Everyone is the sa; whoever treats her well, she naturally likes them a bit more.

Shawn Rhodes thought about the things he did to Susan Wilde during their marriage; it wouldn’t be surprising if she had truly fallen for Simon Rhodes.

Actually, he really liked her long hair from before too; perhaps it was jealousy and possessiveness that made him only think of destruction when he saw Simon Rhodes touch her hair.

And she hadn’t done anything wrong.

Yet she bore consequences heavier than anyone else.

When he saw the ssage Simon Rhodes sent her, his heart was filled more with regret and unwillingness than anger.

Even though he knew that before he entered her room, she might have been chatting with that man.

Even knowing she was just pretending to sleep.

Seeing her peaceful appearance, he couldn’t bear to disturb her.

When he figured these things out, he didn’t know if there was still a chance to make ands and keep her.

Or perhaps, he shouldn’t try to keep her.

Rowan Alder was the woman he promised to protect for a lifeti, and she was already pregnant with his child.

He should fulfill his promise; though he couldn’t be a competent husband now, he hoped to be a qualified father in the future.

But the biggest problem now is, he realizes he can’t bear the thought of divorcing Susan Wilde.

...

Since Shannon Quinn returned, she stayed in her room without going out.

Miscarriage isn’t much easier than childbirth; it’s very damaging to a woman’s body.

Catherine Yardley carefully took care of her, and Leo was also very considerate.

He would chat with Shannon Quinn every day after school, talking about things at school.

Sotis he would inadvertently glance at Shannon Quinn’s flat belly, but never asked where his sister went.

He learned so truths about his father from the news and other people’s discussions.

He didn’t understand adult matters, didn’t know why his dad didn’t want to co back.

But he knew his mom really needed his protection now.

He didn’t seem to like his dad as much as before.

Because he felt it was his dad who made his mom so sad every day, and his dad was the reason mom’s baby sister was gone...

"Mom, I’m off to school." Every morning, Leo would co and greet Shannon Quinn.

Shannon Quinn would also suppress her emotions and smile at her son, urging him to be good at school.

Catherine Yardley would place breakfast at her bedside and then head out to send Leo to school.

When alone at ho, Shannon Quinn spent most of her ti sitting by the window.

Looking at the courtyard outside, the stream flowing, her mind could montarily be soothed.

While eating breakfast by the window, the doorbell rang.

These days, Erin Bishop sotis ca over to accompany her, but she shouldn’t be up so early.

Could it be Skylar Vance?

Shannon Quinn got up, opened the door, and upon seeing the man standing outside, she paused, a sourness flooding her nose.

They faced each other in silence.

Landon Sutton’s appearance surprised her; there was a two-three centiter scratch on his left cheek, barely scabbed over.

Shannon Quinn initially wanted to express concern about the injury on his face, but his slightly unfamiliar gaze brought her back to reason.

She took a deep breath, easing the stifling pain in her heart, then asked him, "How did you find ?"

Landon Sutton lowered his eyes, saying: "I asked Ronan Rhodes for your address."

Shannon Quinn: "What are you here for?"

Her tone didn’t carry much emotion.

No joy, nor resentnt.

Landon Sutton glanced at her belly, lightly pursing his lips, saying: "I heard about the child...sorry for causing you unnecessary harm."

Shannon Quinn didn’t know whether to laugh or cry, looking up at him, she reminded: "That was your child."

Landon Sutton lowered his gaze and after a mont muttered two words: "Not necessarily."

Shannon Quinn found his response absurd and shocking, her smile tinged with sarcasm: "I don’t know what you’ve been told or what you rembered, and I don’t wish to know; I will live my life. If you rember, I’ll still be here waiting for your return; if you don’t, then don’t co looking for ."

Landon Sutton looked at her and felt uneasy too.

But the scene of her kissing another man was witnessed by him personally.

Compared to what others said, he naturally trusted his own eyes more.

Maybe his earlier questioning about the child not being his was a bit harsh, but she didn’t love him as much as she claid; otherwise, she wouldn’t be affectionate with another man behind his back.

Shannon Quinn: "If there’s nothing else, please leave."

After speaking, Shannon Quinn closed the door.

Once the door was shut, she leaned against it, covering her mouth, sobbing silently.

Rembering how good he was to her when she first got pregnant, how he eagerly hoped for the belly to have a little princess, carefully serving her every day, saying he would make up for what he owed her while carrying Leo.

But now, the little princess was no more, and after he ca, not only did he not show concern, he even questioned whether the child was his.

She felt that he was just a stranger with the face of the man she loved.

Before he regained his mory, no matter how much passion she put in, it wouldn’t warm his heart.

When she learned he was alive but lost his mory, she held hope that she could bring him back.

But now the cost has been too high, and she’s truly exhausted.

She no longer wishes to prove how much she once loved him, because now, he not only doesn’t love her, he doesn’t even trust her.

Soon after Landon Sutton left, Simon Rhodes arrived.

Shannon Quinn opened the door to let Simon Rhodes in, and he asked, "Did Vincent co to see you?"

Shannon Quinn was pouring him water; before she could answer, Simon Rhodes continued: "Ronan Rhodes told this morning he returned; I guess he must’ve co to see you."

"Yes, he ca by, just left."

Simon Rhodes: "Looks like the conversation didn’t go too well."

Shannon Quinn smirked, handed the water cup to Simon Rhodes, then sat on the adjacent sofa and said: "He doubted that the child wasn’t his."

Simon Rhodes paused: "How could he think that way?"

Shannon Quinn shook her head: "I don’t know, and I don’t care to ask. The child is already gone; if he cos back, this will still be his ho; if he doesn’t, I’ll consider him dead."

Simon Rhodes: "Shannon, I know the child’s loss is a big blow to you. Vincent, you can leave his matter aside for a while, just give him so ti. He’s already rembered so things."

Shannon Quinn: "If he can rember, that’s naturally good, but everything will follow him. If he can’t rember, I won’t force him to stay."

Simon Rhodes said: "I heard from Ronan Rhodes that Vincent had an altercation and fight with so thugs outside yesterday, though he can’t rember anything, that fighting prowess hasn’t diminished, taking on eight people alone, only a slight scratch on the face; then maybe the fight stimualted sothing and he recalled so previous training camp incidents."
