Susan Wilde returned to her room, glanced through the calendar on the table, and noticed that the next two days happened to be the weekend. Rowan Alder probably wouldn’t be practicing the piano.

The security ntioned just now that the two had gone to the supermarket together, and since Shawn Rhodes usually liked to cook, they often ate at ho. So she could arrange for the old couple to co over for a al.

After the outside quieted down, Susan Wilde called Mrs. Rhodes.

Mrs. Rhodes was particularly happy to receive her call. "Skylar, why are you suddenly calling Mom?"

"Mom, isn’t tomorrow the weekend? Skylar and I have nothing much going on, so we wanted to invite you and Dad over for dinner."

"That sounds great! I’ve been saying I wanted to co over, but every ti I call Skylar, he says he’s too busy. It’s nice of you to think of us." Mrs. Rhodes said and then asked gossipy, "Skylar, do you have any good news to share with us?"

Susan Wilde knew that Mrs. Rhodes was referring to a child, so she brushed it off, saying, "I just wanted to invite you over for a al. We’ve been married for a while, but haven’t properly invited you to our ho."

"You better not surprise us! I’ll buy so supplents to bring over tomorrow."

"How about this, Mom? Tomorrow afternoon, we’ll go to the supermarket together. We’re running low on so ingredients at ho."

"Alright, call when you’re done with work tomorrow afternoon."

Susan Wilde suddenly felt that using Mrs. Rhodes like this was a bit unfair to her. She also wondered why Shawn hadn’t inherited any of Mrs. Rhodes’s good-natured traits.

The next morning, before leaving, she overheard Rowan Alder and Shawn chatting over breakfast, confirming that they’d be ho cooking dinner tonight.

Around three in the afternoon, Susan Wilde and Mrs. Rhodes went grocery shopping together.

The relationship between mother-in-law and daughter-in-law was good, yet the opposite could be said for the couple.

After leaving the supermarket, Mrs. Rhodes called Mr. Rhodes. The driver ca to pick them up, and they headed ho together.

Mr. Rhodes wasn’t as enthusiastic as Mrs. Rhodes, but he never showed any dislike for Susan and usually complied with Mrs. Rhodes’s words.

In the car, Mr. Rhodes was busy making work calls but still took the ti to accompany Mrs. Rhodes on this trip.

Susan Wilde calculated the ti and called Shawn from her phone as they approached the villa’s gate. She figured Shawn likely wouldn’t pick up, or even if he did, they were already near the entrance, and Rowan wouldn’t have ti to leave.

At the dining table, Rowan Alder was half-lying across it, her legs wrapped around Shawn’s waist, the two passionately kissing.

The phone ringing interrupted them. Shawn moved slightly and pulled out his phone. Rowan leaned over to glance at the caller ID, which displayed "Susan Wilde’s" full na.

Rowan, displeased, grabbed the phone and hung up, looking at Shawn unhappily, "You still have her number saved?"

"Just in case."

Rowan pouted, tossed the phone aside, and wrapped herself around Shawn’s neck again...

Inside the car, Susan smiled contentedly at the disconnected call.

As they neared the gate, Mrs. Rhodes asked, "How’s Shaw’s preparation coming along? I rarely get to taste his cooking."

Susan smiled and said, "He’s quite a cook. I really enjoy his dishes."

The car parked in the courtyard, unnoticed by the two intertwined inside.

Hearing the sound of the door, they assud it was Susan returning; they weren’t the least bit panicked, nor did they attempt to hide anything.

The door swung open, revealing the sight of the entangled couple at the dining table from the doorway.

Mr. and Mrs. Rhodes were understandably shocked, while Susan was surprised at how accommodating the two were to her plan.

She originally thought she’d find Shawn cooking in the kitchen and Rowan watching TV in the living room, not realizing they’d be getting intimate in the dining room.

Shawn, shirtless, had his shirt and blazer discarded at his feet, while Rowan’s camisole dress had slipped down to her waist.

"You... you two..." Mrs. Rhodes was the first to enter, pointing at them, too upset to finish her sentence.

Shawn frowned, bent down to grab his blazer, and wrapped it around Rowan, whispering, "Go upstairs."

Rowan, now intimidated, clutched the blazer and turned to go upstairs, but Mrs. Rhodes shouted, "Stop right there!"

Shawn quickly stepped forward to block Mrs. Rhodes, worried that Rowan might get hurt, "Go upstairs first."

Rowan ran barefoot upstairs without looking back, while Mrs. Rhodes pushed past Shawn, pointing angrily at him, "You’ve been bringing her here a lot, haven’t you? Look at what you’ve done! Do you think you’ve been fair to Susan?"

After her tirade, she yelled towards the stairs, "Shaless woman! Co down here!"

"Mom, calm down."

"Calm down? His father, talk to him! We’ve constantly told you not to associate with this woman! You’re married to Susan now! Are you even a man?!"

Compared to Mrs. Rhodes, Mr. Rhodes was calr but much more stern as he commanded, "Call that woman down here."

Shawn stood still, glaring resentfully at Susan.

Susan stood expressionless at the door, neither gloating nor displaying any anger or grief.

"Why are you glaring at Susan? How dare you! Get that woman down here! We’ll get to the bottom of this! Are you going to do it, or do I have to?"

Standing before his parents, Shawn confidently declared, "From the start, I told you that the only woman I love is Laura. You forced this marriage on , I agreed, and did as you wished. But to leave Laura and live with Susan, I can’t do it."

"Did you ever consider Susan? What did she do to deserve this? Does she have to face all this just because she is who she is?"

"She may not be at fault; perhaps the fault lies with you all."

The old couple was taken aback, and Mr. Rhodes spoke in a steady voice, "Have that woman leave and cut all ties. I won’t pursue this matter any further."

Shawn remained silent as Rowan, having changed clothes, voluntarily descended the stairs.

With a pitiful look, she pleaded for Shawn, "Uncle and Aunt, it’s my fault. Please don’t bla Shaw anymore. I’ll leave now."

Shawn frowned and grabbed Rowan, who, with tears streaming down, looked at him and said, "Shaw, Uncle and Aunt are right. You’ve married Miss Wilde. Even if we love each other, it’s immoral to be like this. I don’t want to trouble you anymore. I won’t co back."
