The Fellkin witnessed what just happened, and most of them were on the verge of pulling their horns out in frustration.
Who the fuck was the damned black-haired young man just now?!
They were so eager to see the brief agony of the young female human, only for their plan to fail at the last minute due to unexpected assistance.
The Fellkin nad Beran had risked his life and spent years to be a trusted, low-ranking military officer in the Imperial Wizard Army, waiting for this massive chance to improve his status within their achievent- and strength-based fell society.
He silently took out his partner, who was watching the Magna Prospects’ operation areas with him, and sneaked his true comrades into the zone.
Another of them then assud the identity of the dead army soldier and went on to watch the area for days.
They were certain that, eventually, Ennya or Hal would have to co and clear the areas close to their posts, which would then allow them to assassinate either of the prospects and wipe out their incompetent platoons.
With Kurava’s information about the two young humans, the five were so sure they could carry out their tasks.
And quite easily at that.
Ennya Kasai turned out to be the lucky prospect they would assassinate, and the Fellkin five were glad that she was, as the young man nad Hal Fennec was too strange and might have a way to escape them.
Though, of course, their approach would have differed if he had been the first one to clear an area close to their post.
The Fla Magna Prospect was reportedly all brawn and no brain, after all, and that she didn’t have any other repositioning spell aside from Blazing Step, which wouldn’t allow her to escape the darkness cage.
In short, she was an easier target.
Everything was going smoothly for them until the mont the black-haired young man appeared and saved Ennya Kasai at the last mont.
Of course they would be infuriated.
Their future life of bitches and riches was ruined by the ddleso bastard!
But then, as soon as the man turned, they recognized him, and their frowns deepened.
"Hal! How did you..."
Ennya couldn’t finish her sentence, struggling to find words, and also because Hal suddenly moved and placed his hand a few centiters away from her subordinate, Bryan’s severed hand.
A gentle green magic circle then appeared, followed by a faint green light, closing up the young wizard’s injury.
Hal wasn’t able to restore Bryan’s hand, but he was at least able to stop the bleeding and prevent the young man from dying.
Relief washed over Bryan and he imdiately lost consciousness.
The petrified and undecided Fire Platoon mbers realized what was going on and imdiately sprang into action, rushing back to the fray to help their allies.
In fact, even two out of the six deserters who "carried out" Ennya’s orders suddenly turned back upon spotting the Chaos Platoon mbers in the distance.
Only the true cowards left the scene and left their comrades to die.
They would surely be in deep trouble later, though they could, in their defense, say that it was Ennya’s orders.
In any case, they would be punished one way or another.
...The Fellkin Warriors didn’t allow the two platoons to unite that easily, quickly springing into action before their chaotic lines recovered.
Beran and the others weren’t afraid even if they managed to join up.
They were re youngsters of the lesser race, after all.
It was just that they didn’t want to make things harder for themselves, if they could help it, and now was the only chance they would have to end it in a quick fashion.
On the bright side, they now have two Magna Prospects to murder.
Their rewards would more than double if they could kill both Ennya Kasai and Hal Fennec.
The rest could live, rot, or whatever, for all they care.
Without hesitation, Beran and the other four Fellkin Warriors charged forward, their lean and muscular bodies in a forward, aggressive motion.
They then began casting spells while dashing forward, attacking Hal, Ennya, and the few platoon mbers near them.
Beran cast the sa spell he did to trap the midget.
However, the way he cast it differed this ti around, forming a long horizontal wall behind them instead of a cage.
This prevented Hal and the others from fleeing, forcing them to face the spells head-on.
The translucent black barrier also served as a small divide between everyone in the fray and those who were scrambling to rejoin the battle.
Almost simultaneously, two huge Thunder Spears erged from a dark-blue magic circle, hovering above the Fellkin Warriors for a mont before shooting down towards Hal and the others.
There was also a dark-purple Void Blast heading their way, and the last Fellkin Warrior seed to be preparing a strange darkness elental spell.
They would have to fight everything head-on.
For Ennya, this wasn’t anything new, as fiery aggression was her only defense, anyway.
Plus, her flas were absurdly powerful.
It was rather unfortunate that she had only been absorbing mana for a year.
Otherwise, she could’ve wiped all five of them out with a single Fireball or Fla Tornado.
Ennya only had ti to cast the forr this ti, but that was all she needed to destroy all the approaching offensive spells.
Or so she thought...
To her surprise, before the leading Thunder Spear clashed with her Fireball, a dark orb suddenly appeared from the black magic circle of the last mber of the Fellkin Five.
It flew silently forth, but with horrifying speed.
The black sphere even overtook the Thunder Spears and clashed with Ennya’s Fireball.
To the Fellkin Warriors’ delight and the platoon mbers’ horror, the massive, roaring ball of flas shrank until it disappeared, scattering to the four winds as re vermilion glitters.
The Fire Platoon mbers paled at the sight.
The Fla Magna Prospect, Ennya Kasai’s flas—boosted by five-hundred percent—was contained in a direct confrontation?!
Only now did they realize why the Fellkin viewed them as an inferior race.
While they could argue that the five Fellkin warriors were older than Ennya, they didn’t seem to be anyone special within their race, unlike the midget who was hailed as the most talented wizard in the Arcanum Imperium’s history.
Perhaps they were warriors with a bit of fa in their fell society, but that was all.
The platoon mbers desperately scrambled to manage a few defensive spells.
They summoned Reinforced Earthen Walls, Reinforced Ice Walls, and a few good old Mana Barriers, layering them for maximum defensive power.
But everything was broken through almost instantly, shattering and crumbling into re fragnts and rubble.
Lightning crackled and the void howled as the three deadly projectiles continued shooting towards Hal and the others.
Then, just when it seed as though the platoon mbers were destined to perish alongside their young leaders, three massive magic circles appeared on the ground.
Two of them were vermilion in color, while the one in the front was a tallic gray.
Three towering creatures then erged from the magic circles: two Fire Elentals and, in front of them, a Steel Golem, which appeared before the two Elentals.
Hal had finished slotting new cards into his gesture slots, and he made sure that one of the three creatures could only be cast using his most infuriating middle-finger gesture.
