"Go! Run!"

Hal roared, grabbing Loki before sprinting off in the opposite direction from where the Fellkin was headed.

Liora was naturally jolted awake by his words, quickly turning and dashing off.

It didn’t take long for Hal to catch up to his comrade, and soon, the two of them were running side by side.

anwhile, veins popped at the sides of Arran’s head as he forcefully halted his montum by planting his legs into the ground, then charged after his prey.

"Hoh...fine, I’ll admit you have balls..."

The young Fellkin couldn’t believe that a re human would dare act against him.

Very quickly, the difference between a human’s and a Fellkin’s physique beca evident, as the distance closed at an unreal pace.

There was simply no way Hal and Liora could escape at this rate...

The two knew it as well, and for the first ti in their dangerous venture, it felt like the end of the road.

Hal had always been confident in outwitting beasts and monsters, but a Fellkin was different.

The wicked bastards were closer to his own race—and seed to be just as smart, too.

Just five seconds after they started running, Hal sensed danger from behind.

He turned with gritted teeth, letting his comrade continue to dash away as he summoned two barriers in quick succession: a [Reinforced Earthen Wall] followed by his trusty [Mana Barrier], now at level 35.

The small rotating black orb shooting his way seed to snuff out the existence of even air.

He knew there was no way his barrier could stop it...

The next mont, he quickly blinked to the side, allowing the orb to continue its path of devastation as it destroyed both the [Mana Barrier] and [Reinforced Earthen Wall] in less than a second, obliterating all the Iridescent Willows in its way before finally dissipating.

Had Liora not been running along a slightly different path than Hal, she would have been struck by the dark orb.

Hal had no choice but to stop and try to hold off the Fellkin, as they would both die otherwise.

Maybe he could escape using invisibility once his comrade had run far enough and found a place to hide...

Liora was smart, after all, and she probably knew that running would be pointless.

She had to try her luck by hiding.

Unfortunately, today seed to be one of the rare occasions her brain worked differently, as Liora suddenly stopped, turned, and fired a Piercing Light at Arran.

She at least made the Fellkin summon a small plate-like barrier that swallowed her spell, though that was it.

"Liora! What are you doing?!" Hal roared, unhesitatingly using a [Dark Grip]-[Gravity Ball] combo.

His attack failed to accomplish anything, sadly, as Arran easily tore the hands of darkness apart before turning black and ethereal, sohow taking no damage from the [Gravity Ball] until the spell disappeared.

The maiden didn’t even answer his question.

Liora rely continued firing light elental spells, seemingly having resolved herself to die alongside him.

Clearly, the Fellkin was too much for even Hal to handle, and he would most likely be rcilessly killed by the bastard simply because he was a male.

She just wanted to let him know that he wouldn’t be dying alone... that she would be with him all the way...

Liora knew the cold feeling well, after all.

Hal, on the other hand, didn’t understand why his comrade was suddenly acting willfully, forcing him to stay and fight for now.

He would probably be the bastard’s target anyway.

Perhaps they could sohow work with that...

Since things had already co to this, Hal planned to injure the Fellkin’s leg, then resu fleeing.

Maybe if Liora realized there was a real chance to escape, she would devote all her efforts to making it out.

After a few monts of thoughts, sches, and a playful yet slightly annoyed gaze from Arran, the Fellkin resud attacking.

As expected, his target was Hal.

The wicked creature suddenly dashed toward him, fists seemingly covered in a small pocket of jet-black void.

Chills crawled down Hal’s spine, but he didn’t cower and sharpened his focus instead.

He wouldn’t survive if he lost his cool now.

Arran threw a straight right at Hal, and he barely managed to dodge thanks to [Licht Step], which let him move as swiftly as light for a short distance backward.

The next attack followed almost imdiately, with the Fellkin lunging again without pause, aiming a left palm strike at Hal’s face.

Hal sensed that a single blow could end his life.

He couldn’t afford to ss up.

Ducking the blow, he countered with a finger strike, sending Arran flying again with a [Knockback].

He lucked out, having both been learning boxing at the fitness center and benefiting from the spell coming off cooldown just in ti, buying him a few precious seconds.

Or so he thought...

It seed as though the young Fellkin simply ignored the laws of inertia, blinking back in front of him and reaching for his neck to crush it.

Arran’s back was pierced by multiple glowing needles, making him resemble a porcupine, but the wicked creature ignored the damage, going all out to take down the infuriatingly slippery young male human in front of him.

Unfortunately for the young Fellkin, Hal had already prepared a counterasure, even if he hadn’t expected things to turn out this way.

A blue magic circle lit up beneath Arran, and a geyser erupted from it, launching the Fellkin into the air.

While the scorching water was of little concern to the creature, its patience was slowly being worn thin.

Hal imdiately followed up with [Mist Veil], blanketing the area in a thick white mist.

The mont he recovered, Arran looked down, sneering in disdain despite not seeing his targets.

Without delay, he closed his eyes and released a pulse of purple energy from his body—a detection sphere that swept across the mist-shrouded land.

Within seconds, it picked up two void disturbances.

"Found you, rats," he growled, shooting down like a teor soon after.

Hal felt the hairs on his body stand on end as he sensed the mana disturbance coming from above.

’Sh*t! How?!’

Without hesitation, he [Blink]ed away, forced to abandon his attempt to reach his comrade.

An instant later, Arran’s fist slamd into the ground, carving out a deep, wide crater.

The shockwave alone sent both Hal and Liora tumbling across the dirt.

Had that blow connected, Hal would’ve been dead on the spot...

Naturally, the mist cover had been blown away. Their positions were fully exposed now.

Hal gritted his teeth.

The gap between him and the Fellkin was simply too great...

But just as he was scrambling for a solution, a large, slender shadow suddenly fell a few ters ahead.

Then ca the sickening thud of flesh and bone hitting the ground.

It was the Stormshade...and it was dead...
