Shannon Quinn received an anonymous delivery, inside was an unsigned letter.

From the start, Shannon had a bad feeling. When she opened the envelope, the letter was full of filthy words. Even though she had heard these insults many tis, they still made her feel uncomfortable each ti.

It’s hard to get used to or beco numb to things like this.

She crumpled the letter into a ball and threw it into the trash can, feeling even more worried.

Today it’s a letter; could it be red paint or acid splashed tomorrow?

Her situation has not yet been posted online; it’s just June Yardley stirring things up in her own circles. If it goes public in the dia, even the internet trolls alone could drive her into depression, not to ntion any doxxing.

Sotis she indeed felt guilty towards Vincent Rhodes, but sotis she didn’t even understand what mistake she had made.

When she was enduring it all alone, where was Vincent Rhodes?

"Shannon, shall we go out for dinner tonight? I saw a new ran shop open on the street downstairs. I want to try it."

Snapping out of her thoughts, Shannon answered Erin Bishop, who was in the bedroom, "Sure."

Erin changed out of her work clothes into a denim jacket paired with a long dress, dressing quite casually.

"Didn’t you just pick up a delivery? What did you buy?"

"Oh, nothing important, let’s go." Shannon smiled and brushed it off, picked up her bag on the couch, and headed towards the door.

Outside the door, both glanced at the tightly closed door next door. Erin curiously asked, "Co to think of it, I haven’t seen Landon Sutton in quite so ti, did you two have a fight?"

"What would I have to fight about with him?" Shannon had noticed this already but kept telling herself it didn’t matter where he went.

"Ah, n really are all pigs, only interested for three minutes. When they’re chasing you, they want to stick to you every day, but in a few days, they either lose patience or fall for soone else."

Shannon actually thought it was good this way. If Landon Sutton kept pursuing her relentlessly, she’d be even more troubled.

At least with no ties to Landon Sutton, she wouldn’t have to worry about him finding out after the baby was born.

"What about you and Ronan Rhodes?" Shannon changed the subject, asking Erin.

Just as the elevator reached their floor, as the door opened, there stood Ronan Rhodes inside with a girl who looked like a student. Not the sa woman from last ti.

Caught by the two, Ronan’s smile turned slightly awkward but he still greeted them, "Heading out tonight?"

Shannon nodded, "Going out for dinner."

"Who are they? Do you know them?" asked the young girl standing beside him.

This ti Ronan gently replied to the young girl, "Kids shouldn’t butt into adults’ business."

With that, he led the young girl out of the elevator, "Enjoy your al."

Erin pulled Shannon into the elevator, and as soon as the doors closed, Erin said with disdain, "Look at that. How could I have anything with him? I no longer have thoughts about his brother, and have almost no contact with him."

Shannon comnted, "Well, he changes won quite frequently, and this girl seems young. Just getting ruined by him like that."

"You can’t put it that way. Nowadays, girls aren’t as innocent as you think. If she were a proper girl, would she go ho with a man so soon after eting? This is mutual. You call it mutual agreent, not ruining anyone."

"Not sure if it’s that n are good at fooling young girls these days, or if young girls are too easily fooled."

"There are all kinds of people. I think we should keep our distance from Ronan Rhodes. His private life is so chaotic. Who knows if he might contract so disease? Recently, I saw so people say that those with AIDS intentionally do things like that to take revenge on others."

"Is it really that serious?"

"Ding," and the elevator reached the ground floor. Exiting shoulder to shoulder, Erin said, "It’s just that you haven’t seen much. The world’s a dark place."

During dinner, Shannon received a text ssage from an unfamiliar number, similar to the evening’s letter, full of insults and curses on her unborn child.

Taking a deep breath, she quickly deleted the text.

Originally having a good appetite, her mood to eat was ruined.

She wasn’t sure if all this was orchestrated by June Yardley, but so words indeed hit her where it hurt.

Maybe June wasn’t even sure if she was pregnant, just spreading rumors recklessly.

Even if false, for June it wouldn’t cause any harm, besides gossip about the Rhodes Family’s second son and Young Madam has always been a favorite topic in their circles.

One spreads to another, and then it slowly becos widespread.

So people had been waiting to laugh at her, now they can’t wait to step on her when she’s down.

Words spoken may be painless, but they stabbed deeply into Shannon’s heart.

At night, she received two harassing calls, both from n spewing vulgarities as soon as she answered, causing her to quickly hang up.

Turning off her phone, she sat at the edge of her bed, unable to sleep for a long ti.

Through the window, she saw the colorful but cold night lights.

Sitting there for a long ti, thinking for a long ti, she cried alone.

She just wanted to be an ordinary woman; even if she hadn’t married for love, she still longed for a complete family. But why was such a simple wish so hard for her to obtain?

Sobbing quietly for a while, she then wiped her tears away, picked up her phone, turned it on, and found Vincent Rhodes’ text page, typing out: I want to terminate the pregnancy.

Her finger hovered over the send button for a while, then it trembled and finally touched it.

ssage sent successfully.

She stared at the screen for a long ti, waiting until it went black, once again leaving her in darkness. Shannon closed her eyes, letting the tears fall.

She placed the phone by her pillow, pulled the blanket over herself, curling up under it, scared to cry out loud alone...

The next evening, Elaine Yardley went with Lynn Kendall as promised to The Azure Lounge.

The bar had a lively nightti atmosphere, with music waves making Elaine feel uneasy.

Having worked here before, although this bar was a clean, reputable establishnt, the patrons weren’t always well-behaved.

There were always those who took advantage, but back when she was a part-tir, colleagues helped her out, so nothing major happened.

Coming back here, she still felt uneasy in this environnt.

Lynn led her to a table in the VIP area, in a corner far from the dance floor, making it much quieter.

Multicolored lights flickered around them. Feeling uneasy, Elaine leaned closer to Lynn, asking, "Lynn, what do I need to do later?"

Lynn glanced at her with a smile, saying, "Don’t worry, just eat, drink, and chat."
