Chapter 155: Chapter 155: Breakup Chapter 155: Chapter 155: Breakup “You don’t need to promise anything,” Huang ngyao said solemnly, “Lu Youbang, stop beating around the bush. You’ve breached my trust here, and I won’t believe anything you say anymore.”
“I believed your lies before, explaining on your behalf like a fool to everyone who asked , claiming that you were falsely accused by Lu Youxi. But today, I’ve beco a laughingstock because of your lies. I feel like everyone I pass on the street is laughing at .”
“They’re laughing at , thinking I’m a fool who got completely fooled by you!” Huang ngyao had been very angry, but had no chance to release her anger throughout the day.
Lu Youbang called her, but she didn’t want to answer.
Still, Lu Youbang kept pestering her.
Huang ngyao wanted to just break up with him and be done, but then Lu Youbang found excuses again, asking her for her trust.
Huang ngyao’s suppressed anger finally burst.
“Lu Youbang, do you really think I’m a fool?” Huang ngyao shouted angrily, “I never disparaged your background. The stories you made up, pretending that coming from the city is better, you don’t realize that in my eyes even the background you fabricated ans nothing. It’s no different from coming from the countryside! I initially liked you for who you were! I thought you had a good personality and ambition. But now, you don’t even have those qualities, just a hypocrite full of lies!”
“And you still want to trust you? What reason do I have to trust you!” Huang ngyao took a deep breath and after exhaling long, she said, “Lu Youbang, as I’ve said, we’re breaking up. Stop bothering .”
“You don’t need to stand and wait under my dormitory building, thinking a display of desperate affection will move .” Huang ngyao coldly said, “I’ve said it, we’re breaking up, that’s final. Don’t make block you!”
“From now on, I don’t want any ties with you! Just having my na associated with yours, I feel humiliated!” Huang ngyao trembled with anger, “Don’t call again!”
Furious, Huang ngyao slamd the phone down onto the receiver, tears uncontrollably streaming down her face.
Huang ngyao lay over her desk, crying out of anger, grievance, and irritability.
“ngyao,” her roommate didn’t know how to comfort her.
“Is he still there?” Huang ngyao did not lift her head and asked while crying.
“He’s still there,” her roommate whispered.
“Stop looking,” Huang ngyao said, “or he might think we still see a possibility.”
“ngyao, I don’t know how to comfort you,” another roommate said, “but maybe it’s better to look at it this way, at least you found out about Lu Youbang now rather than later. You realized his unreliability in ti and could end it quickly. It would have been much harder if you had found out many years into the relationship when your feelings were deeper and it might not have been so easy to break up.”
“I know,” Huang ngyao lifted her head, took a tissue to wipe her tears, choking back sobs, “We’ve been together for just over half a year, right in the heat of passion, which makes it easy to get carried away. But to say we had deep feelings, maybe not.”
“What hurts now is how much I liked soone who turned out to be such trash,” cried Huang ngyao, “Could my judgnt have been that poor?”
“It’s not that your judgnt was poor; he was just too good at pretending,” her roommate comforted her by patting her back, “Before Lu Youxi ca along, none of us who knew Lu Youbang thought he was such a liar. You’re not alone, everyone thought well of him, that he was a good, studious, and ambitious young man with promise.”
Huang ngyao felt a bit better after hearing her roommate’s words.
It wasn’t her poor judgnt; Lu Youbang had just disguised himself too well.
“Has he left?” Huang ngyao asked.
“Want to take a sneaky look for you?” her roommate offered.
“Let’s not,” Huang ngyao shook her head, “If he sees, he might think I can’t let go of him.”
“So what are you thinking now? Is it not that you can’t let go of him?” another roommate asked.
“It’s not exactly that I can’t let go,” Huang ngyao felt a little better and sniffled, “I was certainly fond of him when we were together. But what I’m more upset about now is the embarrassnt. He fooled completely, and now the whole school knows it, how can I face anyone? How am I going to attend classes in college?”
“What’s there to worry about?” her roommate comforted, “Running into a jerk is far too common. Besides, you’re the victim here. If anyone dares ridicule you, they’re the ones who should be ashad.”
“Exactly!” another roommate chid in, “If soone does mock you, don’t bother with those trivial people, they might end up being more embarrassed themselves. Plus, I heard so students discussing today that you shouldn’t be mocked. I think, despite there being so perverse, unsympathetic people around, given that people like Lu Youbang exist, most of our classmates are fine.”
At that mont, soone knocked on their dorm door.
A roommate answered it, it was a student from the neighboring dorm.
“We just ca up and saw Lu Youbang still waiting downstairs, what’s the situation?” the neighbor asked.
The roommate sighed in disdain, “ngyao broke up with him, and he can’t accept it. He’s just lingering downstairs to draw attention, hoping ngyao might change her mind.”
“He’s not planning on being a total nuisance, is he?” the girl said disdainfully, “He already had a bad reputation, now he’s pulling these stunts? ngyao truly has bad luck to get entangled with soone like this.”
“It’s fine, let him wait if he wants,” said the female neighbor, “We’ve talked about it, his reputation is ruined by now, and anyone passing by and seeing him there will despise him, let’s see how long he can hold out.”
“Exactly, make sure ngyao stays firm, that guy’s not worth it. He even tricked his own sister, who knows when he might trick ngyao? Now that you know his true colors, it’s lucky. Get away from him as soon as possible to avoid any more harm.”
“Tell ngyao, we all support her,” the girl said, “right now Lu Youbang is out there just being repulsive. If he tries to approach ngyao and she doesn’t want it, we’ll definitely all support her.”
Huang ngyao had actually heard their conversation within the dorm.
After hesitating briefly, she appeared at the doorway, eyes red, “Thank you, everyone.”
“Thank us for what? You’re the victim here. We’re all girls; we totally understand how you feel,” her classmate said, “If we don’t support you now, when would we?”
Her roommate turned to Huang ngyao, “See? I told you, while there will always be so people with twisted views, most people with any decency won’t make fun of you.”
