Listening to his gentle footsteps, hearing the door close, and then the sound of him leaving outside.
Shannon Quinn took a deep breath, and because of his goodnight, her whole body seed to relax, even her sleeping face wore a smile.
In the following days, Landon Sutton ca over every day.
Shannon Quinn knew that he actually had a lot of things to do every day, spending most of the day with her and the child, and probably had many things waiting for him at the hotel to handle in the evening.
That noon, Leo went to school, Catherine Yardley went to find Julian, leaving only Landon Sutton accompanying Shannon Quinn.
After so many days, Shannon Quinn had gotten used to spending ti alone with him, although there wasn’t much communication, there was no longer the decision to feel pressured or uncomfortable.
Despite being able to walk around slightly now, she still had to lie down and rest most of the ti.
To pass the ti watching TV, she usually chose the living room sofa instead of her bedroom.
She stretched out on the sofa, Landon Sutton sat at the empty spot by her feet to accompany her.
She was recently watching a TV drama, a romantic suspense series, which naturally didn’t interest Landon Sutton, but he quietly accompanied her to watch.
She propped herself up to reach for the water cup on the coffee table, but it was a bit out of reach. She wanted to call him to help, only to discover his arms crossed over his chest, eyes closed as if he was already asleep.
Afternoons tended to make people drowsy, plus he probably didn’t have much ti to rest, otherwise, he wouldn’t have fallen asleep sitting there like that.
Shannon Quinn thought for a mont, then kicked him with her foot. He imdiately opened his eyes, turned his head, and asked her, "What’s up? Need to use the bathroom?"
"Go to my room to sleep," she said.
Landon Sutton paused for a mont, then smiled teasingly, "Together?"
Shannon Quinn rolled her eyes, "If you’re tired, just go sleep by yourself. You’re sitting here affecting my TV watching."
"It’s approaching the end of the year, company matters are quite a lot. I dealt with so last night and went to sleep late."
Shannon Quinn paused and said, "You have a lot of work, you don’t have to co here every day. I’m much better now, don’t need soone watching over ."
"Work ti can be spared, but the ti with you and the child cannot."
Shannon Quinn was satisfied with his response, but also didn’t want to see him too exhausted from not spreading himself too thin.
"If you’re tired, just go take a nap, there are still two hours until Leo gets off school."
Because of her concern, Landon Sutton’s eyes were filled with laughter. He stood up, pulled the blanket to cover her exposed feet, and said, "Then I’ll go take a nap, call if anything cos up."
Shannon Quinn stared at the TV, dismissively gave an "Mm," as if urging him to leave quickly and not disturb her watching the drama.
Landon Sutton wasn’t going to her room for the first ti, but it was his first ti sleeping in her bed.
The pillow and blanket seed to still have her light fragrance, which slled very nice and was very comfortable.
Landon Sutton closed his eyes, probably truly tired, quickly drifting off to sleep.
Shannon Quinn also turned down the TV’s volu and seriously started watching TV.
Around three in the afternoon, the phone placed beside the coffee table suddenly rang. She picked it up to look, sowhat surprised, it was a ssage from Sylvie Pierce.
Sylvie Pierce asked for her ho address, saying she had already arrived at the airport and wanted to co by to see her.
Shannon Quinn instinctively glanced towards her bedroom, thinking about what Catherine Yardley said, that so things had to be fought for by oneself, she might use this opportunity to assert her position.
No matter whether Sylvie Pierce had intentions towards Landon Sutton or not, she had to eliminate these doubts early on.
So, she sent the address over to Sylvie Pierce.
About ten minutes later, the doorbell rang.
Shannon Quinn slowly got up to open the door, and not only Sylvie Pierce was there, but also Shawn Pierce, which surprised Shannon Quinn a bit.
"Shannon, you’re ho alone?" Before Shannon Quinn could answer, Sylvie Pierce turned back and pointed to what Shawn Pierce was carrying, saying, "We brought so things for you and the child, so nutritional products to help your body recover."
"Thank you, please co in, no need to change shoes, I was just about to mop the floor this evening, co in and have a seat."
Even though there was no need to change shoes, Sylvie Pierce still noticed the pair of n’s leather shoes by the door, she asked, "Is there another guest at ho?"
Shannon Quinn didn’t hide it, gestured to the room and said, "A friend, sleeping inside."
"A man?"
Shannon Quinn nodded outright, "Mm."
Sylvie Pierce and Shawn Pierce glanced at each other, didn’t ask further, following Shannon Quinn into the room.
Landon Sutton was never a deep sleeper, the noise outside disturbed him, and he ca out of the room in confusion.
When the Pierce siblings saw him, they were both quite surprised, and Landon Sutton was also sowhat surprised, not expecting the siblings to co here.
"Vincent? What are you doing here?" Shawn Pierce was the first to greet.
Sylvie Pierce looked at Landon Sutton then at Shannon Quinn, asked, "Shannon, is this the friend you just ntioned?"
Shannon Quinn nodded, "Mm, it’s thanks to Mr. Sutton for taking care of during this period."
"He’s been here all this ti? Living at your house?"
Shannon Quinn didn’t answer, Landon Sutton sorted out his clothes, walked over saying, "Why did you co?"
Shawn Pierce said, "I felt quite apologetic about last ti, so Shirley said we should co and check on Shannon, so I tagged along. But you, why are you living at soone else’s house?"
Landon Sutton smiled, sat down beside Shannon Quinn, "Forgot to introduce, this is my ex-wife."
Shawn Pierce’s expression was very surprised, genuinely unaware of this, while Sylvie Pierce seed just to have an unpleasant look on her face, but apparently knew this beforehand.
Therefore, Shannon Quinn understood that Sylvie Pierce introducing her to a date might not have been a coincidence.
Shawn Pierce looked at Shannon Quinn with astonishnt for several seconds before suddenly realizing, "The first ti I t Shannon, I felt she looked familiar, just couldn’t rember where I’d seen her, now I recall! It’s the girl from the photo you showed years ago when you said you got married."
Landon Sutton smiled lightly without speaking.
Shawn Pierce slapped his forehead, "Really, almost made a big mistake! Shirley even said to introduce Shannon to , but she’s my brother’s woman, how could I dare to touch! Shirley, you too, didn’t you know Shannon is Vincent’s girlfriend before?"
Sylvie Pierce snapped back, managed a smile, said, "I just found out now, previously only heard Vincent got married, I’ve been abroad, so never knew who the sister-in-law was, almost caused a stir."
Shannon Quinn chuckled, "It’s okay, we’re all friends, all misunderstandings, solved then it’s fine."
"Vincent, I rember you said you got divorced before, and you just ntioned Shannon is your ex-wife, so are you guys planning to remarry now?"
