Honeymoon

After getting married, Jiang Lan went to Shanghai with the orchestra for a performance, while Lu Yicheng was busy with company matters, causing their honeymoon to be postponed again and again.

In contrast, Yu Wanqiu and Lu Shuangcheng took advantage of the national holidays this year to travel. They went out whenever there was a break, visiting several places already. Yu Wanqiu’s social dia was filled with photos of her and Lu Shuangcheng at various scenic spots.

Jiang Lan also wanted to go on a honeymoon, but she couldn’t get away. It wasn’t until early June, after her performance ended, that the two finally packed their bags and flew to Milan.

For short dostic trips, they could go anyti, but for a long vacation, Jiang Lan wanted to go sowhere far away.

They didn’t pack much—just clothes, chargers, and various docunts.

Jiang Lan had already planned everything out: first Milan, then Paris, followed by a stop in the Maldives, before finally returning ho. They’d spend three or four days in each place, sampling local delicacies and visiting famous landmarks.

Including travel ti, the trip would take exactly half a month.

Lu Yicheng had no objections. He was fine with anything. "Honey, let’s bring our marriage certificate too. Where did you put yours?"

Why would they need to bring their marriage certificate?

Jiang Lan: "I don’t care if you bring yours, but I’m not bringing mine."

"You have to bring yours too. Just keep it with mine. I’ll hold onto our IDs as well." Lu Yicheng only packed the essentials—everything else, including money, was managed by Jiang Lan.

Lu Yicheng: "I’ll bring so snacks for the trip. Don’t forget the water bottle, mini fan, sun umbrella, your lipstick, sunscreen spray… Let’s double-check to make sure we didn’t forget anything."

Jiang Lan confird they hadn’t missed anything, and Lu Yicheng zipped up the suitcase. "Let’s go!"

They took a private jet straight to Milan. Jiang Lan slept the entire flight, waking up to a golden sunset upon arrival.

The hotel they booked overlooked a shimring blue lake, its surface scattered with flecks of gold. The breeze rippled the water, making it sparkle.

Jiang Lan took a photo and posted it on her social dia. This account was mainly for docunting her life—filled with videos from her graduation trip and outings with Lu Yicheng.

A few days earlier, she had shared clips from their wedding. She hadn’t even realized she’d cried.

She had smiled through her tears, and Lu Yicheng’s eyes had glistened too.

At least she had cried prettily.

With over two million followers, the comnts were overwhelmingly kind. So recognized the location imdiately.

[Here for the honeymoon?]

[Oooh, honeymoon ti! (laughing emoji)]

[Is it fun there? I’m also trying to decide where to go for my honeymoon!]

[Jiang Lan’s travel guide strikes again.]

[Lu Yicheng, you better take good care of our girl!]

[Looking forward to a honeymoon baby~]

[Have a great ti!]

[When are you coming back? I want to see your next performance!]

[Be happy with Lu Yicheng and Yu Wanqiu!]

Jiang Lan skimd the comnts before Lu Yicheng pulled her into the hotel. After checking in, she collapsed onto the bed, and Lu Yicheng sat beside her, massaging her arms and fingers.

"Want to go out and explore? The scenery in this town is beautiful. We could grab dinner and walk around before coming back."

Jiang Lan tried to get up, but it felt like the bed had swallowed her. Her arms and legs refused to cooperate.

"How about you go out and bring back so food?"

She didn’t want to move, but she did want to eat.

Lu Yicheng: "...I don’t want to go alone."

Truthfully, he didn’t want to go out either. He wanted…

Lu Yicheng stood and walked to the window. Jiang Lan pulled the blanket over her face, hiding her smile.

She said she wouldn’t…

But in the end, they still went. Jiang Lan called out, "Lu Yicheng, you’re the best!"

Lu Yicheng closed the curtains.

It was already dusk, and the room plunged into darkness as the curtains shut.

Lu Yicheng pulled off his T-shirt. His youthful body was well-toned—despite his busy schedule, he never skipped the gym.

