Miss Lu smiled and nodded, "That would be wonderful. Mrs. Jiang, please call Youxi as well. If one of you calls Miss Lu and the other calls President Lu, it feels incredibly awkward."

Mrs. Jiang hadn’t expected that a casual remark from Zilin would bring such a pleasant surprise.

It was certainly more than welco.

However, Mrs. Jiang still paid attention to managing her expressions, not allowing herself to appear too eager.

With the kindness typical of an elder, she nodded and said, "Certainly. Calling you President Lu is not out of reluctance to be familiar, but rather for fear of displeasing you. Yet to call you Mrs. Zhou seems inappropriate given how outstanding you are in your own career. Soone as capable and exceptional as you shouldn’t be seen as soone’s appendage."

Zilin’s heart leapt to her throat.

How could her mother dare to refer to Zhou Shuyan as just anyone?

Mrs. Jiang’s words delighted Lu Youxi.

Regardless of whether Mrs. Jiang was trying to please her, she certainly hit the nail on the head at least.

No wonder the Jiang Family looked down on the Lin Family after knowing their ssy affairs.

The Jiangs were clear-headed people indeed.

"You’re right, when I’m outside, others may call Mrs. Zhou, and although I won’t object, I prefer to be called President Lu," Lu Youxi said with a smile. "In contrast, when Zhou Shuyan talks about to others outside, he always calls President Lu, and not Mrs."

"I know what he ans, he too sees as an independent individual. He knows that my achievents now are all earned through my own efforts. He does not want others to think I’m just his appendage," Lu Youxi explained.

"If he heard you say that, he would be really pleased," Lu Youxi added.

Zilin had never expected Zhou Shuyan to be this way.

Even Mrs. Jiang was surprised.

They felt more than ever that Zhou Shuyan and Lu Youxi were a perfect match.

Just as the three of them were enjoying a great atmosphere chatting and laughing, the housekeeper ca over and whispered to Mrs. Jiang, "Madam, Lin Zhenghao and Lin Jingshen are outside."

"What are they here for?" Mrs. Jiang asked in surprise, accidentally raising her voice too high.

Zilin heard this and asked, "Mom, who is it?"

Mrs. Jiang thought it over, with Lin Zhenghao and Lin Jingshen outside, it was impossible to hide, so she just had to tell.

"What are they here for!" Zilin’s previously good mood was instantly ruined.

Lu Youxi then stood up, "Then I should head back first."

"There’s no need," Zilin pulled her back down to sit, "Since you already know about these things, there’s nothing to avoid."

Mrs. Jiang nodded, having just grown a bit closer to Lu Youxi, she thought to capitalize on the warr relations.

Now if Lu Youxi left imdiately, such a good atmosphere would not be easily recreated.

"I guess they must be here about business," Mrs. Jiang said, "Lately, our two families together have been dealing with Lin’s, and tis have been tough for them."

"Yesterday Zilin’s dad ntioned to that Lin’s can’t find a suitable construction company to handle their projects. Each day of delay brings them losses," Mrs. Jiang inford Lu Youxi.

Lu Youxi thought to herself that this situation was very much like when Lin Zhenghao had sched against her before.

When she was building the Youshu Hotel, Lin Zhenghao had purposely instigated the construction team to strike, aiming to delay her.

A day’s delay in the middle of construction ant losses for her.

But she hadn’t lost much at the ti, whereas now Lin Zhenghao was losing quite a bit.

Lu Youxi felt that Mrs. Jiang’s guess was probably about right.

Other than business interests, she couldn’t think of any other reason that would make Lin Zhenghao and his son co to apologize.

Certainly, they wouldn’t take the initiative to apologize for any wrongdoing on their part.

"No need to let them in. They care so much about face, thinking they’re such significant figures," Mrs. Jiang said, "Let them wait at the door then."

"In our villa area, although there aren’t many people walking outside, it’s not completely devoid of pedestrians. Occasionally, soone might co out and see them; anyway, it won’t be us who end up embarrassed," Mrs. Jiang said coldly.

"Anyway, by now who doesn’t know that our family called off the engagent because of the disgraceful things done by Lin Jingshen from their family?" Mrs. Jiang, worried Zilin might beco upset, spoke first, "It’s not us who should feel embarrassed."

"Yeah!" Zilin nodded firmly, "Mom, don’t worry, I’m fine. Let’s just let them embarrass themselves at our front door."

Mrs. Jiang then told the housekeeper, "If they stay at the door for more than an hour, co and tell ."

"Okay," the housekeeper nodded and kept watch.

Mrs. Jiang, Zilin, and Lu Youxi were unfazed and continued their conversation.

After an hour, the housekeeper ca back and said, "Madam, they’re still there."

Mrs. Jiang nodded and stood up, "I’ll go out and et them."

"Mom, do you want to co with you?" Zilin asked.

Mrs. Jiang thought for a few seconds and said, "Let’s see how it goes first. If needed, I’ll have the housekeeper co get you two to join in the commotion."

Lu Youxi thought to herself that Mrs. Jiang was really sothing.

She even considered having her join in.

Mrs. Jiang apparently felt that, since she too had issues with the Lin Family tripping her up and now that the Lin Family’s embarrassing situation was in full view, she should also witness it firsthand.

Lu Youxi was actually quite pleased about this.

Zilin nodded and then stayed with Lu Youxi in the living room.

Mrs. Jiang followed the housekeeper out the door, finding Lin Jingshen and Lin Zhenghao still waiting at the entrance.

Both of them, too tired from standing, kept shifting from foot to foot.

"Oh, you two are still here?" Mrs. Jiang mocked.

"Mrs. Jiang," Lin Zhenghao hurriedly said, "I ca here specifically to apologize to Mr. Jiang, to you, and to Zilin."

"This young man made a mistake, and although we have apologized before," Lin Zhenghao continued, "I have always felt that another very sincere apology is due."

"May we co in?" Lin Zhenghao asked.

"There’s no need for that, we already made it quite clear before that no matter how you apologize, we won’t accept it, and we should cease any further contact," Mrs. Jiang retorted coldly.

"Thing is, we still have matters we’d like to discuss with President Jiang," Lin Zhenghao maintained his humble stance.

Mrs. Jiang scoffed, "Sorry, but my husband is not ho today."

Lin Zhenghao paused in surprise.

He had specifically chosen this Saturday to co over.

Jiang Wangchao was well known for being a devoted family man.

Whenever he wasn’t working, he was surely at ho.

He had even made sure to check that Jiang Wangchao had no work today, so why wouldn’t he be at ho?

"Then... can Lin Jingshen apologize to Zilin in person?" Lin Zhenghao asked again.
