Chapter 240: Chapter 240: Lu Youxi really treats their school like a talent market, huh? Chapter 240: Chapter 240: Lu Youxi really treats their school like a talent market, huh? So the two of them frequently got together to discuss things, and Ji Deyi’s contribution was absolutely indispensable to the software’s success.

Ji Deyi was startled for a mont when he heard Lu Youxi say “you guys.”

Lu Youxi noticed this and smiled, “Pei Jingyuan may have designed it, but you’ve helped a lot too. The results of your discussions together surely can’t be credited to Pei Jingyuan alone.”

Ji Deyi scratched his head; he did often help on the side.

Moreover, after Pei Jingyuan finished work, he didn’t leave but continued to fiddle with things here. With Ji Deyi around, he definitely had to help with ideas, testing, and so forth.

Sotis, Pei Jingyuan would hit a bottleneck or dead end in his thought process, and it was Ji Deyi who would co up with a few other approaches from the sidelines and help find a solution.

It had always been assud that Pei Jingyuan was the sole developer.

But Lu Youxi had actually included him too.

“Right!” Pei Jingyuan nodded. “Actually, this software could never have been completed so quickly without Old Ji’s help.”

Ji Deyi kept scratching his head. He really hadn’t expected they would count him in.

“At my place, there’s no way one of our own would be left at a disadvantage,” said Lu Youxi. “As for this software, regardless of whether or not we can get Chengzhou’s support, we should go register it first.”

“I’ll share my plan first,” Lu Youxi spoke.

Pei Jingyuan and Ji Deyi sat upright like well-behaved kids listening to their mother, both turning their gaze to Lu Youxi to hear her plan.

Lu Youxi: “…”

Faced with their stares, Lu Youxi felt a sudden spike of pressure.

“Now that the software can already be used, what we need to do going forward is to keep optimizing and refining it. I’ll go register a company first, and then we’ll work with Chengzhou on a company-to-company basis,” said Lu Youxi. “That way, when it cos ti to discuss the terms of the collaboration and the price, we’ll have more leeway than if it were just an individual negotiation.”

“Of course, I have my own selfish agenda. You two are talented, and if we went in as individuals for the talks, Chengzhou might discover you two talents and poach you directly,” Lu Youxi added.

Pei Jingyuan was taken aback by what Lu Youxi said, “Us? The talents that Chengzhou would poach? Boss, you’re really overestimating us.”

“Yeah, we’re both just freshn,” Ji Deyi nodded in agreent. “Chengzhou wouldn’t miss us. They get tons of resus from graduates of famous universities every year, as nurous as snowflakes.”

“Old Ji’s situation is sowhat less daunting, after all, he’s from Jing University. If we really do negotiate with Chengzhou, they’ll definitely value a student from a prestigious university more and would probably be more willing to give him a chance. My situation is different, only holding an associate degree. Just looking at my educational background, Chengzhou probably wouldn’t even bother discussing further.”

Yet Lu Youxi countered, “If that’s the case, Chengzhou would be missing out on a lot of talent.”

Pei Jingyuan was both touched and excited, “Boss, except for you, I doubt anyone else would think so highly of .”

Ji Deyi pointed to his own nose, bringing his face close to Pei Jingyuan’s, “And , it was who introduced you to the boss first.”

Pei Jingyuan pushed Ji Deyi’s face away and continued speaking to Lu Youxi, “Even if Chengzhou really did have the discernnt to poach , I wouldn’t leave! The boss has shown kindness, and on top of that, the boss is generous and doesn’t let her people suffer losses. No matter what, I would always follow the boss.”

“You sure know how to sweet-talk,” Ji Deyi comnted, “I rembered that computer guys usually aren’t this eloquent.”

Pei Jingyuan: “…”

But Ji Deyi imdiately turned to Lu Youxi and said, “Boss, what Old Pei said is exactly what I wanted to say. I’ll definitely be working with you too. Even if Chengzhou… even if they offer a managerial position, I wouldn’t go.”

Lu Youxi: “…”

“That’s an exaggeration, Chengzhou may value talent, but they aren’t going to offer you a managerial position right now,” said Lu Youxi, her mouth twitching.

“Let’s get back to the important stuff,” Lu Youxi continued. “About registering the company, here’s what I’m thinking. I don’t understand software, it’s all you guys, and you both have put in a lot of effort into developing this software. So I think the three of us should share the company’s stock.”

Ji Deyi blinked, “What do you an, are you saying we’ll also be bosses?”

Pei Jingyuan scratched his head, “I can’t, I can only tinker with codes and programming, I’m not good at anything else.”

“The managent side will be my responsibility, and you’ll only need to focus on your own areas of expertise. We’ll each do our part,” Lu Youxi said with a smile. “Now that you two will be bosses, you’ve got to be responsible for your own company. Developing software, won’t you do it even more wholeheartedly?”

Ji Deyi’s smile was so big he looked as if he might float away, “I never thought… at such a young age, and only a freshman, that I would beco a boss!”

“But, registration costs money, right?” Pei Jingyuan said. They were both strapped for cash; where would they get the money?

“I’ll put up the money,” said Lu Youxi. “Otherwise, what kind of face would I have to be the boss? You two can consider it as a technical investnt.”

“As for the allocation of shares, since I’ll cover all the capital investnt, I’ll hold 50%. The main designer of this software is Pei Jingyuan, so Pei Jingyuan will have 30% of the shares, and Ji Deyi will have 20%. What do you think?”

Neither Ji Deyi nor Pei Jingyuan had ever imagined they’d own such a significant share.

“Think long-term,” Lu Youxi continued. “To justify owning these shares, you better develop more software that can make the company money. The more shares you hold, the more money you’ll make from the successful software you develop.”

The two of them were so energized by Lu Youxi’s pep talk they were nearly ready to work all night without sleep to churn out another piece of software.

“When are we going to register the company?” Ji Deyi asked.

“I’ll take care of that tomorrow; the sooner, the better,” said Lu Youxi. “The deadline Chengzhou has given on the promotional page for the interviews is the ti to send in emails with self-recomndations, including resus and software descriptions, among other things. And they’ve specified that self-recomndations will be cut off one week before the interview, so we don’t have much ti.”

“What should we call our company?” Pei Jingyuan asked.

Lu Youxi looked at the icon made for the software by Pei Jingyuan and Ji Deyi.

Pei Jingyuan scratched his head, “This icon was just made temporarily for use. Should we get a professional design?”

“That’s not urgent, we can look for a student from the Jing University Art College to design it later,” Lu Youxi said with a casual tone that suggested she was just going to pick a nice cabbage from the field.

Ji Deyi: “…”

Lu Youxi really was treating their university like a talent market.

When there was a need, they’d just find a relevant major’s student from the school, quality and affordability.

Those companies probably couldn’t handle their affairs as conveniently as Lu Youxi did.