Their ho had a small fitness room, and Lu Yicheng loved weightlifting.

His abs were defined, his V-line disappearing into his waistband.

His muscles were sculpted and attractive.

Jiang Lan couldn’t help but sneak a few glances. Even though she’d seen it many tis before, she still felt shy when he undressed, too embarrassed to look for long.

Going out to eat ant changing clothes again. "Lu—"

Lu Yicheng unbuckled his belt and walked toward her. "If you’re not going, I’m not going either."

Jiang Lan sat bolt upright. "I never said I wouldn’t go! I’m going! Let’s hurry up and eat—I’m starving—"

But it was too late.

This ti, Jiang Lan truly couldn’t lift a finger.

Lu Yicheng kept kissing her, his desire stirring again. "Honey… honey…"

Jiang Lan’s bangs clung to her damp forehead. "I’m hungry."

Lu Yicheng kissed her eyelids. "Honey."

Jiang Lan: "I’m seriously hungry!"

Lu Yicheng sighed. "Fine. I’ll carry you to the shower first, then order food, okay?"

Jiang Lan huffed in agreent. They were supposed to go out and explore, but they’d spent an hour in the hotel instead.

Once they were cleaned up, Lu Yicheng changed quickly. He ordered food from a nearby restaurant, sothing local and flavorful.

After dinner, he asked if she wanted to go out. The evening breeze was cool, but Jiang Lan’s legs were still weak.

Jiang Lan: "Let’s just watch a movie."

They found an old film in the hotel’s collection. The room was luxurious, with a massive projector. But before long, Lu Yicheng’s attention drifted from the screen.

The next morning, Jiang Lan didn’t wake until past ten. She was exhausted—but thoroughly satisfied.

Lu Yicheng, on the other hand, was full of energy. He bought breakfast, helped Jiang Lan get dressed, but by the ti they finished eating, it was already eleven. The afternoon sun was scorching, and Jiang Lan didn’t feel like walking under it.

Lu Yicheng had the sa thought. "Then let’s just stay in the hotel, okay? I’ll get you anything you want to eat."

Jiang Lan got out of bed to find clothes. "I think we should still go out. Bring the cara—I want you to take pictures of ."

Though slightly disappointed, Lu Yicheng obeyed. He picked an outfit that matched Jiang Lan’s, grabbed their water bottle and sun umbrella, and the couple headed out.

The sun was blazing. Jiang Lan had been to Milan once before with Yu Wanqiu for a fashion show, but they hadn’t had ti to explore.

The architecture here was distinctly European—churches, long streets, street artists sketching portraits.

Jiang Lan and Lu Yicheng commissioned a portrait. It took over an hour to complete. When it was done, Jiang Lan glanced at it before handing it to Lu Yicheng to hold.

Lu Yicheng: "It looks like our wedding photo—both of us smiling."

If only he could draw, he’d fill sketchbooks with Jiang Lan’s face.

But he could take photos instead. Lu Yicheng’s phone was full of pictures of Jiang Lan—his lock screen, chat backgrounds, and countless videos he’d recorded himself.

So of his proposal videos were downright silly. He hadn’t wanted Jiang Lan to see them, but she’d wheedled until he gave in.

At least she hadn’t laughed at him afterward.

From the ti they left in the afternoon to finishing the portrait, over three hours had passed. Jiang Lan’s legs were sore.

Lu Yicheng suggested, "How about we grab dinner and head back?"

Jiang Lan: "I’m tired."

That was exactly why Lu Yicheng wanted her to rest—otherwise, they’d stay out longer.

Jiang Lan agreed to return to the hotel, but only on one condition: no more "activities." She didn’t want to spend their entire honeymoon cooped up in the hotel.

Lu Yicheng promised they’d just sleep—nothing else.

He always had to consider Jiang Lan's feelings.

Jiang Lan hugged Lu Yicheng briefly and said, "Let's go eat, then head back!"

