*Whoosh… Boom!*
Guren's body was hurled through the air before crashing violently into the ground.
"Ahem! Ahem!" He coughed repeatedly, clutching his aching chest.
His handso face turned slightly pale, and blood trickled from the corners of his lips.
*Buzz!*
The Hero's Destiny mark on his forehead glowed brightly, surrounding his body in radiant light. Slowly, the intense pain began to fade as his wounds started to heal.
He rose to his feet and shot a cold glare at Leon, who hovered in the sky. A fierce white light burned in his eyes as he stretched out his right hand.
*Buzz!*
A black sword materialized in his grip. Its long blade was etched with strange red patterns, making it look ominous and deadly.
The air grew heavier with its presence, and the atmosphere turned tense.
Leon's eyes narrowed when he saw the sword—not out of fear, but because he could sense the overwhelming dark energy radiating from it.
"Is that a weapon forged with the Evil God's power?" he wondered, his senses sharp with caution.
He couldn't be completely sure, but he was at least ninety percent certain that the sword had indeed been forged with dark power.
One question echoed in his mind: How could Guren wield it?
With holy power and the Hero's Destiny inside him, it should have been impossible for him to even touch a weapon tainted by dark power.
Then, Leon noticed sothing—Guren's holy power was slowly being consud by the sword's dark aura.
In an instant, the holy energy faded, replaced by a thick, ominous darkness that engulfed his entire body.
The Hero's Destiny mark on Guren's forehead changed—shifting from bright white to a deep, pitch-black.
Leon was left speechless, unable to believe what he was seeing.
"Damn it… What's happening to him? Is sothing like this even possible?" He muttered, his voice laced with horror.
He had never witnessed anything like it before—holy power consud by darkness, and the Hero's Destiny itself… changing color?
What had Guren endured to bring about sothing so twisted?
As Leon stood frozen in thought, Guren abruptly raised his sword and swung it at him.
*Whoosh!*
A massive arc of dark energy erupted from the blade. Towering five ters high, it surged toward Leon at a terrifying speed.
Leon dared not act recklessly or underestimate it.
Although he possessed both chaos and holy power, he remained vulnerable to the corrupting touch of dark energy.
The slash struck the spot where Leon had stood, carving a deep, five-ter-wide crater into the earth.
But Guren wasn't finished.
He launched slash after slash—vertical, horizontal—unceasing in his assault on Leon.
*Whoosh!*
They sliced through the air relentlessly, but Leon was quicker.
Yet, as the strikes kept coming, even he started to feel the strain.
"Hero Technique: Space Steps!" Leon shouted loudly.
*Brrz!*
He moved with incredible speed. With each step, his figure vanished, then reappeared four ters away.
Space Steps was one of his ten signature hero techniques.
It was created by a Sword Hero from 3,500 years ago. The technique is nad Space Steps because its user seems to pierce through space, moving two to four ters in an instant.
Although it sounds incredible, Space Steps doesn't actually pierce space.
Instead, it accelerates the user's body to hundreds of tis normal speed, making their movent appear as if they're slipping through space.
It works similarly to teleportation magic but only allows movent up to five ters.
The biggest advantage? It uses almost no holy power, unlike teleportation magic that drains a mage's energy.
This technique is built for close-range combat, not for escape, so the maximum displacent is about five ters.
*Boom!*
*Boom!*
Guren's attacks kept striking the spots where Leon had just teleported—but none connected.
Furious, Guren roared, "Coward! Keep running like a rat!"
*Whoosh!*
A wave of dark energy exploded outward. So of it caught Leon, hurling him fifty ters back.
Fortunately, Leon twisted his body mid-air, regaining his balance just in ti.
But before he could fully prepare, Guren darted forward, suddenly appearing right in front of him.
He raised his black sword, its blade wreathed in dark energy, and swung it toward Leon.
"Die!"
Leon's eyes widened. Quickly, he clasped his palms together, and the dragon's ribs materialized, shielding his body.
*Boom!*
The sword slamd into the dragon's ribs shielding Leon, and, surprisingly, they held firm.
But after a few seconds, the ribs shattered, hurling Leon two hundred ters away.
"Die!"
Guren charged again, appearing beside him, then swung his sword horizontally toward Leon's waist.
Startled, Leon shouted, "Space Steps!"
His right foot touched the ground, and in an instant, he reappeared five ters ahead.
*Boom!*
Guren's attack slamd into the earth, creating a two-ter-deep crater.
Leon quickly took a fighting stance, eyes locked on Guren with grim determination.
"His strength was truly extraordinary—multiplied by tens of tis," Leon thought warily.
If Guren was level one hundred before, now he was level one thousand!
His strength, speed, and attacks had skyrocketed, leaving Leon slightly overwheld.
Guren drew his sword and thrust it forward. His eyes glowed with a blackish-red light, while the Hero's Destiny mark on his forehead pulsed with a pitch-black glow that could chill anyone to the bone.
"How long do you plan to keep dodging, Leon Kruger?" he shouted coldly.
Leon smiled calmly, tightening his fists. "I just wanted to test your new power. I have to admit—it's impressive."
"You…" Guren ground his teeth, filled with hatred.
Despite giving it his all, that damn man still underestimated him, fueling his anger all over again.
*Boom!*
Dark power exploded from within, sending shockwaves in every direction.
"All right, now I'll get serious." Leon smiled faintly and summoned his dragon aura.
*Buzz!*
A golden aura spread across his body, converging in his hands and feet.
They locked eyes for a mont—then both surged forward, colliding.
*Bang!*
Leon's fist crashed into Guren's sword, unleashing a supersonic explosion that thundered through the air.
*Bang!*
*Bang!*
Their speed was beyond comprehension, bodies clashing like streaks of light.
*Slash!*
Guren swung sideways, but Leon dodged and imdiately countered with a left punch aid straight at Guren's chest.
He blocked with his sword, but the blade trembled violently on impact.
As their fight dragged on, their blows grew increasingly destructive.
The earth around them fractured and exploded. Craters asuring two, three, or even seven ters deep scarred the land in every direction, plunging the battlefield into chaos.
Suddenly, Leon spotted an opening.
Quickly, he grabbed Guren's neck with one hand.
Without a word, he drove his fist into Guren's stomach, sending the man crashing hard into the ground.
Guren groaned but refused to surrender. As he reached for his sword, Leon dove down from above and stepped on his right hand.
He stared coldly and said with quiet finality, "You've lost, Guren Lewyn…"
