They really couldn’t sleep anymore, so they got up and started rummaging through their clothes to try on.

Their clothes had been brought from Hexing Village.

When Lu Youxi got up and ca out of his room, he saw that the door to Lu Zhenguo and Liu Yushu’s bedroom was wide open, with clothes scattered all around. He walked up to the door and asked, “Dad, Mom, what are you busy with? Cleaning the room?”
“No, we’re looking for clothes to wear for tonight’s eting with the in-laws,” Liu Yushu replied while looking up briefly from her task.
Lu Youxi slapped his forehead, “That’s my fault. I’ve been so busy with the internet café recently. I went shopping yesterday but forgot that you two also need appropriate clothes. Just wait for .”
Having said that, Lu Youxi dashed back to his room and returned with a bank card, which he handed to Liu Yushu.
“Mom, take this card and buy so clothes at the mall,” Lu Youxi said. “Besides buying sothing proper for tonight, get sothing you can wear daily. The clothes from Hexing Village aren’t very suitable anymore. Afterwards, let’s get rid of those.”

“Youxi’s money isn’t easily earned, and the internet café might need more funds later; let’s not spend hers,” Liu Yushu whispered to Lu Zhenguo. “I saved so money when we were in Hexing Village. Let’s use that.”
“Alright.” Then, Lu Zhenguo and Liu Yushu took Lu Youxue to a nearby bank to withdraw so of their savings.
In the end, they didn’t buy much.
As far as Liu Yushu was concerned, having one good outfit each was enough.
For the rest, to avoid looking out of place in Imperial Capital, they decided to check out a wholesale market.
The clothes there were cheap, and though the quality might not be great, they were fashionable.
Lu Youxue was growing rapidly, his clothes soon beca too small.
And, with his rough and tumble play, his clothes often wore out; there was no need to buy anything expensive.
The three then went to the wholesale market and bought a few items, making the trip quite fruitful.
When they got back ho, Liu Yushu returned the bank card to Lu Youxi and did not ntion that they hadn’t used it.
Lu Youxi probably wouldn’t notice soon, and by the ti he did, it would all be in the past.
Lu Youxi wouldn’t hold it against them.
Seeing Lu Youxi unaware as he put away the bank card, Lu Youxue secretly covered his mouth with laughter.
Liu Yushu gently tapped Lu Youxue’s nose and made a “shush” gesture, signaling him to keep silent and not let Lu Youxi find out.
Lu Youxue nodded quickly but couldn’t help laughing, fearing that Lu Youxi might see, he decided to hide in his room for a while.
That afternoon, Liu Yushu began to feel restless, constantly watching the ti.

They had agreed to et at six.
But Xu Jingmin had arrived ten minutes early.
“Let’s sit down,” Lu Zhenguo hurriedly suggested.
Xu Jingmin then released Liu Yushu’s hand but took the seat next to her imdiately.
Liu Yushu was sowhat conflicted, having heard that seating positions at city dining events were quite particular.