However, even though Lu Yicheng had promised verbally, they were newlyweds and still young—once stirred up, it was hard to resist.

From Milan to Paris and then to the Maldives, Jiang Lan got to experience the living environnts and local customs of different places.

Overall, the beds in Milan were more comfortable. In the Maldives, being by the sea with the ocean and sand right outside made things more thrilling, while Paris was more romantic.

As for other sensations, there weren’t any.

After returning from their honeymoon, Jiang Lan finally understood what Yu Wanqiu had ant when she said most of the ti during a honeymoon is spent in hotels.

When Yu Wanqiu asked her later what the honeymoon felt like, Jiang Lan replied, "Nothing special, really. Just that the hotels in those places were all quite nice."

Yu Wanqiu burst into laughter. "Did you two take precautions? It’s been over ten days, you know."

Jiang Lan shook her head. "No… Ugh, why ask about that? Lu Yicheng and I agreed to let things happen naturally. If we really hit the jackpot, then we’ll have the baby."

Jiang Lan wasn’t the ambitious type to begin with; she thought going with the flow was perfectly fine.

If a baby ca, they’d welco it. If not, it just ant the timing wasn’t right yet.

She and Lu Yicheng had already enjoyed their ti as a couple for long enough, and Jiang Lan adored children.

Though she wasn’t fully prepared to be a mother, with Lu Yicheng, Xie Yunzhen, and the others around, she figured there wouldn’t be much she’d need to handle alone.

Yu Wanqiu had thought the sa back then—if it happened, they’d have the child.

After a honeymoon lasting over half a month, they had to be more careful now.

Yu Wanqiu added, "If you are pregnant, you can still work until close to the due date, then take maternity leave. The next generation of the Lu family will have nas starting with 'Ling.'"

Jiang Lan was puzzled. "Lu Yicheng’s na has 'Yi,' so why is Lu Xingran’s 'Xing'?"

Yu Wanqiu explained, "Because Lu Xingran is his stage na."

Jiang Lan: "…………"

No wonder. That made sense.

"Lu Yiran" didn’t roll off the tongue as smoothly as "Lu Xingran."

As for "Ling"—Jiang Lan hadn’t even gotten pregnant yet, but she was already brainstorming baby nas.

After a few more reminders, Yu Wanqiu went upstairs.

Living close by had its perks—they each had their own hos, yet returning was convenient.

Jiang Lan glanced down at her stomach and called Lu Yicheng. "Honey, when are you coming back?"

Lu Yicheng replied, "Just left the office. Need to bring anything? Roast chicken, fried chicken… anything else?"

Jiang Lan said, "Bring a pregnancy test. I’m worried I might be pregnant without knowing."

Lu Yicheng’s breath hitched. "Sweetheart, we’ve only been back for two weeks. Even if you were, it’s too early to tell. You’ve got to trust science—"

Jiang Lan cut him off impatiently. "Who’s talking about science? Just buy it, okay? Stop with the nonsense! And yes, I want roast chicken too."

Lu Yicheng: "Alright, I’ll get it."

Jiang Lan: "I’ll be waiting for you at ho."

Lu Yicheng wasn’t entirely sure whether he wanted a child yet. They’d just gotten married—of course he wanted to enjoy their ti as a couple.

But if it were Jiang Lan and his child, whether a boy...

or a girl, he’d love them all the sa.

He was also worried about how taxing pregnancy would be for Jiang Lan. Giving birth was exhausting and painful. Though she wasn’t pregnant yet, Lu Yicheng had already run through every possible scenario in his head during the trip ho.

When he returned with the items, he set them on the entryway cabinet. "I’m back!"

Jiang Lan ca out of the bedroom. "You got it? It slls amazing."

Of course it did—he reeked of roast chicken.

Lu Yicheng swallowed hard. "I got what you asked for too. Do you want to test now?"

As an expectant father, Lu Yicheng was far more nervous than he let on.

Jiang Lan patted his shoulder. "You should trust science."
