An hour later...
The Sea Dragon Emperor continued gliding across the sea at an incredible speed.
Elina stood with a cheerful expression, enjoying the strong sea breeze against her body.
"By the way, Young Master," she said, turning to Leon, who was sitting cross-legged beside her, eating bread. "When do you think we’ll reach the mainland?"
She slowly sat down, picked up a piece of bread next to Leon, and took a bite.
Leon stared into the distance before replying, "I’m not sure exactly, but I think we’ll arrive in about two hours."
Unlike the distant land where the Holy Orthodoxy was located, the stretch of sea between Nerivale City and their destination wasn’t particularly far—just a two-day journey by large ship.
But since they weren’t traveling by ship, and instead riding the incredibly fast Sea Dragon Emperor, Leon estimated they would arrive in two to three hours.
Hearing his reasoning, Elina gave a small nod, as if she understood.
The two continued their casual conversation to pass the ti.
"How do you think your sister will punish you later, Elina? Have you thought about it?"
Leon’s sudden question caught her off guard. She glanced at him and saw the playful look in his eyes.
Instinctively, Elina puffed out her cheeks and looked away with a slight frown.
"I don’t care how my sister punishes . As long as I can explore the world with you and see amazing things, that’s enough," she said softly.
For Elina, seeing the outside world had always seed like an unattainable dream. And she wasn’t alone—her sister and the other elves shared that sa yearning.
Each night, so of them would stare up at the vast ocean of stars and wonder, "What lies beyond? Do breathtaking places like the sea, the mountains, and everything described in ancient books and fairy tales truly exist?"
Their longing ran so deep that a few even tried to flee. But one by one, they t grueso ends—cut down by the curse etched into their very blood.
Only Elina had ever escaped unhard—in the past seven thousand years, no one else had.
That’s why, the mont she learned that Leon was planning to travel the world, she knew she had to go with him.
Through that journey, she hoped to fulfill not only her dream but the dreams of her people as well.
Seeing her sulking, Leon chuckled and gently patted her head.
But before he could say anything, a sudden explosion rang out about fifty ters ahead.
The Sea Dragon Emperor ca to an abrupt stop, its eyes fixed on the direction of the blast.
Leon and Elina exchanged a glance, then quickly stood and looked forward—where a massive creature now blocked their path.
It resembled an octopus, roughly the sa size as the Sea Dragon Emperor.
But with its wide body and long, writhing tentacles, it appeared even larger—and far more terrifying.
"Young Master, that’s... an octopus monster!" Elina cried out in panic, clutching tightly to Leon’s sleeve.
Her beautiful, adorable face turned pale, as if all color had drained from it.
This was the first ti she had seen such a creature up close, and fear gripped her—especially at the sight of its grotesque, constantly writhing tentacles.
Just yesterday, she had eaten octopus at the inn’s restaurant—a small, ordinary dish. But this... this was a giant, terrifying monster unlike anything she had ever seen.
While Elina stood frozen in fear, Leon remained calm and composed. His sharp gaze fixed on the monster, cold and unflinching.
"A Kraken, huh? I didn’t expect to see one here. So this sea is part of its territory," he murmured.
Back in his howorld, the Kraken was nothing more than a myth. But in this world, the creature was real—though known by a different na.
Still, for the sake of convenience, Leon chose to call it the Kraken.
It usually dwelled in the deep waters of the northern ocean and was rarely sighted.
However, Leon recalled old reports of a Kraken causing massive destruction to rchant ships in the southern seas of the Holy Orthodoxy.
Fortunately, the Spear Hero of that era had managed to kill it.
And now, a creature that hadn’t been seen in centuries... had reappeared.
Considering that these waters were connected directly to the ocean, it was likely that the Kraken had either been carried by the currents or had simply lost its way until it ended up here.
Since this environnt was much less hostile than its original habitat, the Kraken might decide to settle here for good.
Snapping out of his thoughts, Leon gently patted the Sea Dragon Emperor’s head and began communicating with it.
Beside him, Elina watched in silence before turning her gaze back to the Kraken, her expression tense with unease.
"If a monster that big appeared in the Forest of Eternal Silence, things would definitely turn chaotic," she murmured.
Until now, she had always believed the monsters in the forest were the most terrifying and powerful.
But after seeing the Sea Dragon Emperor and the Kraken up close, her perspective had shifted.
The forest monsters now seed... less frightening. In fact, compared to these two colossal beings, they almost felt cute—harmless, even.
A mont later, Leon finally understood why the Kraken had appeared.
"Looks like I’ll have to step in," he said with a quiet sigh.
Elina looked at him in surprise. "Step in? You an... you’re going to fight it?"
Leon gave a small nod, his eyes narrowing with focus. "The Kraken thinks we’ve trespassed into its territory. It’s demanding that the Sea Dragon Emperor turn back. Otherwise, it’ll attack all three of us and turn us into its next al."
Elina clenched her fists, a mix of fear and irritation rising in her chest.
She might be scared of the creature—but that didn’t an she would just accept becoming its food.
Summoning her courage, she glared at the Kraken. But the mont its massive, pitch-black eyes locked onto hers, her bravery vanished. Her face went pale, and she quickly ducked behind Leon.
Leon let out a soft chuckle and shook his head.
"Stay here with the Sea Dragon Emperor. I’ll deal with this giant octopus," he said, his voice steady and firm.
Elina didn’t respond—she simply gave a small, hesitant nod.
"Holy Sword of Zenith, heed my call," Leon said coldly.
*Buzz!*
In an instant, a white light flared in his palm, quickly expanding into a radiant, intricately forged sword.
Without hesitation, Leon soared into the air, rising until he hovered fifty ters above the sea.
Provoked by the sight, the Kraken let out a deafening roar and thrashed wildly.
*Roar!*
The sound tore through the air, so loud and piercing that Elina instinctively covered her ears.
Leon remained unshaken. Holy power surged from deep within him, erupting in a brilliant white light.
Sensing true danger, the Kraken lashed out, its massive tentacles whipping toward him.
Still, Leon didn’t flinch. He raised the Holy Sword of Zenith high—its glow intensifying with holy energy.
Behind him, an avatar erged—the Scale of Justice.
The atmosphere thickened, and the space around him trembled, unable to withstand the sheer pressure it exuded.
*Dong!*
The scale tipped to the right, and holy light flooded the sea, bathing everything within hundreds of ters.
As Leon brought his sword down, he said coldly, "Hero Technique: Punishnt of the Gods."
