Early the next morning, since Erin Bishop didn’t have to go to the office so early, she could help her watch the child.

Shannon Quinn texted Vincent Rhodes to et up, and he replied saying he would be there soon.

Shannon Quinn didn’t know where he ant by "there," but halfway through breakfast, Vincent Rhodes called to say he was waiting downstairs.

She rushed to the balcony for a glance, hurriedly finished the bread in her hand, didn’t bother to tidy up, changed clothes, and went downstairs.

Clearly, she was going for a divorce, yet she had the feeling of going on a date with him.

When she got downstairs, she saw Vincent Rhodes’ car parked by the roadside. He was standing by the car door wearing sunglasses, just standing there was enough to attract attention. Passing girls couldn’t help but take a second look at him, while his eyes under the sunglasses were completely focused on the approaching Shannon Quinn.

She didn’t know if he had to go to the office later or if he just preferred this attire, as he was still in a sleek dark suit with no expression visible on his face.

"Have you had breakfast?"

Shannon Quinn nodded slightly, she thought the first thing he’d ask about would be the child.

"Let’s go." He opened the passenger door, politely gesturing for Shannon Quinn to get in.

Shannon Quinn hesitated for a mont, didn’t accept the gesture, and instead opened the back door herself and got in.

Vincent Rhodes paused but said nothing, walked around the car and got into the driver’s seat, then drove off.

In the car, Shannon Quinn’s gaze was constantly outside the window. Vincent Rhodes looked straight ahead, occasionally glancing at Shannon Quinn through the rearview mirror, as if wanting to say sothing, but didn’t know where to start.

He knew well that no amount of words could change anything now, he hadn’t done anything for her, and wanting to bind her with him just with an "I love you" was indeed selfish.

At the civil affairs bureau, there were people getting married and divorced. The sweet monts of newlyweds, and the indifference after hopeful aspirations about marriage, with both laughter and argunts.

Shannon Quinn didn’t know which category she belonged to, feeling like none of these emotions matched her. Marriage and divorce seed like sothing she hadn’t personally experienced.

They hadn’t followed the process when getting married, but did everything according to the rules when divorcing, not taking much ti.

Ironically, she held the divorce certificate in her hand, yet still didn’t know what the marriage certificate looked like.

Shannon Quinn put the docunts into her bag, feeling no sense of relief inside.

"Shannon..." Vincent Rhodes called her as they stepped out of the civil affairs bureau.

Shannon Quinn stopped, speaking to herself, "I’ll take a taxi back myself, you go do your thing."

She was eager to clarify and cut off their relationship, sothing Vincent Rhodes had expected, so he wasn’t surprised, but what he wanted to say wasn’t that.

"I’m sorry for causing you so much trouble. I’ve seldom seen things from your perspective, if..."

"No need for that, neither of us owes the other, you also spent a lot of money on the wedding, I don’t bla you, just feel that the divorce benefits everyone."

Vincent Rhodes tugged at the corners of his mouth, realizing she no longer belonged to him, making it hard to smile, his tone a bit lancholic, and softly asked her, "...Will you remarry?"

Shannon Quinn paused, then smiled and said, "That’s my own business now."

Vincent Rhodes smiled and said, "I didn’t an anything else, I just wanted to say, if you do marry, find soone who’ll be good for both you and the child. Don’t forget what you’ve always wanted."

"Yeah, I know what matters, if there’s nothing else, I’ll leave now."

Vincent Rhodes didn’t nod, obviously reluctant to part because after this, he didn’t know what their next eting would be like, whether she’d be nestled in another man’s arms, and whether that man could give her the stable life she wanted.

He dared not think about it, selfishly wishing she’d wait for him to co back, but couldn’t bear to bring any more turmoil to her and the child.

Shannon Quinn walked toward the roadside, and it just so happened there was a taxi driving nearby, she raised her hand to flag it down.

As the car slowly approached her, Vincent Rhodes couldn’t help but call out to her, "Shannon..."

Shannon Quinn turned around, her gaze mild as she looked at him, showing no trace of reluctance in her eyes.

They looked at each other for a while, the car stopped in front of Shannon Quinn.

Seeing him remaining silent, Shannon Quinn turned her head, reached out, and opened the car door.

And at that mont, his voice, carried by the morning breeze, reached her ears.

"What I said about love was true."

His voice was very light, almost like he was talking to himself. Shannon Quinn heard it, but it was unclear, as car horns on the road drowned out all other sounds.

She feigned indifference, as if she didn’t hear anything, and got into the car, crouching a bit.

The car started slowly, driving forward.

After traveling a distance, Shannon Quinn looked back outside the window, and he was still standing there, facing the direction she left.

At that mont, Shannon Quinn’s heart ached a bit, her nose felt slightly sore.

If this is the taste of love, she’d rather not taste it.

Back ho, as soon as she opened the door, she heard the child crying.

Erin Bishop was holding the child, and when she saw Shannon Quinn return, it was like seeing a savior.

"Oh my gosh, you’ve finally returned. I can’t manage, no matter how I comfort, still crying, clings too much to you, right?!"

Shannon Quinn quickly changed her shoes, went over to take the child in her arms, "Probably hungry."

Sitting on the sofa, her breastfeeding posture was no longer clumsy, and the child quieted down too.

Erin Bishop sat next to her and softly asked, "Did you get it done?"

"Yeah."

"How do you feel? What about your heart?"

Shannon Quinn’s gaze sowhat lacked focus on the coffee table, a sowhat forced smile, "No feelings really, there was hardly any interaction between us anyway. Both marriage and divorce, I went through them alone."

"Shannon, are you really open-minded or are you holding your feelings inside? You say that without the child, divorcing is no big deal. I agree with that, but now there’s still a little one between you two. I don’t believe you can just let go that easily."

"Whether I can let go or not, I have to."

Erin Bishop pursed her lips, unwilling to tangle with these matters affecting Shannon Quinn’s mood, just said, "Now that everything’s almost settled, find a ti to register the child’s residence."

"Hmm, I’ll go this afternoon."

"Have you chosen a na? We can’t keep calling him Leo, right?"

Shannon Quinn looked down at the child in her arms, paused for two seconds, and said, "Let’s call him Finn Quinn."

"Finn Quinn? What’s the aning behind it?"

Shannon Quinn recalled Vincent Rhodes’ words in her mind, but just smiled and shook her head at Erin Bishop, "Just think it sounds nice."

"Alright, it’s your son, your call. But the na is nice, simple and elegant, he’ll surely grow up to be dashingly charismatic."
