“There’s nothing amazing about it,” Zhou Shuyan said with a gentle smile. “Moreover, I wasn’t involved in that. I didn’t pull any strings or leak any information to you. You were selected on your own rits.”
Pei Jingyuan nodded emphatically, “The boss kept it from you at first for fear it would affect your work. You did nothing, yet because of us, you were suspected. What an injustice.”
Ji Deyi sighed, saying, “If it were up to us, we should ideally avoid such conflicts of interest. But right now, at the start of our venture, we had no choice. Chengzhou’s support program is too good an opportunity to pass up.”
