Chapter 501: A Series of Dangerous Events (1)
Soone was standing before her with a knife in her hand.
Xu Weilai took one quick glance at the person and realised that she was fully dressed in black. Her coat was wrapped tightly around her and she was even wearing a hat that only revealed her eyes and mouth. For a mont, Xu Weilai could not recognize who the person was.
Xu Weilai was seated on a chair. To be exact, it was a wheelchair.
“No wonder I felt as though I was being transported earlier on. Soone had helped onto the wheelchair and pushed here,” she thought.
Although the surrounding environnt was pitch black, she could vaguely tell that they were in a desolate place, for there were many oddly shaped rocks and trees around. If her guess was right, she was currently on a mountain and because it was already late into the night, the wind was chilling. It was so cold that goosebumps appeared all over her body.
However, this section of the mountain was not the one she had visited in the afternoon. It was part of the other section of the mountain that had not been developed.
Her hands and feet were bound to the wheelchair by a thick rope and it seed like the rope was tied in a dead knot.
“So it wasn’t a coincidence that I felt so dizzy after soaking in the hot spring. Soone had actually carefully planned for this to happen,” Xu Weilai mused.
The man in black did not expect Xu Weilai to regain consciousness so soon and paused for a mont. But in the next instant, her intent to kill grew stronger and stronger. Her lips curled up into a cold sneer and she raised the knife to stab towards Xu Weilai’s heart.
Xu Weilai widened her eyes and stared at the killer as the killer bent over and closed in on her. Although it was extrely dark at night and she could barely see clearly, she managed to recognise the killer’s familiar-looking eyes and was instantly shocked.
“Chunchun?” she asked in disbelief.
Multiple thoughts had flashed across her mind earlier on and while she did suspect Xiao Chun, but she was reluctant to entertain the thought that Xiao Chun could be responsible for this. They had been friends for many years and knew each other best. Although they weren’t biological sisters, they were closer than actual siblings and she could hardly believe that Xiao Chun would harm her.
However, the eyes that she saw made her think twice.
The man in black closed in on her. With the knife just inches away from her and ready to pierce through her body any mont, Xu Weilai had no ti to ponder about her assailant’s identity.
Besides, the killer showed no rcy towards Xu Weilai, for despite her screams, the killer’s actions remained swift and ruthless. It was as if she was bent on killing Xu Weilai.
Perhaps because Xu Weilai was too shocked or because she had unleashed her strength in the mont of crisis, but her limbs managed to break free from the rope’s restraints although the rope was tied in a dead knot.
Xu Weilai and the man in black were both stunned for a mont and the man in black’s movents slowed down for a second. Thus, the knife did not manage to pierce through Xu Weilai’s heart and rely left a bloody gash. Crimson red blood instantly oozed out.
Xu Weilai was in so much pain that beads of cold sweat broke out on her forehead. However, she couldn’t care less about her wound and made use of the mont to raise her foot and kick the man in black with all her might. She, too, showed no rcy to her assailant and the man in black could not help but grunt and stagger backwards.
Xu Weilai had drawn out the viciousness in the man in black, who was now extrely infuriated by her resistance. Xu Weilai’s assailant tightened her grip on the knife in her hand and veins popped out on the back of her hand. She then pounced at Xu Weilai as though she had gone mad.
Xu Weilai covered her wound with one hand and took in a deep breath before she propped herself up and avoided the man in black’s attack once again.
The man in black seed to let out a cold snorted and, without giving her any ti to catch her breath, charged at her again.
