Chapter 276: Chapter 276: Unexpectedly, You’re So Jealous Chapter 276: Chapter 276: Unexpectedly, You’re So Jealous Of course, it was purely out of curiosity.

After all, the current internet cafe manager, whom they had casually asked about before out of curiosity, also turned out to be a student from Jing University.

They couldn’t help but marvel that Lu Youxi’s internet cafe was still quite reliable; even though the manager had changed, the school hadn’t—it was still Jing University.

“They’ve gone off to start a company,” Lu Youxi said with a chuckle.

The crowd: “…”

Soone uncertainly asked, “It’s not this Little Pink Book, is it?”

“Indeed it is,” confird Lu Youxi with a nod.

Who knew this would provoke a round of hearty laughter?

“I was just saying, which poor company would co rent office space at an internet cafe?”

“Yeah, haha, it turns out to be the internet cafe managers Xiao Pei and Xiao Ji; that makes sense,” another chid in.

Lu Youxi raised her eyebrows, “Sorry to burst your bubble, but they’re no longer internet cafe managers. Pei Jingyuan is Little Pink Book’s lead designer and Xiao Ji is the chief engineer.”

The crowd: “…”

“How many people do you have in your company?” soone curiously asked. They were suddenly chief designers and engineers?

“Three,” Lu Youxi replied with a beaming smile, holding up three fingers.

“Ha, a whole three people, and all ‘chief’ sothing,” the custor laughed again, “The other one wouldn’t happen to be the boss, right?”

“Yes, that’s ,” Lu Youxi nodded.

The crowd paused, and a mont’s silence was followed by soone asking, “Boss, are you for real?”

Smiling rrily, Lu Youxi didn’t confirm or deny, “You guess.”

With that, she went upstairs.

The patrons looked at each other, unsure.

Guess?

Guess what?

“I reckon the boss is just pulling our leg.”

“I think so too.”

Lu Youxi was just a freshman; it was impressive enough that she could run an internet cafe.

Besides, she still had her studies; where would she find the energy to run another company on top of that?

And starting a company with just three people?

What a joke!

It seed impossible.

So the patrons once again focused on their browsing and stopped pondering over the Little Pink Book Company.

At 18:30 in the afternoon, Zhou Shuyan arrived at the internet cafe.

Lu Youxi happened to be on the first floor of the cafe, distributing dinner to the patrons with Liu Yushu and Lu Zhenguo.

When Liu Yushu ca back to grab more boxed als, she spotted Zhou Shuyan.

“Xiao Zhou, wait a sec,” Liu Yushu said, turning to call out to Lu Youxi before Zhou Shuyan could respond, “Youxi, Xiao Zhou’s here. You stop what you’re doing; your dad and I can handle it here.”

“I’ll be done in a second.” Lu Youxi finished handing out the als she had and then walked over.

“Which area are we distributing to next?” Zhou Shuyan bent over, took a boxed al, and prepared to help out.

Liu Yushu hurriedly stopped him, even taking the al out of his hands, “It’s just a little bit left; you two don’t need to worry about it.”

“Youxi, go on your date with Xiao Zhou,” Liu Yushu urged.

Worried that Liu Yushu would make too much food, Lu Youxi had told her earlier that she wouldn’t be having dinner at ho with Zhou Shuyan.

Liu Yushu naturally interpreted that as the two going on a date.

“It’s just a little bit left; let’s finish this and then we can go,” Lu Youxi offered.

“Yeah, we’re not in a hurry,” agreed Zhou Shuyan, picking up so more boxed als.

Unable to dissuade them, Liu Yushu and Lu Zhenguo joined Lu Youxi and Zhou Shuyan in finishing the al distribution.

With Zhou Shuyan’s help, they went significantly faster than before.

After delivering the als, Liu Yushu rushed them to go have dinner.

“It’s getting late; by the ti you get to the restaurant, what ti will it be?” Liu Yushu urged. “Hurry on now.”

While Liu Yushu was sowhat concerned about the cost…

It wasn’t easy for Lu Youxi and Zhou Shuyan to earn money, and the young couple were heading out to dine at a restaurant—how expensive that could be!

Even with her worries, Liu Yushu didn’t hold them back.

Lu Youxi and Zhou Shuyan said their goodbyes to Liu Yushu and Lu Zhenguo, then left the internet cafe.

Zhou Shuyan promptly hailed a taxi, “Let’s go.”

“Why are we taking a cab?” Lu Youxi was taken aback. “It’s so expensive.”

Zhou Shuyan chuckled, “Let’s splurge just this once.”

Seeing the taxi had already stopped by the curb, Lu Youxi could only give in and join Zhou Shuyan in the car.

“You started a new company with Ji Deyi and Pei Jingyuan, called Little Pink Book?” Zhou Shuyan asked Lu Youxi directly, not bothering to probe.

Lu Youxi: “…”

Can she ever keep a secret from this man?

She’d once donned the alias ‘Hope’ to play the stock market and he’d seen right through that disguise.

Now she’d started a company without breathing a word to him and he sohow found out again!

“How did you know about it?” Lu Youxi asked, both surprised and resigned.

“Are you deliberately keeping it from ?” Zhou Shuyan actually seed surprised.

“Not exactly,” Lu Youxi confessed, since he already knew, “We just participated in Chengzhou’s support program, though we’re not sure yet if we’ll be selected. But since you work at Chengzhou, I was worried that if I told you and others found out about our relationship, it might negatively impact your job.”

Zhou Shuyan was about to speak when Lu Youxi continued, “Though you’re just an ordinary employee, it’s still best to be cautious. What if they think you ordinary folks can dig up important information?”

“Your job is a good one; you can’t afford to lose it.” Lu Youxi explained, “So I kept it from you. As long as you don’t know, you won’t let anything slip, and your company won’t find out. If they do ask you about it later, you won’t know anything and won’t be able to say anything, and hopefully, that ans they won’t be able to say anything either.”

Zhou Shuyan: “…”

He wondered if Lu Youxi had been watching too many spy dramas.

She was acting as if this were so sort of espionage affair—overly cautious, in his opinion.

Zhou Shuyan smiled wryly, admitting, “Ironically, I heard about it from a colleague.”

“How did your colleague know about us…” Lu Youxi asked.

“Do you rember the ti I was finalizing a deal with a client and you ca to pick up?” Zhou Shuyan asked.

“Of course, it’s the ti you had that blind date with the client’s niece, right?” Lu Youxi clearly rembered.

Zhou Shuyan: “…”

Zhou Shuyan held his forehead in regret; inviting Lu Youxi to pick him up that ti had backfired.

While it effectively quashed Lai Zhonglin’s hopes, it seed to have given Lu Youxi ammunition to tease him with.

Each ti that incident ca up, there was no escape from the topic of the blind date.

Zhou Shuyan looked at Lu Youxi in silence, not out of anger, but quietly observing her.

Lu Youxi wasn’t sure what Zhou Shuyan ant by his silence.

Just as she was about to turn the tables and ask him, she heard Zhou Shuyan chuckle softly, his voice as refreshing as a cool spring, “I didn’t expect your jealousy to be quite so fierce.”

“Who… Who said I’m jealous!” Lu Youxi protested with a raised voice, even as her face flushed red.
