Ronan Rhodes paused, hearing Landon Sutton continue, "I’m not attending tonight’s social event; you can handle it."

"What? But Master Nate has already scheduled it, and everyone’s looking forward to your presence!"

"I have more important matters to attend to. Just deal with it as you see fit. I believe you have the capacity."

Ronan Rhodes pouted, disgruntled but not daring to speak up, muttering, "Tyrant!"

Landon Sutton flipped to the last page of the magazine in his hand, then closed the book, stood up from the sofa, and looked at the stunning sunset from the high-rise.

If only she were by my side, everything would be perfect.

It’s rare to have a vacation, yet I can’t openly spend ti with my wife, and she even treats like a rogue ghost, fleeing at the sight of .

When will such days ever end?

Picking up the coat on the sofa, he left.

A few minutes later, the Maybach stopped in the underground parking lot. He glanced at a nearby parking spot where the Audi was parked sowhat unevenly.

Seeing her parking skills, he suddenly regretted letting her take the car; he felt uneasy seeing her drive on the road.

Going upstairs back to the room, he stood on the balcony and looked across, the doors and windows were tightly shut.

He took out a pack of cigarettes from his pants pocket, lit one, his gaze falling thoughtfully into the distance, skillfully smoking.

When the cigarette ended, and she still hadn’t co out, he returned to the room.

Sitting in the living room, looking around, his brows furrowed slightly as if plotting sothing.

Calculating the layout of the room, he gently knocked on a wall, a slight smile playing at the corner of his mouth.

Before long, Shannon Quinn was sitting on the sofa watching TV with Mia in her arms, when she heard the sound of a hamr against the wall.

It was very clear, as if it was coming from the wall right behind her.

Knowing who lived next door, when you dislike soone, even their hamring annoys you.

She picked up the remote and turned the TV volu up a bit, but the more she tried to ignore sothing, the more she focused on it.

All she could hear was the sound of him hamring nails, wondering if he was doing so renovation.

Shannon Quinn sat uneasily on the sofa, feeling increasingly annoyed.

She didn’t know how much ti had passed before the hamring finally stopped, and she let out a sigh of relief.

Just as she was feeling completely relieved, she faintly heard a knock at the door, hesitated, and turned down the TV volu to listen clearly.

Her first reaction was to think it might be Vincent Rhodes; not daring to delay, she got up imdiately, but cautiously checked the screen first. Seeing Landon Sutton standing outside the door, she wanted to withdraw her hand from the doorknob.

After a mont’s hesitation, she opened the door, blocking the entrance, and peeked out at Landon Sutton standing outside, "What do you want?"

Landon Sutton, in a more composed state, still appeared quite gentlemanly, his manners courteous, asking her, "Do you have a screwdriver at ho? A Phillips one."

Shannon Quinn scrutinized him a bit reluctantly, nodded, saying, "Yes."

After speaking, she shut the door with a bang, rummaged through a toolbox at ho for a screwdriver, then opened the door again, handing it to him, saying, "I have both a large and a small one."

"Thank you."

His sudden politeness made Shannon Quinn feel sowhat uncomfortable. As he turned around to return to his room, Shannon Quinn couldn’t help but ask, "What are you doing?"

Landon Sutton paused, turned to look at her, and responded, "Installing sothing."

Initially, he thought her asking signaled a shift in her attitude towards him. Who knew she’d imdiately add, "Installing sothing at this hour, don’t you know it’s disturbing?"

"Did I disturb you?"

"You were hamring right against my wall, do you think it didn’t?"

Landon Sutton felt exceedingly pleased with himself but wore an apologetic expression as he said, "Sorry, I’ll do it tomorrow."

Seeing his decent attitude of admitting fault, Shannon Quinn said nothing further and turned to close the door.

Away from her gaze, Landon Sutton’s lips curled up triumphantly.

Initially, he had hoped she’d co over to knock on his door, asking him to keep it quiet. But after knocking for a long ti with no response, he resorted to borrowing a screwdriver.

If only he’d known, he would have just asked to borrow it directly and saved himself the trouble of hamring for so long.

Seated on the sofa, studying the two screwdrivers in his hands, one large and one small.

He couldn’t help but think, he’d assud girls wouldn’t have such items, but she had quite a collection.

He thought since she lived alone, these skills were probably sothing life forced her to learn.

Honestly wishing to take care of her sooner, so she’d only need those hands for holding pencils and drawing.

The night passed quietly next door, without any sound, and Vincent Rhodes, who had always kept her on edge, did not appear.

After heating a cup of milk and preparing for bed, the phone on the coffee table suddenly chid with a text ssage alert.

Rarely did anyone contact her via text; she initially assud it was a spam ssage.

Glancing over, she noticed sothing unusual, quickly unlocking to check.

The screen displayed an unfamiliar number and a string of text: Make ti for dinner at ho tomorrow night.

Seeing the contents of the ssage, she speculated who it might be, but in the past, it was always Simon Rhodes who inford her; Vincent Rhodes had never contacted her directly before.

To confirm, she tapped a reply: Who is this?

Soon, the na popped up on the screen: Vincent Rhodes.

Even though she was ntally prepared, seeing the na still made Shannon Quinn’s heart skip a beat.

Hesitating, she replied again: Are you coming tomorrow too?

Gripping her phone, she received no further response.

Sotis, she really wished she could figure out how many secrets were hidden around her that she didn’t know.

The next day, the weather wasn’t great, with rain in the forecast.

Shannon Quinn kept the matter on her mind, watched a few movies to pass the ti, and left around three o’clock in the afternoon.

Driving back to the Rhodes Family ho.

It was Simon Rhodes who greeted her as usual.

"Big brother."

"Did you buy a car?"

Shannon Quinn smiled without directly saying it was from Vincent Rhodes, instead looking around to ensure no one else was there before leaning closer to Simon Rhodes to ask, "Did he co tonight?"

"Who?"

"Vincent Rhodes."

Hearing that na, Simon Rhodes was briefly surprised and then asked, "Vincent contacted you?"

"Yes, he sent a ssage asking to co over, and also..." Shannon Quinn glanced at Simon Rhodes. The one she trusted most had always been Simon Rhodes. There was no hiding from him, so she confessed honestly, "I’ve seen Vincent Rhodes; he ca to where I live."

Observing Simon Rhodes’s expression, he didn’t seem to know, appearing sowhat surprised, asking her, "What did he say to you?"

Shannon Quinn shook her head, "Nothing particularly important. I just don’t get why he suddenly appeared."

Simon Rhodes thought for a mont, brushing it off lightly, "You are his wife, after all. Maybe he just suddenly wanted to see you."

Shannon Quinn wasn’t satisfied with Simon Rhodes’s response, wanting to ask more questions, when she saw a black Bentley pull into the empty parking space next to her.

Shannon Quinn initially didn’t know who it was, but Simon Rhodes imdiately turned and walked over. Right after, she saw Landon Sutton step out of the car, the two greeting each other like particularly close friends, shaking hands.
