Hal glanced at the disappearing figures of his subordinates, lingering on Hao and Rocky’s squadrons for a while before shifting his gaze forward.

He wasn’t too worried about Yhohan and her squadron, since he was sure that they could handle their opponent.

The two squadrons teaming up to fight a single C-ranked creature was the most unpredictable out of the three battles of the Chaos Platoon.

’Oh well, Rocky’s there, so they should at least be able to hold out until Yhohan’s squad finishes off that E-ranked chaleon beast...’ he inwardly shrugged, though he couldn’t deny that he was still slightly worried.

’Better finish my business quicker, then...’

Hal wasn’t sure how effective [Winter’s Grasp] would be against a C-ranked Fell Beast, but it should, at the very least, make it easier for him and his squadron to win, right?

Soon, the Hal Squadron arrived back at the massive boulder with a redwood tree adjacent to it, increasing their vigilance as they entered the area.

Their leader, on the other hand, was chilling.

Hal knew that the C-ranked Fell Spaceanderer, a beast with the form of a four-ard ape—its usually indigo fur now turned purple—and the maws of a canid, was still absorbing mana from the brownish-red ground.

There was nothing to worry about yet, as they still hadn’t been detected.

It was a blessing that these beasts seed to lose a considerable portion of their sense of danger while absorbing mana.

Otherwise, things would be much trickier.

The squadron arrived directly behind the massive boulder, the mbers peering from behind.

They imdiately spotted the beast, seemingly in the middle of a ditation process.

It was a rather unsettling sight.

Of course, Hal didn’t give a crap about the Fell Beast’s appearance or current position, thinking it was simply the sa as the others: a re beast.

Nothing more, nothing less.

It bleeds and dies like every mortal in the world.

"Stick to the plan, let handle it and support as needed, alright?"

The Hal Squadron mbers nodded, and Hal nodded back before heading off, approaching the ape-like beast with a confident stride and a cold gaze.

He was taking a "stealth is optional" approach.

The Fell Spaceanderer finally sensed him, and its eyes opened.

It slowly turned to face him.

Upon locking eyes with its prey, an eerie smile ford on the ape’s face, despite its long maw.

anwhile, the hearts of the Hal squadron mbers, who were circling from the shadows of the redwoods, trembled after seeing the beast’s smile.

It doesn’t seem mindless like the others, despite having a Fell Core that drastically reduced a beast’s capability to think soundly.

’Is the boss truly not in danger?’ was the thought in their minds.

There wasn’t much need for them to guess any longer, as the Fell Beast suddenly stood up and ripped a spatial crack open.

However, when it was about to go in, the creature froze.

Even the Hal Squadron mbers froze.

Who would have expected the first thing their boss would do would be to shoot a vicious middle finger at the Spaceanderer?

Then, to their disbelief, the spatial crack closed, and viscous purple blood began trickling from the ape beast’s nose.

In their eyes, it was so infuriated that it ended up having a nosebleed.

The dazed Hal Squadron mbers were forcibly snapped back to reality as dark hands appeared from beneath the Fell Spaceanderer, latching onto its limbs and preventing it from opening a spatial crack again, successfully holding it down, albeit rather shakily.

The fell ape seed considerably stronger than the Fell Zephyr Leopard they had taken down yesterday.

Nonetheless, one second was all Hal needed.

He quickly followed up by reappearing in front of the Fell Spaceanderer and firing a level thirteen [Piercing Light] right at its forehead.

But to his surprise, the ape beast wasn’t so easily killed.

It managed to sohow tilt its head, avoiding a lethal blow, though a small portion of its face was still destroyed.

"What?!" Hal briefly complained before focusing even harder.

There was no place for hesitation.

Furthermore, he still had the advantage, as the Fell Spaceanderer was only half-free from the dark hands.

It managed to fully free itself after another second, but Hal’s vicious middle finger had just co off cooldown, and he imdiately shot another at the beast, causing it to tremble once more.

This ti, however, it suddenly spat out a small amount of blood along with its intensified nosebleed.

Its muscles also began to slightly spasm.

Hal didn’t notice all of the effects, but the montary paralyzation was enough for him.

Almost simultaneously with casting the [Epic]-tier [Winter’s Grasp], he pald the Fell Spaceanderer’s head, causing a vermillion magic circle to appear, from which a decently large fireball erged and shot toward the defenseless beast’s head.

It was a [Common]-tier spell.

However, his mastery was high enough.

The range was also point blank, and even the caster himself had to [Licht Step] away to dodge the fiery explosion.

Under the bewildered gazes of the Hal Squadron mbers, the Fell Spaceanderer burned, kneeling before falling face-first to the ground, still ablaze.

What the hell?!

They didn’t even get to help!

Soon, the flas extinguished themselves, leaving only the charred corpse of a six-foot-tall ape with a muscular physique.

[Congratulations! You’ve earned 150 Chaos Points!]

The Fell Beast didn’t even have a chance to fight back, repeatedly interrupted from doing what it needed to by [Winter’s Grasp].

Hal still didn’t know the full extent of the damage the spine-chilling ice elental spell dealt to its victims.

However, he was sure it wasn’t as mild as he had initially expected, considering that even an enhanced C-ranked beast with a tough constitution had spat out a small amount of blood and suffered a rather intense nosebleed after only two uses.

One cast of the spell was equivalent to thirty [Common]-tier spells, but Hal had plenty of mana and could keep using it without worrying too much about consumption.

As long as he didn’t have to use it more than twenty tis in a single battle, his Chaos Karma pool should be able to sustain the expenditure.

His intuition to choose the spell had proven correct!
