Chapter 328: Chapter 328: Under Great Pressure
The long-range assault and the All Heaven Thunder Fire Spell had drained Li Rui’s Spiritual Power, but it didn’t matter. He had the Fire Bell with him, and once he activated the rewind, he instantly returned to the position nine seconds earlier, with both stamina and Spiritual Power restored to their previous state.
There’s no helping it; Legendary Level equipnt is just that unscrupulous.
Once he broke out of the encirclent, he activated the Shenxiao Thunderbolt Heart Scripture and ran without even bothering to look back.
To be honest, he didn’t even know the effect of that All Heaven Thunder Fire Spell he just cast. Whether there was a Prophet in the central tent, he wasn’t sure. He just tried his luck; if it missed, it was no loss, if it hit, he’d made a killing.
He huffed and puffed as he ran back, and when he looked back, he found no pursuers following him.
"Officer! What happened?"
The people from Team 04 who ca for cover only encountered him halfway.
Li Rui said, "Nothing, let’s head back first."
The group returned to the highlands held by Dragon Country.
Yi Xin’s injuries had already been treated. He proactively ca up to shake hands: "Hello, hello, luckily you ca, otherwise, we would’ve failed."
"I was just following the orders of the command center."
Li Rui smiled, "How’s the battlefield? Any casualties?"
The two exchanged a few casual words before Yi Xin seemingly casually asked, "By the way, I haven’t asked your na yet..."
"Oh, sorry, I forgot to ntion, my na is Li Rui."
"You’re Li Rui?!"
Yi Xin exclaid in a low voice.
He had heard of this person, known for his astonishing rise in power. Even Dong Sanchuan praised him, and there were so rumors saying Guan Gui had a good relationship with him, though this only circulated in small circles.
Initially, he didn’t think it was exaggerated, but he also didn’t take it too seriously because rumors often get distorted after being passed around several tis.
But seeing it today, he found that those claims weren’t unfounded. This was definitely a master on par with Guan Gui and the others; the only question was who was stronger.
"Is there anything else here that needs help?" Li Rui asked politely when he saw Yi Xin in a daze.
"There shouldn’t be anything for now. They’ve failed in this attack, and a high-risk individual was lost. I reckon they’ll retreat, and I’ll send soone to take over the Howling Moon Race’s camp." Yi Xin replied.
Li Rui was skeptical, but soon soone ca to report.
"Captain Yi, they’ve retreated."
Yi Xin smiled proudly, then made arrangents to send Scouts for reconnaissance to prevent traps, but eventually confird that the Western Kingdom had indeed retreated.
Li Rui asked, "Why are they sure to leave? Isn’t this place important? They could send reinforcents."
"They’re unsure of who you really are."
Yi Xin spread his hands, "Even our own people didn’t know you were this powerful, so to them, it’s even more frightening. In such a situation, who would they send? Those seasoned top experts or that supposedly invincible young Simon? If there’s an ambush, they can’t afford it."
Li Rui felt it made sense: "I understand, because their Prophet is dead, they are in the dark, so to be safe, they retreated."
"Exactly, intelligence is.... What? Prophet is dead?"
Li Rui said, "Didn’t I just say, I chased and threw a skill into their camp."
Yi Xin was speechless.
Is this for real?
Throwing a skill into the camp could kill a Prophet? Such precious individuals usually have personal guards.
Even trying to catch soone off guard requires a fast skill with no forewarning and high power to accomplish it. Chasing over, throwing a skill, and killing a Prophet sounds too incredible, doesn’t it?
...
The vanguard camp of the Western Kingdom had completely retreated, returned to the vicinity of the main camp.
The original commander of this unit was nad Vander. After Farah Land arrived, he beca the deputy, but that female Priest died, so he reverted to being the commander.
When he walked into the camp, he imdiately sought out the higher-ups in charge of this Secret Realm battlefield.
"Gentlen, there’s been a problem."
His tone and expression were equally solemn, "Mr. Samuel is dead."
He referred to the Prophet who had been with the Vanguard Camp.
These senior officials had already learned of the defeat at the front lines and were not in a good mood, but upon hearing this news, they no longer had ti to worry about losing a stronghold.
"What did you say? He’s dead?"
A fat, bald middle-aged man said, "I even ordered you to personally protect him closely! What the hell happened?!"
"I don’t know, Dragon Country has a very powerful guy who chased from the frontline to our stronghold alone, then used a skill like Hellfire to ambush us. I tried my best, but there was no way to save Samuel. He was devoured in an instant, and I couldn’t do anything."
Vander felt aggrieved, but a bit indignant at the sa ti, "Even Farah wasn’t this person’s opponent."
This was a gap in pure strength. If you can’t win, you just can’t; it’s not embarrassing to lose when a King tier invades a Platinum ga.
"Damn it."
A woman with downward-slanting eyes said, "Samuel was sent precisely to use the Prophet’s abilities to prevent ambushes and assassinations, but instead, he got killed. That’s just...."
The fat, bald man said irritably, "Damn it, after that stronghold was lost, our plan has to be altered. Dammit, I should have gone personally to take it back."
"No, Giacomo, now is not the ti to escalate the war; that would give the Polar Alliance an opportunity." The woman maintained her composure. After all, they were the high-level officials of the Western Kingdom; unless inherently hot-tempered, they generally wouldn’t explode emotionally and lose composure.
The fat, bald man nad Giacomo said nothing, obviously not content to let it go.
At this ti, the slick-back-haired man who had been silent, sitting in the middle, spoke: "Giacomo, Daisy is right, let’s settle this account for now and take it back later when we get a chance."
"Since Samuel is dead, go with the ergency plan, abandon the River of Abundance area, and make targeted adjustnts for subsequent deploynts."
His voice was low and magnetic, like he had a voice changer in his throat: "Vander, tell
properly about this guy who uses fire spells. Daisy, use his description to match the target and see who it could be."
"Yes, sir, this is an expert; we should be able to match it."
However, half an hour passed.
"Sir, I can’t find any information about this person."
Daisy looked as if she’d seen a ghost, "No, no intel has ever ntioned there being a young person in Dragon Country who uses both Thunder and Fire elental skills and is adept at close combat."
The man with the part in his hair furrowed his brow: "Thunder...Fire...Is it another newly erged powerful guy?"
"What’s going on? Guan, Cheng, Dong, the skill characteristics don’t match any of these three."
The senior mbers of the Western Kingdom in this operations command room fell into silence, unable to figure it out.
"Alright, let Simon wrap it up; don’t keep dragging it out with the Divine Son in the south. The pressure in this round of the Secret Realm battlefield might be significant."
