Tonight, both Xu Jingmin and Liu Yushu were particularly joyful as they were both free from people they disliked.
For Xu Jingmin, this was the most comfortable New Year’s Eve since the death of Zhou Shuyan’s father.

“Yes!” Xu Jingmin nodded. Since it was the New Year, Aunt Yao had taken a holiday and went ho for the festival.
She wouldn’t be returning until the fourth day of the New Year.
Thinking about the big house being left with only herself and Zhou Shuyan, Xu Jingmin couldn’t help but feel a bit sentintal and dragged Liu Yushu into the conversation, “Just the two of us, it feels so empty and lifeless.”
“In previous years, since his father passed away, every New Year felt bland. “Youxi is still young. Let nature take its course; I won’t rush them,” Xu Jingmin said, holding Liu Yushu’s hand, “Besides, with you all around, from now on, our two families can celebrate the New Year together!”
