Chapter 238: Chapter 238: College Students Starting Businesses Chapter 238: Chapter 238: College Students Starting Businesses Lu Youbang gave the address, “There are underage students surfing the Internet in their internet cafe.”

After hanging up the phone, Lu Youbang didn’t rush to leave.

After a while, a police car stopped at the entrance of the internet cafe.

Uniford police officers got out of the car, looked up at the na of the internet cafe, and walked to the entrance. Just as they were about to go in, they overheard a high school student inside arguing with Pei Jingyuan.

Pei Jingyuan was already impatient, “I don’t care whether you’re really of age or not, without an identity card to prove it, you can’t surf the Internet in our cafe.”

The high school student was also getting agitated, “At other cafes, nobody asked for an ID. Just by looking at my face, you can tell I’m of age.”

“Then go surf at another internet cafe,” Pei Jingyuan said, waving his hand in annoyance, “Our cafe requires an identity card.”

“How can you be so inflexible?”

So nearby custors who were tired of listening shouted, “Didn’t they say you can’t co in without an ID? What are you fussing about?”

“Yeah! Can you stop arguing and not disturb our gaming?”

“We all entered with our IDs.”

“If you really want to play here, co back with your ID next ti.”

“Without showing it, who knows if you just look mature?”

The two police officers looked at each other; this did not seem like a place that allowed underage internet usage.

“Let’s go in and take a look,” said the older police officer.

The younger police officer followed the older one into the cafe.

“Officer?” Pei Jingyuan hurriedly stood up, surprised, and asked, “Is there a problem?”

The older police officer showed his badge and said, “Soone reported that there are underage students surfing the Internet here.”

Pei Jingyuan couldn’t help but look at the boy in front of him, “Classmate, are you trying to set us up in so kind of scam?”

“Officer, all our current custors are here with their IDs, and you can check,” Pei Jingyuan added, “As for this student, he ca in claiming he didn’t have an ID but that he’s of age. However, our internet cafe has a rule; the boss has given us strict orders. Even if a seventy-year-old grandpa ca without an ID, we wouldn’t let him in, let alone him who looks just like a high school student. This kid has been pestering here.”

“Right! We’ll vouch for that!” a custor shouted, “This kid’s been hassling us for nearly twenty minutes now, and I’m fed up with it.”

“Our web admin here is pretty patient; if it were , I would have kicked him out long ago.”

The older police officer said to the younger one, “You start checking the custors’ IDs.”

The younger officer began checking IDs one by one, while the older officer stayed behind to question the boy, “What’s your na? How old are you? Which school do you go to?”

“I… I’ve graduated, I’m of age,” the student stubbornly insisted, bluffing.

Luckily, he hadn’t worn his school uniform when he left ho; the police would definitely not recognize it.

“Minors aren’t allowed to surf the internet in a cafe, you know that, right?” the officer could tell right away he was lying, “It’s class ti now, and you’re out here surfing the internet instead of being in school. Is that fair to your parents?”

“I already said I’ve graduated,” the boy retorted.

“Graduated, huh?” The older officer nodded and said, “Fine, then co back to the station with us. We’ll notify your family to co pick you up, and I’ll see just how old you are and whether or not you have graduated.”

“Why… Why would you take to the station? I haven’t done anything illegal.”

“I’m a policeman; it’s my job to ensure your safety. If you can’t tell us your na, what you do, or where you live, I definitely need to verify that,” said the older officer, not to be swayed by the boy’s feeble argunts.

The boy was suddenly anxious, regretting coming here for that bit of money.

He had thought he’d get to surf the net for free and even make an easy one hundred yuan.

It was enough for him to ga all night long.

Normally, he would skip classes to surf the web anyway; it was a no-brainer when he could also make so money while doing it.

But today, he had stumbled upon this situation.

After the younger police officer finished his ticulous inspection, including the private rooms on the second floor, he reported back, “No problems, they’re all adults with IDs.” Seeing the internet cafe was so well-regulated brought a smile to his face, and he said to Pei Jingyuan, “Your cafe’s doing great, even the private rooms upstairs are in order.”

No custors were using the upstairs rooms for the kind of antics they might try in a hotel room.

Pei Jingyuan grinned, “Our boss is smart. He said the upstairs rooms are too small and the beds too narrow. Even if soone had ideas, they couldn’t execute them. Most people who co here are gars, and who holds a girlfriend of more importance than gaming? When they start playing, who cares about anything else?”

The older police officer laughed too, “Your boss is smart.”

“Alright, young man. Co with us,” he said.

Just then, Lu Youxi hurried over.

Pei Jingyuan had promptly notified Lu Youxi as soon as the police arrived.

The cafe had many custors, so checking IDs had taken a while, enough ti for Lu Youxi to arrive.

“Boss!” Pei Jingyuan called out as soon as he saw Lu Youxi coming in.

Lu Youxi was still panting as he quickly greeted the police officers.

The older officer hadn’t expected Lu Youxi to be so young, “You’re the boss?”

Lu Youxi nodded, smiling, “A college student entrepreneur.”

The older police officer was caught off-guard by Lu Youxi’s words: “…”

That was the first ti he’d heard soone describe running an internet cafe in such high-end terms.

Though, if it was about entrepreneurship, it wasn’t inaccurate.

But sohow, it still sounded a bit odd.

“Very good, very good,” the older officer chuckled awkwardly.

“We received a report that there were minors surfing the Internet here, so we ca to check it out,” the officer explained.

Lu Youxi turned to ask Pei Jingyuan, “Didn’t you check properly?”

“You misunderstood; this young guy was quite responsible. We’ve just checked, and all the custors brought their IDs; they’re of age,” the officer quickly explained, “It was only this student without an ID, and he was stopped from entering.”

“The young guy said everything was your strict order; your cafe’s managent is pretty good!” the officer said with a smile.

Lu Youxi nodded with a smile, “I’ve seen many news reports, and my younger brother also brings back stories from his school. He says the teachers learn which internet cafes the students frequent, often going there during school hours to catch them, catching them red-handed. Although self-control is sothing not every adult has a good grasp on, at least when you’re an adult you can be responsible for your choices. It’s different for minors; they’re still in school and have a lot of space to work hard. I can’t control others, but I definitely can’t let my cafe interfere with the kids’ studies.”

“Putting myself in their shoes, if my brother didn’t study hard and skipped class to surf the internet, I definitely wouldn’t be happy about it,” Lu Youxi explained, “Therefore, I can only do my bit to ensure we prevent this at my place.”
