On the road, she also saw his car drive past her.
Laura got out of the car, and Shawn carefully helped her into the house.
Susan deliberately slowed her pace, waiting until they finished changing their shoes at the entrance before entering the house and going straight to her room.
Shawn rely glanced at her, not saying anything, then said to Laura, "I’ll go make dinner, you go upstairs and take a shower first."
Laura glanced at Susan’s room and asked, "Is your mom urging you to have a child with her?"
Shawn paused for a bit, nodded, and said, "Ever since we got married, she’s been urging."
Laura: "What do you think?"
Shawn: "What do I think? Your belly is already so big; having you all is enough for ."
Laura: "Then when do you plan to give and the child a legitimate status? I don’t want to go through the hard work of being pregnant only to give birth to a child everyone sneers at as an illegitimate child."
Shawn smiled and touched Laura’s head, saying, "Don’t worry, I can’t bear to let you suffer."
Laura: "Then give a definite ti, when can you divorce her?"
Shawn lowered his gaze for a mont and said, "Give it so ti; there are still things to sort out now."
Laura: "Can it be resolved before the baby is born?"
Shawn nodded, "Mm, go take a shower, I’ll make dinner."
Laura wanted to say sothing else, but Shawn turned around and walked into the kitchen; she looked thoughtfully at Susan’s room before turning to go upstairs.
Shawn opened the fridge and stared at the ingredients inside, lost in thought.
In fact, when it cos to divorce, as long as he agrees, he could divorce imdiately.
Susan has probably been waiting for that day.
But he doesn’t know what he’s thinking, just unwilling to let go.
At the kitchen door, he glanced upstairs before stepping to Susan’s room and knocking on the door.
Susan ca and opened the door halfway, standing at the door asking him, "What is it?"
Shawn looked down at her and asked, "Have you had dinner? If not, I can make sothing for you; is there anything you want to eat?"
Susan frowned slightly, looking at the unusual him like a monster, then shook her head and said, "I’ve eaten."
Shawn lowered his gaze, wanting to say sothing more, but Susan spoke first: "I find it quite unsettling, if you have any requests, feel free to ask, if I can do it, I will agree, just don’t act kind for no reason, it makes uneasy."
Shawn’s eyes showed a hint of disappointnt, his face falling silent, turned, and left.
Susan watched his back in confusion, unable to understand the reason for his sudden change in temperant.
Locking the door, she heard her phone’s ssage alert again, her previous worries dissipating, she cheerfully ran over, picked up the phone, and laid back on the bed.
Replying to Simon’s ssage, her mood changed, yet she still carefully considered her response before sending it.
Hoping he wouldn’t sense her change, without ntioning her internally decided matters at all.
Though there was still so unease in Susan’s heart, perhaps because Simon was too accomplished, she felt unworthy of having such a man’s affection.
She even feared that before her divorce from Shawn, Simon would lose interest in her.
But even if that happened, it wouldn’t an any loss to her.
After experiencing a failed relationship once, Susan learned that loving oneself must exceed loving others.
And not to rely too much on one person, so when that person leaves, it’s not difficult to adjust and accept.
In the evening, after dinner, Shawn took Laura back to her own apartnt.
Because Mrs. Rhodes would co in the morning, Laura naturally wouldn’t continue staying here.
After sending Laura away, Shawn actually felt relieved.
Returning to the marital ho, he stayed in the living room, took out a bottle of red wine, lit a cigarette, and sat alone on the sofa.
His thoughts wandered aimlessly, struggling between desires and promises of reason.
He felt that he now harbored more of Susan in his heart, but he couldn’t betray Laura, especially since she was carrying his child.
Yet thinking about divorcing Susan and marrying Laura brought thoughts of boredom.
Once envisioned and desired life, now seed tireso when thought about, what was once deep love has now beco his solitary tornt.
When Susan erged with a water cup, finding him sitting in the living room, she appeared sowhat surprised.
After glancing at Shawn, she acted as if nothing had happened, went to the water dispenser to get water.
Seeing her about to return to her room after getting water, Shawn called out to her, "Sit down, let’s talk."
Susan stopped, looking at him with suspicion and wariness, observed him for two seconds, and asked, "What to talk about?"
Shawn pointed with his chin to the single sofa on his right, "Sit down and talk."
Even Susan felt Shawn had been acting strange these past few days, perhaps he wanted to discuss the divorce?
Thinking this, Susan walked over and sat on the sofa.
Clutching the water cup tightly, her eyes remained vigilant on him, "Go ahead."
Shawn reached for a wine glass, poured a glass of red wine, and handed it to her.
Susan glanced at it, while she did occasionally enjoy a small glass of red wine, she worried the wine Shawn poured might be problematic, so she didn’t intend to drink.
Shawn did not force her to drink but rely lifted his own glass, finishing the wine inside, before asking Susan, "How far have you and he progressed?"
Susan paused, realizing the naless "he" Shawn referred to, thinking for a mont before replying, "Why are you concerned about this?"
Shawn: "Have you slept together?"
Upon hearing this, Susan felt inexplicably chilled to her core, recalling that day.
His barbarism and irrationality.
Even now, she couldn’t let go.
Shawn set down his wine glass, looked at her with a faint smile but without humor, and stood up.
Seeing him move, Susan suddenly beca tense, getting up imdiately, retreating quite a distance.
