At this mont, Landon Sutton was sitting on the sofa in the room, holding her phone, admiring the work he’d captured.

Hearing Shannon Quinn’s voice outside the door, a slight curve appeared on his lips. He then put the phone into his pants pocket, stood up leisurely, and opened the door.

"Give back my phone!" As soon as the door opened, Shannon Quinn demanded.

Landon Sutton leaned lazily against the doorfra, crossing his arms, pretending to be clueless: "What phone?"

"Stop playing dumb! Hand it over!"

Landon Sutton, with a look of helpless indulgence, reached into his pocket and handed her his phone.

Shannon Quinn looked at it, her brow furrowed: "My phone!"

Landon Sutton took back his phone unhurriedly and said, "Why are you looking for your phone with ? I thought you were out of credit and wanted to borrow mine."

"Stop pretending! Was it you who posted to my Monts?!"

"Tonight was really worth it, the fireworks were just too beautiful!"

"Yeah, the boss really went all out this ti."

Two staff mbers walked down the hallway, glancing at Shannon Quinn and Landon Sutton as they passed.

Judging by their expressions, they seed to recognize Landon Sutton but not Shannon Quinn. After walking past, they began whispering to each other.

Once they were gone, Shannon Quinn pushed Landon Sutton, who was standing by the door, into the room, and then closed the door.

"Weren’t you just saying you didn’t want to stay with , Miss Quinn? Why now are you coming in on your own accord?"

Shannon Quinn, uninterested in his nonsense, pointed a finger at him, threateningly saying, "Are you going to hand it over?!"

Landon Sutton raised his eyebrows as if to say, what can you do if I don’t?

Shannon Quinn reached into his jacket pockets, and Landon Sutton stood still, cooperatively opening his arms, teasing, "Didn’t expect Miss Quinn to be so proactive, how does it feel?"

Ignoring him, Shannon Quinn searched all his jacket pockets, found nothing, and then imdiately reached into his pants pocket.

Just as she was about to pull out sothing phone-like, Landon Sutton pressed her hand through the fabric, ambiguously saying, "Can’t just touch down there, you might get into trouble."

Shannon Quinn rolled her eyes, forcefully withdrew her hand, realizing it was indeed her phone, "Thief."

"I didn’t steal it, I found it."

"You should return what you pick up. Even Leo knows that, but you don’t?"

Landon Sutton slightly turned, swiftly took off his coat and threw it on the bed, then said to Shannon Quinn, "So forgetful."

Having retrieved her phone, Shannon Quinn couldn’t be bothered to argue further and turned to walk out.

"Soone helped you and you won’t even say thank you? Even Leo knows this, don’t you?"

Shannon Quinn rudely rolled her eyes and closed the door.

She walked downstairs while preparing to delete that Monts post.

When she turned on the screen, it startled her a bit. The screen, which previously had Leo’s photo, was now replaced by Landon Sutton’s selfie.

The angle seed inexplicably strange characteristic of a man’s selfie, yet his good looks managed to make it look appealing. Even so, Shannon Quinn, feeling a little guilty, quickly changed the photo.

When she opened that Monts post, it had only been up for ten minutes or so, yet the comnts had already exploded, all wondering about the mysterious figure.

Shannon Quinn opened the delete page, hesitated for two seconds before her finger moved away from "delete" and lightly tapped on "set to private."

She then sent a unified ssage to respond, saying there were many people at the event and soone accidentally picked up the wrong phone, hence the post.

Returning to her room, Shannon Quinn kicked off her high heels and collapsed onto the sofa.

"Ding Dong—"

A new WeChat ssage notification appeared at the top of her phone, so Shannon Quinn opened it. The sender’s na was blank, and the avatar was pitch black, belonging to soone who had long been shelved in her friend list, nearly deleted.

Instead of text, he sent several photos, seemingly all taken that night.

Simply put, they were candid shots.

All of the photos featured her, and she guessed these were the best selections from him. The lighting and angles were quite well done.

Shannon Quinn carefully examined each photo, suddenly realizing that while she was chatting and laughing with others, soone had been quietly observing her.

Returning to the chat window, she opened the ssage box, but after staring at it for a while, not a single word ca out. As she was about to exit and put down her phone to sleep, another ssage popped up: Goodnight.

Seeing these two words, Shannon Quinn’s heart seed to beco much lighter, and her brow relaxed unwittingly.

She still didn’t reply, placed her phone by the bedside, tucked in Leo, adjusted herself into a comfortable position, and closed her eyes.

That night, most people wouldn’t choose to sleep; so would take the opportunity to et a good match, so would catch up with old friends over drinks, and many others would play gas and cards. Of course, a few like Shannon Quinn would sleep with their children.

Landon Sutton woke up around three in the morning, put on his coat, and stepped out of his room, lighting a cigarette while standing in the hallway outside.

Unable to fall back asleep, he paced back and forth in front of Shannon Quinn’s door for several minutes but didn’t have the heart to wake her at such an early hour.

"Vincent?"

Just as Landon Sutton was about to leave, a young woman called to him from behind as a door opened.

Landon Sutton looked up, puzzled by the woman addressing him. It’s not surprising that soone knew him, but everyone knew him as Landon Sutton, so how did she know he was Vincent Rhodes?

"And you are?"

It was with this curiosity that Landon Sutton asked the question, as he would otherwise likely have ignored her.

The woman smiled and stepped out of the room, closing the door behind her as she looked at Landon Sutton and said, "I didn’t expect it to really be you. Don’t you rember ? I’m Sylvie, Sylvie Pierce."

"Oh, Grandpa Pierce’s granddaughter?" As soon as he heard her na, Landon Sutton realized who she was.

Grandpa Pierce and his own grandfather were old comrades-in-arms who still kept in touch, and he was well-acquainted with Sylvie Pierce’s brother, too, so it wasn’t surprising that Sylvie knew him as Vincent Rhodes.

He’d t Sylvie only a few tis in childhood, though her brother often ntioned her.

Sylvie Pierce smiled gently, saying, "I didn’t expect to et you here. Are you also a friend of Mr. Z?"

Landon Sutton rely nodded, naturally unwilling to explain that he was there because of a woman.

"Want to sit downstairs for a bit? Did you retire at the sa ti as my brother?"
