Chapter 352: Chapter 291: Survivor Base of Huiyuan City
Walking through the main entrance, Su Han saw a compound wall constructed of concrete and sheet tal, along with guards wielding weapons around the wall.
The community’s defenses were not bad, although they could not compare to the Tree Domain. Relying on such a wall was enough to fend off the attacks of ordinary-sized beast hordes, as long as there wasn’t too much commotion.
Upon entering the community, Su Han discovered that the entire green belt area had been planted with crops, brimming with vegetables, wheat, and corn. The two buildings closest to the green zone had been partially modified. So non-load-bearing walls had been knocked through and the soil piled up thickly to plant crops.
The source of the lighting ca from Lamp Tree Crystals.
It was this special construction that allowed the number of survivors in the community to reach around 400 people.
“Sir, please wait a mont, I’ll go fetch Sister i and Brother Yan.”
“Hmm.”
Zhang Zhengguo led Su Han to a room in building eight to wait, then imdiately set off to look for i Liping and Yan Aiguo, who were still around the camp, not daring to delay.
‘There aren’t many combat personnel, just a few dozen, but the basic operations of a camp are running smoothly. Aside from a few weaknesses, it proves that managent is quite good.’
Su Han observed the situation of the camp while also considering whether to leave any groundwork to prepare for the subsequent recovery of Huiyuan City.
He did not expect them to complete the recovery operation, after all, whether it was dealing with the breeding of the insect hordes or dispatching troops after Zhu Xiong’s capture of Sanli Town, it would be simpler than massively leveling up such a large group of people.
What Su Han actually needed was to build up the population, to quickly establish order after the recovery. In so ways, Zhang Zhengguo’s camp t these requirents.
However, the more problematic issue was the current West Mountain Villa area, which had no small number of people, and hence was a bit troubleso to deal with.
Su Han didn’t have to wait long; soon, footsteps could be heard outside the door, and Zhang Zhengguo and Qin Lihong ca in with a man and a woman, quickly entering the room.
“Sir, this is i Liping, and this is Yan Aiguo.”
Zhang Zhengguo introduced the two, and Su Han’s gaze passed over Zhang Zhengguo’s figure, taking a good look at the two people.
Both appeared to be in their fifties, of average height, with graying hair.
i Liping seed uneasy, her eyes reflecting confusion and bewildernt; she did not recognize the young man before her.
He was neither a relative nor a friend’s child, so why had he suddenly co to find her?
Yan Aiguo, although slightly calr, had eyes full of puzzlent as well, casting a silent inquisitive glance toward Qin Lihong.
“Aunt i, Uncle Yan, I am a friend of Xinglei and iyu, from South City.”
As Su Han spoke, i Liping and Yan Aiguo froze, showing expressions of disbelief.
“How are Lei Lei and Aiyu doing? They… they…”
i Liping stamred, her composure rattling at the seams.
“Sister-in-law, don’t worry, don’t worry, listen… to what he says.”
Filled with concern, Yan Aiguo was afraid of hearing any bad news from Su Han, but seeing i Liping in a frenzy, he could only try to calm her first.
Both families were old acquaintances, and their children were married to each other, making them even closer. Now, with the elder brother Gan Yong not here and the fate of the two children unknown, they could not let anything happen to Sister i.
Seeing their reactions, Su Han quickly said, “Aunt, Old Gan is fine. The couple is fine. Here are their talisman and a letter from them.”
The talisman was a pair of pendants obtained from Gan Xinglei and his wife, given to them by their parents at their wedding.
Upon seeing the pendant, i Liping’s eyes quickly reddened.
“Yes, it’s this pendant. You… you…”
i Liping tried to ask about Gan Xinglei’s condition but realized as she began to speak that she had never asked for Su Han’s na, uncertain of how to address him.
Moreover, on the way there, Zhang Zhengguo and Qin Lihong had reminded her that Su Han might be a Third Order strongman, not to be offended.
She was at a loss for words for a mont, stamring several tis without completing her sentence.
“Aunt, just call Su Han. Mr. and Mrs. Gan are helping manage the camp affairs in South City and couldn’t co over.”
Su Han gave a reassuring smile, explained, and then handed over the letter.
“Thank you, thank you, child.”
i Liping and Yan Aiguo, upon seeing the letter, could no longer focus on anything else and hastily took the letter, then opened it.
Tears imdiately stread down, with them murmuring, “It’s them, it’s them.”
They recognized the handwriting of Gan Xinglei and Yan iyu.
Zhang Zhengguo and Qin Lihong dared not make a sound, feeling as if a huge weight had finally been lifted from their hearts.
If he was related and a friend of Xiao Lei, then the matter would be much easier to deal with, at least not too dangerous.
The letter from Gan Xinglei and Yan iyu wasn’t long, as they were not certain before Su Han’s arrival in Huiyuan City whether their parents were still alive, or if Su Han could find them.
So, the brief letter contained just a few paragraphs, each written in the handwriting of one of them.
The core ssage was this: Su Han is a dear friend and boss, bearing the grace of saving their lives, and they must listen to his arrangents.
After reading the letter, i Liping suddenly knelt down to Su Han.
Su Han, quick to react, imdiately reached out to support her, “Aunt, what are you doing?”
“Thank you for saving those two kids.”
i Liping was aware of Su Han’s great favor in saving the lives of Gan Xinglei and Yan iyu and thus made such a gesture.
“There’s no need for that.”
Su Han shook his head slightly and then cast a glance over, to which Zhang Zhengguo imdiately understood.
“Sister i, Brother Yan, you can chat first. I’ll go keep an eye on a few creatures outside.”
