Chapter 291: Chapter 291: That Person Was Up to No Good Chapter 291: Chapter 291: That Person Was Up to No Good To avoid discussing business with clients and having them turn up to find that we’re in an internet café, thinking we’re unreliable.

The office isn’t big, but the price is acceptable, so Lu Youxi decided to rent it for a year first.

But when the scale gets bigger, we’ll still need to change the location.

However, within this year, Lu Youxi didn’t plan on moving the office frequently.

These past few days, they have been tidying up the temporary office space at the internet café.

That tiny office only housed Ji Deyi and Pei Jingyuan.

But the two of them were always calculating by hand and by computer, and there were all sorts of assumptions and so on.

The office was stacked with so many files and docunts that they couldn’t be moved all at once.

Because of the move, the internet café’s office was in disarray.

Lu Youxi returned to the internet café around noon.

As soon as Lu Youxi entered the internet café, she saw Liu Yushu and Lu Zhenguo distributing boxed lunches to custors.

“Youxi? Why have you co back at this ti?” Lu Zhenguo asked in surprise as he saw Lu Youxi enter.

When Liu Yushu heard this, she quickly looked over.

Lu Youxi explained, “I ca to discuss so things with Pei Jingyuan and Ji Deyi.”

After distributing the lunches, Liu Yushu ca back and said, “You haven’t had lunch yet, right? I’ve just delivered boxed lunches to Xiao Pei and Xiao Ji. Wait for ; I’ll go back and make one for you.”

“Great,” Lu Youxi said with a smile, “I’ve been eating the cafeteria food at school all the ti, and I miss the food you make.”

“Wait for ; I’ll make you sothing delicious,” Liu Yushu said cheerfully. “Is there anything special you want to eat?”

“Anything is fine; just make sothing with what we have at ho. I like it all,” Lu Youxi said with a smile.

Lu Youxi really wasn’t picky about food.

Since she was young back in Hexing Village, it was hard to get at for most of the year, at most she could have so at soup mixed with rice or dip stead buns in at soup and eat it with vegetables.

She still rembered that Liu Yushu would often sneak her a couple of bites of at while cooking in the kitchen.

She dared not give her too much, as there was only so much at to go around.

The family was saving it for Old Master Lu and Lu Zhenguo, with most of it naturally going to Old Master Lu.

If too much went missing, it would be easily noticed.

When Lu Youxi was young, she was obedient and clever.

When Liu Yushu sneaked at to her, she would quietly eat it.

But as she grew older and beca dissatisfied with her family’s ways, even if Liu Yushu sneaked at to her, she wouldn’t eat it.

Even though Lu Youxi ate little, Liu Yushu knew what flavors and foods Lu Youxi liked.

But back then, conditions weren’t good, and there were only so many types and flavors of at available at ho, so even if Lu Youxi had been picky, there wouldn’t have been much opportunity for it.

Later, once they got to the Imperial Capital, their household wasn’t so extravagant as to eat whatever they wanted, but they could afford chicken, duck, beef, lamb, pork like most families, and occasionally they could splurge a bit and eat sothing better.

So Liu Yushu tried making various types of ats and flavors for Lu Youxi, and Lu Youxi really liked them.

“Okay!” Liu Yushu happily went ho to prepare lunch for Lu Youxi.

Lu Youxi then went upstairs to the office at the end of the corridor.

Pei Jingyuan and Ji Deyi were also having lunch.

The two no longer worked as internet café managers, but Liu Yushu still looked after their als.

Seeing how hard the two kids worked made Liu Yushu’s heart ache; she feared that without her looking after them, they might be too lazy to eat, or just fill their stomachs with sothing like biscuits or instant noodles.

So she always made an extra portion for them, giving them plenty of food, much more than she provided for internet café custors.

“Boss, why have you co back at this ti?” Pei Jingyuan, with a mouthful of food, saw Lu Youxi co in.

“It’s a director from Chengzhou Group, nad Zhou Xueyi. His assistant contacted , saying sothing about wanting to invest in us, and arranged to visit the company at one-thirty this afternoon,” Lu Youxi explained.

“That good?” Ji Deyi was surprised, “Does our Little Pink Book really have that much potential?”

Even though it had perford quite well since it launched, the idea that soone wanted to invest so soon still surprised Ji Deyi.

“What’s good about it? That person certainly has no good intentions,” Lu Youxi said.

“What’s he planning to do? Our tiny broken company doesn’t have anything for him to sche over, right?” Pei Jingyuan glanced around the ssy office.

Who else’s office is inside an internet café?

And these days, they also have to cope with moving the office; the office is even more disorderly than before.

Anyone who cos and sees their company this way would surely think they’re unreliable, right?

“I don’t know what he’s planning, which is why I agreed to et with him to see exactly what he wants,” Lu Youxi said, dragging over a chair to sit down. She shared with Pei Jingyuan and Ji Deyi what Cao Zhijie had told her.

“Think about it, for others starting a business, getting investnt is quite difficult, but Zhou Xueyi insists on approaching us to invest, offering a lot, and he’s even in a hurry, wanting to et us this afternoon,” said Lu Youxi.

Lu Youxi sneered, “I’ve already inquired; Zhou Xueyi doesn’t have any real power within Chengzhou and doesn’t have much work to handle everyday; he just sits idly in his office. Negotiating business isn’t sothing that cos to him. Where does he get the idea of having other schedules? Even if there are, it wouldn’t be so full for the next eight days that he’s booked solid.”

“It’s just an excuse to appear less eager,” Lu Youxi said, “But with him being so anxious and showing such strong support, proactively offering money, there must be sothing abnormal.”

“Now that you ntion it, it does seem suspicious,” Ji Deyi nodded.

He and Pei Jingyuan, though dedicated to their profession, were not so naive as to be utterly clueless.

Zhou Xueyi’s behavior was indeed odd.

Lu Youxi thought it over and still decided to share the news Zhou Shuyan had told her with the two of them.

She had initially felt that there was no rush to reveal it since Chengzhou hadn’t yet contacted her, to save Pei Jingyuan and Ji Deyi the disappointnt if the news turned out to be incorrect.

“Zhou Shuyan told so news he heard,” Lu Youxi said, with a warning, “But until Chengzhou contacts us, it’s still uncertain, and they might change their minds mid-way. So you two just listen, but don’t take it too much to heart or dwell on it.”

“What’s up?” Ji Deyi asked.

Lu Youxi then told them about Chengzhou also being interested in investing.

“Boss, what do you think? If Chengzhou really contacts us wanting to invest, what are your thoughts?” Pei Jingyuan asked.

“I asked Zhou Shuyan, and he said that Chengzhou’s external investnts in their group are of the wide-cast net kind, they won’t seize control of the company. The stock shares they invest in are also within a normal range,” Lu Youxi said, “But all this still depends on Chengzhou really contacting us; we’ll know for sure then.”
