"Mom, you're crazy today," Han Li muttered, feeling Yue Li's weight against his chest as she lay cuddled to him, languid and drained after hours of intense work.

Yue Li's energy deflated like air from a balloon. She breathed heavily. In fact, Han Li could feel her heart thudding dangerously inside her ribs. He grew worried.
'Was this too quick?' he sighed inside his heart. In the previous tiline, his mother had seen a lot of murders—especially when he had beco the Slave of the Wisdom Seeking Villa, but his current mom hadn't gone through the harsh tis yet.
She had not seen the darkness beyond the veil of peace.
"Have you killed anyone else before this?" she asked, her clawing hands against his chest made him understand just how restless the event had gotten her. It needs a unique resource to accomplish, but we can do it if we get any sort of 'Life Type' magical resource. We can Luck-trade it after all."
"Tell , what does this ceremony do?" she asked, her tone rather suspicious of his intent.
"It is a ceremony that a person can only go through once in their life; if you conduct it, there are a lot of benefits; in fact, conducting it is one of my greatest goals."
"…What happens if you conduct a Dao Companion Ceremony?"

Han Li's brows twitched. No wonder she was his mother, taking advantage of the situation.
"I can't agree with both of these. Both are unfair!"
What if soone attacks them?
