Doctor Jiang, who had been quietly observing Wan Qian, didn’t see the reaction he had been hoping for. His half-squinted eyes widened slightly, revealing a trace of astonishnt.

But very quickly, Doctor Jiang found an explanation for Wan Qian’s behavior. Could she be pretending to be blind? Trying to bluff her way through by feigning ignorance? That wouldn’t be so easy.

The smile on Doctor Jiang’s lips grew wider, and his malice beca openly apparent. He took the initiative to speak, reminding Wan Qian, "How is Grandma Zhang’s arm...?"

Actually, more than speaking first, Doctor Jiang preferred to see investigators caught off guard and scared. But Wan Qian’s reaction forced him to break his usual way of doing things.

Wan Qian lowered her head and glanced at Grandma Zhang’s arm again. To be honest, the bandaging was impressively well done — from the outside, there was no sign of the wrap.

And recalling how soft it had felt earlier, it was likely the Doctor Jiang’s deliberate handiwork, designed to keep the old woman from bumping or scraping it again.

Wan Qian sincerely praised, "Doctor Jiang, your dical skills are truly superb, and your ethics are excellent."

Doctor Jiang: "?"

Wan Qian continued, "Doctor Jiang, you’ve really taken great care of Grandma Zhang. Don’t worry, I will definitely cover the treatnt costs during her hospital stay."

Doctor Jiang was silent.

Wan Qian’s tone was so sincere, and heartfelt that for a mont—even the ruthless Doctor Jiang involuntarily felt a flicker of hesitation.

Could he really be a doctor with dical ethics? But soon, Doctor Jiang’s gaze hardened.

Could this be Wan Qian’s talent? To cause strange misjudgnts about herself?

Fortunately, he was experienced and unlike the ignorant villagers, he easily broke free from Wan Qian’s verbal trap.

Doctor Jiang snorted coldly, his tone sharp and disdainful, "You think saying that is going to work on ?"

Wan Qian was stunned for a mont, then a wave of inexplicable guilt and self-bla washed over her.

Sigh. It was all her recklessness; if not for her, Grandma Zhang wouldn’t have ended up in the hospital. Poor old lady, at such an age, having to endure this tornt.

It’s only right that Doctor Jiang, who pities Grandma Zhang, would have a bad attitude toward her.

Wan Qian bowed her head and apologized obediently, "I’m sorry. It’s all my fault. I’ve caused trouble for you and Grandma Zhang."

Hearing her words, Doctor Jiang slowly approached Wan Qian step by step.

Under his large white coat, a rusty surgical knife was faintly visible. The hand holding the knife had bulging veins, ready to strike.

Wan Qian lowered her head and waited quietly for a few seconds. When no words of understanding ca from Doctor Jiang, a wave of disappointnt welled up in her heart.

She lifted her head again and was about to speak when she saw Doctor Jiang walking toward her.

"Huh?" Wan Qian was startled but quickly realized: Doctor Jiang was still willing to approach her. His silence ant he intended to comfort her with action.

In an instant, tears welled up in Wan Qian’s eyes. She was nearly overwheld by gratitude.

What a kind doctor, not only caring for patients but also willing to treat soone like her—the cause of all trouble—with the gentlest attitude.

Before Doctor Jiang could reach her, Wan Qian rushed forward a few steps and grabbed his arm with both hands. "Doctor Jiang, you’re really a good person!"

Doctor Jiang found it a bit amusing that Wan Qian took the initiative to co close to him.

At a ti like this, shouldn’t she be trying to escape? It didn’t matter—he would deliberately avoid hitting the vital spots, giving her a little more ti to enjoy the chase.

But at the next mont, Doctor Jiang’s smile froze. His arm—he couldn’t lift it.

The arm holding the surgical knife was firmly gripped by Wan Qian’s strong hold, as if weighed down by a heavy rock, completely beyond his control.

Doctor Jiang didn’t believe it and tried harder; his whole shoulder trembled slightly from the effort. But he couldn’t move even an inch, nor could he pull his arm free from Wan Qian’s grip.

What was going on? Doctor Jiang struggled harder, but his arm didn’t budge.

His face turned red from the effort. On his fair, handso face, his cheeks flushed faintly like blush, making him look striking.

Seeing Doctor Jiang’s flushed face, Wan Qian felt even more touched.

Such a shy and bashful doctor—even hearing her praise that he was a good person made him blush—but he still ca to comfort her, showing such gentleness and kindness.

"Doctor Jiang, rest assured, once Grandma Zhang recovers, I will accept transformation and be a good person!" Wan Qian loudly promised.

Doctor Jiang said, "...Let go of my arm first." The words were squeezed out through clenched teeth.

Wan Qian quickly released her grip.

But perhaps because Doctor Jiang suddenly lost his support point while trying to lift his arm, a very slight "click" sound suddenly echoed in the ward.

His arm had dislocated.

Doctor Jiang: "..."

Wan Qian: "..."

After a few seconds of silence, Wan Qian timidly spoke, "Um... Doctor Jiang, did you hear that sound?"

Feeling his dislocated and immobile right hand, Doctor Jiang’s anger rose.

Fine. Very fine. This is the first ti in all his years of practicing dicine that he’s co off worse at the hands of an investigator.

But would he admit to being hurt? If he admitted it, wouldn’t it just give this feigning fool in front of him more reason to mock him?

Doctor Jiang grinned, showing a gradually twisted and sinister smile. "No."

When Wan Qian left the clinic, her heart was still full of admiration and respect for Doctor Jiang.

Such a good doctor was truly wasted in such a small village.

She wondered if she could lure him to work at her farm.

Besides, if he could treat humans, he should also be able to treat animals.

One Doctor Jiang, both human doctor and veterinarian—wouldn’t her farm make a fortune?

Wan Qian happily calculated in her heart.
