It didn’t seem like Felix had a solution for the [Mist Veil], and the stalemate would likely continue for quite so ti, so Hal took his ti and made his own preparations.

He had one shot.

If he failed, he would have to deal with the consequences of allowing his opponent to fully establish himself on the stage.

Hal placed a charge of [Voice Orb] on the northern side of the stage—since he was planning to strike from behind Felix—along with a charge of [Conjure Taunt Puppet].

His adversary would probably be able to escape the trap almost imdiately, especially since both spell cards were only level one, so Hal had to execute everything perfectly.

His plan was simple: sneak close to Felix, distract him using the [Voice Orb] and the [Taunt Puppet], take away his vision with a low-range debuff spell, force him to use his repositioning skill poorly, and finish him off with one swift, [Rare]-tier dark elental spell that fed on any nearby negative emotions to increase its power.

It was easier said than done, though.

If only he had [Dark Grip], things would’ve been way easier.

Soon, Hal arrived at Felix’s previous location, and, as expected, the guy had already repositioned.

So began the ga of hide and seek.

At this point, the crowd was jeering, unsatisfied with not being able to see what was happening.

But at the sa ti, there was a hint of excitent.

It had been clear earlier that Hal Fennec was starting to lose the exchange.

Perhaps this would turn things around?

Twenty seconds later, under the safe cover of [Shadow Walk], Hal located his target.

It seed that Felix had stopped summoning Void Eyes for now and was on high alert, waiting for him to attack.

’Phew...’ Hal took a deep breath.

It was ti to execute his plan.

"Eat this, Glacial Shard!" exclaid Hal, prompting Felix to turn in his direction, commanding half his Void Eyes to fire at the source.

Thirty void rays tore through the mist, opening up a path and a line of vision for the young master to take advantage of.

Unfortunately, all he saw at the end of the mist path was an infuriating puppet he felt compelled to destroy at all costs.

Felix was about to command all his Void Eyes, including the Annihilation Eye, to attack the puppet when he suddenly realized how incredibly stupid that would be.

This mont of awareness helped the young master of the Dargon Clan snap back to his senses.

It was, however, already a bit too late, as his vision suddenly turned black.

He didn’t feel anything off about his body.

It was just that sothing large and dark seed to be blocking his sight, that was all.

This ti, Felix panicked slightly and imdiately stepped into a Void Portal he had prepared beforehand, reappearing a few dozen ters away.

This was the mont Hal had been waiting for.

Almost simultaneously, the white mist thinned, allowing him to spot the rough location his opponent had escaped to.

He quickly gave chase, activating a charge of the [Rare]-tier spell [Tailwind], which increased his movent speed to triple his original for seven seconds.

As Hal sprinted across the stage, his left arm glinted with a dangerous, dark light.

A massive, pitch-black jaw that dwarfed him in size moved in sync with him, as though it were his very hand.

"There! Hal Fennec!"

The white mist also began to fully dissipate at that mont, giving the crowd their much-awaited update on the battle.

On one side of the stage stood Felix, seemingly trying to rip sothing off his face, though his efforts appeared to be in vain.

On the other was Hal, sprinting forward with maw-like fists ready to chomp down on the panicking young master, growing larger by the millisecond.

To their disbelief, it had indeed only taken a bit of chaos to turn things around.

Soon, Hal arrived at a distance close enough to use [Licht Step] to instantaneously close the gap, punching his fist forward.

The [Dreadmaw] chomped at Felix under the horrified gazes of those who had voted for him to beco the champion.

But just before the darkness elental spell could hit, a massive Void Plate suddenly erged from nothing, cracking the mont it absorbed Hal’s attack.

It ultimately held, though...

At least long enough for the [Obscure Vision] spell card’s effects to fade.

Felix unhesitatingly blinked away after regaining his vision, turning to face Hal with a rather smug grin.

"Heh, why are people so simple? Where else would you attack, other than my back?" taunted the young master.

Hal, on the other hand, gritted his teeth.

His plan had failed!

While it hadn’t been read like an open book, his final attack had been.

Perhaps attacking the back really was a bit too simple and predictable in a situation like this.

Hal quickly put so distance between himself and Felix before [Tailwind]’s effects ran out, though he didn’t dare get too close to the edge of the stage, as there was a chance he could be pushed off.

anwhile, the crowd was going wild after witnessing what seed to be the end of the battle, only for the young master of the Dargon Clan to survive his ordeal.

"C-C-Competitor Felix survives a sudden, dangerous situation! While no one saw how Competitor Hal turned things around inside the Mist Veil, his plans ultimately go up in smoke!" roared Akari, further hyping the crowd, especially those who had bet a huge amount of money on a Felix Dargon victory.

It didn’t end there.

Just as the majority of the square was cheering for a Felix counter-offensive, the young master made them cheer even louder by revealing sothing that made every hair on Hal’s body stand on end.

Behind Felix floated more than a hundred Void Eyes, with one Void Annihilation Eye at the center.

"Seems like you ssed up, delusional dark horse. Now face the consequences of your incompetence."
